“Uh… Nooo… I don’t think sooo…” Actually, Kodi hadn’t been spending as much time with Oriel ever since the… Incident. It wasn’t like they weren’t seeing each other at all, but Kodi thought it was probably best for both of them not to be alone together for too long. “Yes! It will!” he cackled quietly. Now he was just being ridiculous (like he hadn’t been already).

He did feel frozen. But Gryph was a warm featherbutt so he hoped it wouldn’t last long as long as Kodi leeched off of him for a while. The drink helped too, though; it was something the dentokinetic might not have enjoyed a while ago, but his boyfriend was making him develop a sweet tooth. Probably because he was so damn sweet. “You help warm me up,” he said, chuckling quietly. “Gimme all yer heat.” Kodi managed a small, playful nibble on Gryph’s neck.

He kept looking at Gryph with a hopeful gleam in his eye. Kodi was getting excited now, over this still little fuzzball. It reminded him of the Peter Cottontail books he used to read as a kid. However, when Gryphon started explaining his ‘situation’, Kodi slowly drooped, until he was pouting and leaning against his lover’s shoulder. “Oh… Okay…” he mumbled, slightly depressed again. He had some money from work, but… He should probably be saving up for when he graduated…

Kodi sat back and sipped sullenly at his drink some more, not looking at the picture of “Fang” anymore. He didn’t realize what Gryphon had in mind, so he was just a little bummed. “Mm… maybe… okay…” he mumbled. “I can save up some money if I need to…” He could stop looking at the bargain shelf at work every day…. Maybe. Did he really want a bunny more than he wanted books? Decisions… “…. Hug meee…” he whined, pouting even more as he set his drink down and flopped onto Gryph’s lap. “Love meeee….” Yes, Kodi was a little kitten that needed attention to be happy. Like tummy rubs. Not that he’d ever admit it.

Some things never changed. Gryphon chuckled, "I'm never not going to be your human heater, am I?" He grinned and snuggled closer to his lover, "Not that I mind at all."

He felt bad about disappointing Kodi but it would be worth it when the time came. Still, that expression... the way he literally drooped like a dying flower... it was all almost convincing him to turn around and say how he was lying and that they'd get the rabbit asap. But... no, he had to be firm. He looped his arm around Kodi, a familiar act of comfort by now, "I'm sorry, sweetie. It'll happen once it's possible, I promise." He left a nice long kiss on his temple.

"No, don't worry about it. You need your money. Just give it... a month or so." Or less. Kekekeke. "Besides, apparently, there's a lot to do." Hopefully Tak would be okay with a bunny hopping around. And the land owner.

Gryph looked at Kodi as he fell into his lap, amused, "I can't, when you're down there." He teased, putting the laptop down. He rubbed Kodi's side, "You don't have to ask me to, babe." He picked up one of Kodi's hands and pecked the back of it, before leaving it on Kodi's stomach. He leant down and nuzzled his forehead, before rubbing slow circles on his stomach. Why? Because he wanted to. He smiled softly before turning a little serious, "How've you been doing, hm?" He asked, brushing his hand through Kodi's hair, "Is... is there general improvement, d'you think?" Hopefully, the whole Damon issue would come to a halt soon enough.

“Nope, you’re not, ‘cause I’m a born an’ raised southern boy an’ I ain’t ever gonna get used t’the cold weather up here,” Kodi informed him smugly. “So you better get used to it, featherbutt.” His wings were always so warm, mmm… Kodi could stay tucked up in them forever.

Especially when he was sad. He never realized how much he had taken Gryph’s moderate wealth until now… Well, he supposed it was a rude but necessary awakening. Kodi nuzzled even more against him. He felt chilly again. “Kay…” he said softly. He should… Probably stop being so spoiled anyway. “It’s okay…” Still, he couldn’t help but continue to pout a little.

“… Yeah… Okay…” Kodi figured he should probably do more research about it anyway. And he couldn’t just… Abandon Shelob just yet. She still had time left! She was fine… “Right… I’ll do some research,” he declared. “And then we’ll be super ready when… When we can get one.” Yeah.

“Do itttt~” he continued to whine like a child. Poor Gryph, having to deal with this needy nerd. Kodi hummed happily as his boyfriend started doing his magic, effectively calming him down with his soothing touches until the dentokinetic felt relaxed and content. “Mmm… You’re so good at doin’ that…” he murmured softly. If he was a real kitten, he would have been purring like crazy. As it was, Kodi just smiled and giggled at the tummy rubs. He let his eyes drift shut momentarily before opening them again at the questions. “Mm…?” He sighed. “Uh… I’ve been okay…” Kodi tried not to think about it anymore than he had to, but that didn’t mean he never did. “I… Think so… Yeah…” he murmured. “Still get nightmares an’ stuff sometimes, but… I don’t think I get them as often…” He didn’t want Gryph to worry. “S’long as I got you, I’ll be fine.” Kodi curled up against Gryph’s stomach and nuzzled it, closing his eyes again. “You’re my angel.”

