Jacob Tapper

Jacob Tapper - known by most simply as Jake - is a trans-dimensional perceiver; as soon as he touches you, he can see you in a different dimension. Or something. He's still trying to figure out exactly what it is that he sees, but he's always happy to share his vision with you. Just don't bug him to do it while he's working on something.

Friends

Jacob is a friendly guy, so it's only natural that he'd have plenty of friends. That said, he's not new to Hammel but I am, so I'm hoping to find some "pre-established friends" for him to already have made, as well as some new acquaintances with whom he can build friendships. It would be kind of cool if he had a reputation around the school for "reading people" using his power, so maybe that's how people know of him even if they aren't close to him yet. But if you want a jogging buddy, pick-up basketball player, or just a cool guy to hang out with, apply within!

Enemies

Jake doesn't lose his temper easily, so making enemies isn't something he's good at. That said, he loathes those who are disrespectful, condescending, or just plain mean, so if you've got a character who's a bit of a jerk or a bully, then maybe we can have some fun allowing them to butt heads.

Lovers

He ain't got one. Jacob is bisexual but has been single all his life. He actually hasn't explored his sexuality all that much - any of it - so the whole girlfriend or boyfriend thing remains somewhat elusive to him. Add to that the fact that he's sometimes reluctant to touch other people (if he's not concentrating on not getting a vision, it sometimes happens without warning), and it's possible he may remain single for a while yet. But hey, if you're interested, don't let that stop ya.

Trainer

Jacob is in need of a trainer. He's got a pretty firm grip on his power by now, but he still spends a lot of time trying to understand what exactly his visions are/mean. Additionally, he's interested in trying to extend the period of time the visions last (right now they last just a few moments, long enough for him to look around and see what's going on), and to limit the side effects, which are bearable but somewhat painful. I'm hoping to give him a trainer who pushes him to improve, doesn't coddle him too much (especially when he gets frustrated), and sees his potential.

Julia Taylor

Forty | Heterosexual | Married | Bit of a mess

Julia Taylor - known by her students as Mrs. Taylor and close friends as Julie - is an English teacher at Hammel. She is married with a three-year-old daughter, thus her spare time is usually spoken for. She has precognition, meaning she can scan the future within limits. She has social anxiety, and does not warm up to new people easily, but she is a good friend to those she knows well.

Friends

As already stated, Julia has social anxiety so is not great at making new friends. That said, her anxiety is not completely crippling: once she gets to know someone, she can be a loyal friend. She is most likely to be friends with other Hammel staff members, and other adults around her age. Bonus points if they share some of her interests and hobbies, like reading and writing, parenting, and cheese of all kinds.

Enemies

Julia doesn't have an enemy to speak of, yet. It's not in her nature to fight people, as she can scan the future to see whether an argument will go her way or not and try to act accordingly. That said, she does have a moral compass, so she is most likely to butt heads with people who think they are above the rules or who are cruel to others.

Lovers

Julia is happily married (to an NPC) and has a three-year-old daughter, Stefanie, so she is well-spoken for in the love department. At this time, I'm not looking to get her into anything, but if the right occasion came along for some kind of "temptation" plot, I might consider it.

• Johnathon Clark (NPC)

Students

Julia teaches English classes and has been at Hammel for nearly ten years, so most students will have her for a class at some point, or at least have heard of her. If your student character is interested in reading or writing, or sharing creative ideas, then they might take a liking to Mrs. Taylor and vice-versa.

[Maxwell Esposito]

Hi there!!

Jacob seems like a great character and id love to plot with him.

Specifically I think my character Max could have an interesting relationship with Jacob. They're probably in the same grade (Max is a senior) and Max is also bisexual but hasn't explored his sexuality. However, Max has the kind of pessimistic attitude that Jacob may find off putting. While he's not a bully, he can definitely be mean and cold and doesn't make the best life choices.

Hello LoveIsEnergy! Welcome to Hammel!

Jacob seems like an awesome character, and I have a couple who'd probably work well with him in one way or another, let me know what you think!

Jacob/Aerina - Rina is a recent transfer student from India. She's super short, loves makeup and cosmetics, and dancing. She's a bubbly thing and is partially enrolled at the local university while she attends Hammel. I think she'd have some star-eyes for an older, good-looking boy like Jacob. I'm not necessarily looking for a ship, just people for her to get stary-eyed over, and if one thing leads to the other then oh well. She happens to be a cheerleader, so it's likely they'd know of each other from basketball games.

Jacob/Jackson - Jackson is also on the basketball team, and a complete suck up, teacher's pet. Though underneath it all, he has a pretty bad attitude towards people and can be incredibly judgmental. I can see these two either being casual friends, or casual enemies. It really depends on how their interactions would have gone so far.

I have a whole clan of other characters if you'd like to rifle through them and see who else looks good for a thread. It's not updated, so my other two characters Mei Seomoon and Victor Price aren't on there yet, but they will be soon! My plot page is HERE, so feel free to take a look. XD

Maxwell Esposito  - That could be really interesting. I imagine their personalities might clash if Maxwell is constantly down about something. But if I look perhaps too far into the future, some kind of love(lust?)-hate relationship might develop. Like, they don't actually get along but find other uses for one another, if ya know what I mean.

@ophelia16 - That sounds like a fun idea. I can't imagine Jacob would be interested in a fifteen-year-old, but I like the concept of Aerina crushing on him or something. If she's very bubbly as you say, then maybe she floats on over to him after a game to make herself known to him. That's an easy thread idea.

