Gryph awoke peacefully, really. Which was nice. He was glad Kodi hadn't had any night scares or anything, and he was nice and comfortable, all curled up in his sheets as he yawned and stretched a little, curling his toes. He hadn't noticed the severe lack of a person next to him until he opened his eyes.
Or that this wasn't his room. Or even his apartment. And there was hair in his mouth, ew... when did his hair get that long... and dark...? Man, this was confusing Gryphon was officially confused. He sat up and called out quietly, "...Kodi?" He hoped his boyfriend would appear from somewhere, from the doorway nearby, and explain where they were or... or something, but no one appeared. And this room... it was familiar but not at the same time... he couldn't pinpoint it really, but Gryphon was starting to feel downright traumatised by this. Was it just a dream? A misplaced memory? What was this? Last thing Gryph remembered was kissing Kodi on the forehead and holding him close as they fell asleep... and now the boy wasn't even here? What was happening?
Gryphon just shook his head and stood up slowly, yawning again as he shuffled towards the mirror he'd seen nearby. The sight he saw was so unfamiliar it was painful. He just stared back at his own wide-eyed, longer-haired, mildly-bearded reflection with complete awe and confusion. Because it shouldn't have been his reflection. It was... it was...
"...Oriel." Gryph clasped his hands over his mouth, stumbling backwards slightly. That wasn't his voice. He sounded too similar to the New Yorker that this body belonged to. It then occurred to him... no bird communication... no... w-wings... Gryphon swallowed back his sadness at these thoughts and did the first thing that seemed logical once he was composed.
Calling himself.
He located Oriel's phone and began scrolling through the contacts, after having seen the call log with an alarming number of calls between him and Phoenix, which he basically tried to ignore. Gryphon looked for his own name and was surprised to find it listed as suck, considering this was Oriel and he had a certain affinity to the name 'Turkey' in relation to Gryph. He called the number, and the moment there was a response, he began his accusations, "Oriel, what the fuck did you do?" He said, automatically assuming their bodies had actually been switched, "Give me my body back!" He demanded, growling as he thought of Oriel lying next to his boyfriend, "And don't you dare lay a finger on Kodi."