Being born and raised in a place like Seattle... well, when it was cold, it was fairly cold. You got used to those kinds of conditions (even if Gryphon wasn't a huge fan of them anyway). He would probably wouldn't cope with the heat in the south in Summer. He then realised how more cold Kodi would be feeling, and snuggled him closer, "Fine. But don't ever tell me you're not spoiled." Because he totally was.

Gryph's expression twisted. He felt very guilty, thanks to Kodi's behaviour, but... he didn't think he was doing it on purpose, so he just rubbed his side. "Yeah, that's a plan." He agreed, "We could probably... bunny-proof the apartment together, that's something it says you have to do." That could be fun.

The winged man giggled and continued to pet Kodi, basically. "Doing what?" He wasn't exactly sure what Kodi was talking about - but something was funny. He almost seemed like he was high or something, he seemed so calm and serene. It made Gryph smile a little more. "Okay..." Gryphon didn't know how much he believed that, but maybe he was wrong. Nightmares were pretty fucked up sometimes, getting lost in your thoughts was sometimes enough to screw you up for a whole day. However... Gryphon knew Kodi was pretty strong, mentally. He smiled again and rubbed his arm are he curled up, and laughed softly, "I'm your boyfriend, not some God-sent spirit person, or something." Angels were weird. "And as your boyfriend, I have to look after you, and you have to look after me. We work together. That's how it is. I'm just doing my job. Doesn't make me an angel." He would protest it every time Kodi called him that.

After a short while, Gryph prodded Kodi, "Come on, you should go lie down on a bed so your neck doesn't crick or something." He pecked his head, "Because you seem like you're about to start dozing, and I'm gonna get stiff if I have to be your bed."

Kodi was interested to see how Gryph might do in his hot, muggy, humid hometown. Heh, he might just need to go shirtless all the time… Maybe he needed to take him this summer. Hehehe. “I’m a spoiled rotten brat,” he quipped right back with a toothy smile. “An’ it’s your fault.”

Yup, bunny-proofing sounded good. As long as Gryph was planning on this happening eventually, Kodi would be okay. “Sounds good t’me,” he replied with a small smile. “We’ll have t’like… Hide cords and stuff so he won’t chew on them, and stuff.”

Was Gryph gonna make him say it? “Good at… Doin’… Soothin’ stuff,” he said quietly. It was better than any drug, or alcohol, really. More effective. It made it a little easier to talk about how he was doing, while he was curled up in Gryph’s lap and very content. He just felt… Warm and safe. “Mm… Nights are easier when I’m here with you,” he admitted quietly. “But… I manage okay alone.” Kinda. Sometimes. Not always, though. He chuckled at what his boyfriend said next. “Uh-huh… Keep tellin’ yourself that, but I’ll never believe it,” Kodi told him. “’Sides, you even got the wings, there’s no arguin’ against that~” He smiled. “Yeah… An’ I’m gonna spend my life doin’ just that,” he murmured. Kodi didn’t think he’d ever deserve Gryph’s love, but he was going to selfishly cling onto it with all his might.

“Mmmm… Kayyyy…” he mumbled sleepily with a yawn. He hadn’t realized how drowsy he’d gotten. “I’ll just…. Shuffle over there… Alone…” Kodi sent his lover a pointed, sad look before he heaved himself up and wobbled to the bedroom, whereupon he flopped down unceremoniously on the bed and curled up. “Cooold~” he complained, even as he started to drift off right away.

If he went to Louisiana in the summer, Gryphon would drown in his own sweat. He didn't want that. But if Kodi asked... he wasn't sure he would. Hopefully not. He shrugged, "I know." He gave the dentokinetic a peck on the nose, "I like making you feel special."

"Mmm, yeah. That's what it says. Poor thing could hurt himself otherwise." He pouted at the thought, and then smiled at Kodi, "I think this will be fun." Bunnies were always cute. And they weren't cats.

"Ahh." Now he understood. Once he said it, it felt kind of obvious, and Gryph gave a bit of a sheepish expression. "You seem happier when you're calmer." That was one reason. He listened as Kodi elaborated, with a slightly concerned expression, "Well... you know you can call me if you need me. I'll always answer if I can, even if it's three in the morning." A sad smile crossed his face. It was hard to cope on your own. His expression brightened a little at the next subject matter, "Angels don't all need wings. Ach, whatever." He gave in, "You believe what you want to believe." He softened and tilted his head at Kodi, "So am I." That was what he hoped.

Gryphon chuckled, "Drama queen." He accused, following slowly behind, and looking down at that lump of a boy, still smirking, "Yeah, I get it." He pulled a blanket over the complainer and slid in next to him, brushing back his hair a little. "Go to sleep, silly." Which he was obviously was already doing. Gryph didn't want to sleep right now, but he'd keep an eye on his lover as he dozed. Hopefully, his dreams would be peaceful.
