Frankly, if my teachers get snappy, it provides much more entertainment than a typical class. But that’s just me. On a normal day, yes, Chase was quite capable of laughing off Vin’s comments, and coming back at him. As established about six hundred times, he just isn’t in the mood today. At least he has an excuse. Granted, an excuse that shouldn’t be carrying over to his work, but really, can you blame the guy? ... Yay filler?
Vincent had absolutely no idea how tempting an idea that was. And technically, it was no different from him sticking a knife through his hand. And at the very least, more entertaining. “Whatever, Vincent. Do whatever you want.” Was that license for him to go back and play with Ema until class was over? ... Maybe. Though Vincent’s little celebration made him sigh and the little smile dropped from his face. “I smiled because you’re an idiot.” This was a little more like he usually was with Vin.
Of course, that didn’t last long. Chase had told him simply because, well, he had to cheer the hell up. However, that plan backfired in a major way. Once upon a time, he probably would have reacted the same way Vincent was doing now. Hell, if someone had told him at nineteen that he’d be married and looking to adopt in nearly twenty years time, he would have done exactly what Vin was doing. Double over laughing. But when Vincent switched gears, well... then... Chase wasn’t amused. He wasn’t about to tell Vincent exactly who they were looking to adopt. Since he’s actually gone a bit paternal, these kinds of jokes just weren’t appreciated anymore. “VERAX.” Cue the angry teacher voice. “Jesus Christ.” His patience was officially burned out. Had Vincent actually sat quietly and practiced, he might have lasted the entire lesson. “Y’know what, Verax? You’re done. Out.” He motioned to the door. “You can’t behave, you’re not practicing, and I’m giving you detention.” Oh Vincent, see where your delinquency gets you?
