Sydney couldn't help but notice the way his complexion had turned red yet again. She didn't really understand why, but she could feel the sudden rise of nerves that accompanied it. "Well, it's just that in stories, sexual acts always seem to be tied to the concept of romance or love. It always seems to be presented as a necessary component..." Her voice trailed off. "I don't anything about either really." Another pause. "Am I making you uncomfortable?" Of course, she could feel his anxiety which was a strong indicator.
Her response when he asked if she'd show him if he agreed, her response was automatic. She hit him. Well, more like swatted his shoulder. "Even I know that's not something you're supposed to ask," she said dryly. And yet he kept staring. "Well, stop it!" she said, turning her body away from him slightly, feeling uncomfortable as she realized just what he had been focusing on.
She huffed as he pointed out the irony to her. "Yeah, I know," she grumbled. "That doesn't mean I don't feel anything though," she pointed out petulantly. Still, he leaned in closer and managed to even sort of slip in a compliment - his double negative meant that she was in fact swell after all. "It's not that funny though..."
He grinned at her and she could feel the pride he felt at her mention of the kiss. The way he leaned in just then... it reminded her of the library and for a moment she thought he might kiss her again. She also noted the way her pulse quickened for a moment and the slight sinking feeling when he pulled away. Had she wanted him to? How odd.
Sydney shook her head. "No. You're like... a pinball. Your emotions bounce from one emotion to the next and sometimes you'll go through three different ones in the time it takes to blink. And they're always so strong too. Like you go between extremes," she explained. "For me... I don't know. It's more subtle usually. Unless I get angry. I do have a bit of a temper it seems. Otherwise..." She gave a small shrug. "It's all confusing enough with a clear mind, I don't know how you do it." There was a note of awe in her voice, like she was impressed as well as curious.
