Despite his current condition Grayson was very determined to make it through to the new year and he had always been a very stubborn person so he was confident that he would persevere. "I told you I wasn't!" he protested childishly. Charlie was definitely correct about the rest, though, the only thing about his retorts and come-ons that changed was that they were usually more effective when he was at least mostly sober.
He shook his head, confirming that yes he indeed keep shitty company, and he hoped for the sake of his mood that he didn't press the matter. He didn't really care what this guy thought of what he did with his life and who he did it with, and it wasn't his business anyway. He made a face at the trace amounts of what looked like pity on the guy's face, "I don't care what they do." His voice level and without humor, letting him know that the subject was closed.
Grayson was back to grinning again right after, "I'm sure if I would really consider it lucky to have you stay around," he teased at his comment though he did actually play with the idea of maybe hanging around the guy more. Okay, and maybe he was angling to try and sleep with him later down the road, it was hard not to want to try when the guy turned him down. He wasn't even bad looking either, he rather liked the way he looked actually, he wasn't something he'd seen a dozen times before and he appreciated that. Plus.... he glanced at his ass when he stood behind him he looked fucking amazing from behind too.
"I'm not some chick you gotta escort home you know, " he could tell that Charlie wasn't too happy about the trek they were about to undergo, "I'm cute and all but no one's gonna steal me or anything."
There was a snort at his boast before he rolled his eyes and slapped a hand against his puffed out chest, "Ever hear of over compensation?" Though, he had no room to talk considering his boasting in the room earlier. He fixed him with an unsure look, he didn't care if the guy was calling it quits just to escort him home, that was his decision, but he wished it was easier to concentrate so he could tell if he was lying. He hated feeling lied to, but he was too drunk to get a good read on what he was saying.
Grayson followed him into the elevator, taking his advice and leaning against the elevator wall for support and sighing in relief and closing his eyes at the feel of the cool metal against his face. He was pretty sure the makeup he'd gotten Kodi to do on his eyes was a bit more smeared and smoked out than was intended. But whatever, he party was over for the night anyway it seemed. "What're you doing that for?" he asked when he peeked an eye open to look at him, okay so maybe he had been staring at his ass too but him covering his mouth had gotten his attention.