@ophelia14 - Is that Seungri?? Funny coincidence, he is actually my husband I find him rather appealing. If he's on the basketball team, then they would definitely know one another. What's more, I see in your plotter that Jackson occasionally does homework for other people; I can definitely see Jake taking advantage of that, since he's bad at math and doesn't want to put in the effort necessary to improve. So maybe a thread could have something to do with that. Or maybe they're preestablished friends, but Jackson says something judgy that gets on Jake's nerves, so there's a fight. Let me know if anything sounds good to you!

Aerina/Jacob - That sounds like an easy thread, yes. Just her little self going over to bug one of the cool older basketball players who curiously reminds her of her older brother(all older boys remind her of her older brother). And she will be giggly and cute and will try to trick a date out of him and by the end of the conversation they will be practically husband and wife! -ahem- I mean…. No she is not that crazy… >>

Jackson/Jacob - Looool, I seeeeee~ Well, I find him rather appealing too. ;D (We also have TOP, GD, and Dae floating around here, just fyi) But yeah, they’d probably know each other from the basketball team. Jackson’s not really outwardly ill-mannered, so it takes some pushing and probing to find out how judgmental he can be. His grandmother died this past summer, though, and the stress from that and changing his living situation has made him a bit more touchy lately though, so he might let something slip these day then try to cover it up with an obvious lie. He’s never been in a fight before in his life, so it’d be interesting if that actually happened between these two. Also, he’s in complete and utter denial about his sexuality, but has been exploring it a lot more recently, so miiiight be daring enough to give Jacob a bit of a look-see in the locker room. Not sure if that can go anywhere, but I do plan on having Jackson cheat on his girlfriend with all the boys~ What sounds more plausible here, do you think?

@ophelia16 - This definitely sounds fun! Having very little experience himself with flirtation or relationships, it would probably never occur to Jake that whatever Aerina was planning was a "date." So she might be very successful in that endeavor. By the way, do you have any idea how the sports work at Hammel? Do they play other schools, or is it intramural? Mostly asking because that would provide important background details for a thread. I'd be happy to start one for them.

@ophelia14 - Hmm, well it seems to me like it wouldn't really be natural for Jackson (who isn't outwardly antagonistic) and Jake (who just doesn't like to argue in general) to get into a fight. So that might cross off that idea. Your other idea sounds a heck of a lot more entertaining, anyway haha. Jake hasn't experimented with his sexuality, either, so it would be kind of fun to put them in a situation where they felt they could do that together. The fact that Jake isn't looking to rush into anything and Jackson is already spoken for makes the stakes really low or really high, depending on whether we wanted this casual and fun(ny) or more "plotty." What do you think??

But yes I think this is a great idea, and would love to translate it into some threads. My personal thought was they would at least know of eachother since they've both been at hammel for a bit and probably have a few classes together. Do you have any ideas for threads?

Jackson - Yeah, that’s what I thought. As for their ‘experimentations’….nyeheheheheh…. I don’t mind it being casual. Funny is preferred. The more dramatic is best. I’m not sure how to steer that, but seeing how they start would be, well, a start! If Jackson could get caught by someone who knows his girlfriend, that’d be best. I also wonder what Jacob would think if he learned that Jackson was actively cheating? And not just with him? Would that make him punch him?

Maxwell Esposito - Hmm, good question. I definitely agree they'd be familiar with each other already. I notice Maxwell likes to go on long walks, and Jake likes to go on long jogs. Maybe Jake manages to convince Maxwell to go jogging with him one day. Since they're both predisposed to doing a lot of deep-thinking while doing so, that would be an opportunity for them to open up about the things they think about. It's interesting that Maxwell's father has passed away, and Jake is very worried about his own father's health. That could be something for them to commiserate over, or not.

I noticed your character got groundskeeping detention, and I was going to suggest Jake could happen to jog past on the track, but then I noticed that thread was like four months ago LOL. Then again, it IS timewarp season, hmmmm...

Well, let me know if any of that sounds appealing, or if you have any ideas!

Ha! Okay this shall be very amusing for everyone then. I think an initial locker room scene filled with discreet peeking and heaped with awkwardness as you first suggested is a great way to start it. I'm sure we'll do it very tastefully...

I'm down to contribute to any relationship drama you're hoping to get out of this. I actually haven't worked through how Jake would feel about helping someone cheat, so... it'll be fun to find out! It would be kind of interesting if Jake felt cheated-on despite knowing Jackson was cheating in the first place... ugh the feels

Max would probably not immediately open up to Jake about his father. Though if Jake started asking too many questions (maybe regarding seeing his father in a vision or something in the sort) Max would probably have some sort of emotional outburst about it since thats how he deals with his feelings. And while I can't see Max agreeing to go for a jog right now, maybe later down the line he'd be willing. 

I do, however, like the idea of Jake passing Max at detention. And while that particular thread is from months ago, it is HIGHLY likely that Max has received detentions since then and one of them may as well be to do some upkeep on the work he'd started. 

So if you'd like to go that route that would be great (: We just have to decide who starts the thread!

That definitely works for me. Do you want to start the thread just so you can set up where Max is and what he's doing? Then I'll know what to have Jake "run" into, pun intended . I think that probably makes the most sense, what do you think?

And we're assuming they already know each other and are perhaps on friendly-ish terms, yes?

Hey, welcome to Hammel.

I have Serena Varsair who might be good for plotting with Jacob. She's on track, she loves exercise and outdoors and absolutely loves making friends. She wouldn't care at all about his power (assuming that is a plus here), and would find him cute for sure.

She's also still relatively new to the school, so if you want to play off meeting her for the first time or only barely knowing her, we can do that.

So yeah, they can be friends, and if Jacob so desires, can be friends with benefits (as Serena is not a monogamous romance girl).

If any of that works for you or you have other ideas, let me know.
