Bunny was starting to get just a little confused. Some of the things Jackson was saying didn’t seem to make a whole lot of sense, like his comments about her cakes (she could make plain ones without a lot of frosting and richness!), but she still didn’t grasp that the two were trying to out-do each other. Her smile had faded a little by the time the blonde talked about doing simple kitchen things. “I guess…” she replied, her voice wavering slightly. “But I don’t know anyone that can’t do at least those things…” But then again, what did she know?
Her smile fell a little more when Jake initially turned down her offer to bake, but brightened again at his offer. “Okay!” she chirped, wondering what she might be able to ask him to provide for her. Fortunately, he seemed to already know. “Oh, that would be great!” she exclaimed. “I do have a lot of questions still…” At the mention of ‘showing’, though, her cheeks reddened again and she remembered what she had seen in the locker room. “O-okay, um… okay…” she stammered, wringing her hands together nervously. “Only, um, if you’re comfortable, though…”
But then Jackson was offering the exact same thing, and Bunny became torn. “You will…?” she asked slowly, turning to look up at him. “Oh… I-I’m sorry, maybe I should have asked you before…” Before she’d sneaked into the locker room. But how was she supposed to know that he wouldn’t think it was weird for her to ask those sorts of questions? Bunny looked down at their hands as Jackson’s wrapped around hers, and her heart started beating quickly in excitement. He was holding her hand! Here, in public! She almost missed the two boys’ interaction after that, so flustered that she didn’t know what to say. “I-I, um…” What were they talking about? Something about… Doing important things…
Whatever it was, Bunny had hit the point where her emotions ran just high enough for her ability to get a mind of its own. Still in the arms of Jackson, the tiny girl shifted and became a tiny boy, still in the dress she was wearing previous to the shift; the bow in her hair became untied and fell on the floor now that there was nothing for it to stay wrapped around. “Oh… Oh gosh, oh no, I’m so sorry…” she whimpered, hiding her face behind her hands. This was so embarrassing! “I-I should… I should go…” Bunny wanted to go hide in the bathroom until she calmed down enough to shift back, and before someone laughed at her for being a boy in a frilly dress (it had happened before).
