Forget About the R&R [Rima]

Rima shrugged as the conversation on cars came to a close. Gerri was proving that she could pull a hell of a lot of mischief and pranks when she wanted to as well, or so Rima thought by the younger girl’s attitude.

“You are right, we might just be better off to ask tomorrow.” At hearing Gerri’s stomach growl, so did her own. Rima laughed. “Besides, I don’t think that an adult needs to be pestered before they’re getting ready to eat and settle down for the evening. Trust me, from experience, adults tend to get kinda grouchy.” Her nose wrinkled slightly at the mention, and Ri did have good experience. Nannies didn’t truly care about much other then food and being paid.

“Yuck.” Rima screwed up her face in reference to meds. “Well, at least you can take meds. When I get these migraines that’s light and sound sensitivity and extreme pain. Well, after I started getting passed around to human doctors, I was put on meds. So now, normal treatments like,” She said, and waved a hand as she gave the list. “Aspirin, ibuprofen, and stuff don’t work for me anymore.”

Gerri smirked when Ri’s stomach echoed her own. “Well, it sounds like our stomachs feel the same way.” She stuck out her tongue in disgust of grouchy adults. “I know right? They always have to ruin the fun.” She never had a nanny, but she shared in the other girl’s sentiments nonetheless. In her own experience, it was normally teachers putting down lines, walls, and restriction on her fun. She was definitely one to get in trouble with a poorly executed scheme or two that an adult found less-than-appropriate.

A wry smile found her lips. “I’m very sorry about that. I don’t know what I would do if meds didn’t work on me. Probably die.” She might have sounded a bit melodramatic, but little did Anni know, that was the truth. “So if those things don’t work, does anything help? Like home remedies? Or do you just have to suffer?” she asked with a frown.

“Well, I’m getting restless!” Gerri said suddenly and jumped up from the couch she was sitting on. She stretched out her arms and yawned before bothering to explain herself. “I don’t like to sit for so long. Do yah wanna play pool or something?” In all honesty, she didn’t like many indoor games, but she wasn’t sure if Ri liked to play sports and didn’t want to impose that on her. Besides, her earlier run was enough activity to satiate her need.

“Definitely.” Rima said with a proud smirk, speaking of adults and their rules, regulations, and borders.

Her nose wrinkled slightly at the thoughts of her headaches. “I haven’t tried many. But ice dulls the pain a bit, sometimes. Usually darkness can help too. But other then that, nothing really works. Suffering is the only option I have when it comes to the headaches.” Ri shrugged.

A mask of horror lit her face. “Don’t die! I have to have at least one person to get along with in this convoluted Meta-human life of mine,” She smiled, only half joking. Really, Rima did like and enjoy Gerri and her company. The little girl was sweet and seemed to have a similar attitude.

“Outside activities…” She stood up. “The pool sounds nice. I haven’t been in it in a while.” The crisp air sounded nice too, along with the dull scent of chlorine that would be near the pool. Swimming was a very good, very calming exercise.

"Ew," she said with a complementing nose scrunch. Suffering was never a pretty thing, and it was something the girl hated to see, especially in other people. "I'm truly sorry about that." Gerri wondered if Ri's shrug meant she took her ailment lightly, or if she just didn't care anymore. It was a gesture that she certainly didn’t understand anyway, because she’d never take anyone’s, let alone her own, suffering lightly.

As Ri put on her horrified façade, the thirteen-year-old frowned, only to find that the girl was just joking once again. “Oh, no, no!” she retorted with a giggle, “I’m sure I’ll be fine.” Likewise, Gerri would be devastated if something were to happen to Rima. The two were really hitting it off, and she was extremely thrilled to have this new friend.

Gerri grinned. “The pool it is.” She walked around the couches to stand closer to the lounge’s exit. “I’ve gotta go change and grab a towel, and I assume you hav’tah too, unless you’re hiding a swim suit under your clothes,” she joked. Resting her hand on the doorknob, she turned around to face her new friend as a devious spark lit her eyes. “We can meet at the pool in…ten minutes or so?”

“Last one there’s a rotten egg!” she shouted, and with that Gerri flung the door open and sprinted towards the girl’s dorms.
