Unexpected encounters[Fifi]

[Izuru Kiro]

Classes had just let out for the day that Friday afternoon so the school hallways were pretty packed. Because alot of people were standing around talking or getting things from there lockers. After the second bell rang a little blond scurried out of one the classrooms with a blue bag over his shoulder. The blond made a face at all the people that were in the hallway at the moment. He had being in a small area that had way too many people then it should have. Hallways were just not the place for a large amount of people to be with its skinny appearance. And shy kids plus the large amount of people and hallway did not mix either. After closing his eyes briefly the blond began to shuffle forward down the hall. When he reached three girls talking he tried squeeze by them saying:" Uh excuse me" in a really shy voice. The girls looked at him like he was stupid and moved to the side carelessly. Before beginning to whisper things to each other. Izuru stumbled slightly at the girls sudden movement and made small sound. After gain his balance he bit his lip slightly and looked away from the girls.

The blond then continued on his way down the hallway to find a place that had less people. The large crowd was starting to freak him out ,because there seemed to be no space to even walk. And he left the blond thinking that he would bump into some at every turn. Which would turn into getting someone made at him. Zu hated yelling and never wanted to get anyone mad at him. Iz let another shy squeak when someone hit his shoulder on there way by him. Taking a small deep breathe he slipped out the door into the courtyard. The blond felt slightly better when he saw that there was barely any people out there. Now he only had to find a spot where he could sit quietly by himself. After pulling his strap closer to his his neck he spotted a lonely oak tree with no one near it. Zu Chan stared at it for a couple moments and then made his way over to it. After placing his bag down on the ground he took a seat near it. And the pulled his bag into his lap and let go a long sigh to try and calm himself down. Because he was still a little stressed out from the whole hallway situation.

Fifi didn’t usually bother with classes on Friday, but a friend had texted her with an urgent message just before her final class of the day had begun. Well it was too late to skip out now. She sat in the backrow the entire time, staring at the clock and willing it to go faster. When the bell rang, she leapt up out of her seat and screamed “SHIT yeah! It’s the weekend!” Bolting out of the room, with her friend in tow by the wrist, she shoved her way through the hallways and managed to slip through without much of an effort. She had no bag (capital slacker, here) and so no obstructions. When her friend fell behind, Fifi cut her loose.

She managed to bump into a particularly sassy senior, who told her off with a few choice words. Fifi retorted with a “Well move your fat jealous ass faster outta my way you ho. Christ!” Before she disappeared out of the school doors. It was like hitting a wall of silence. She took in a deep breath of the cool air and smacked her lips. “Tasty Vermont sunshine~.” She chirped as if she hadn’t just bitten the head off of a fellow student.

That’s when she caught it. The glinting sheen from several yards away under a tree. She squinted, gaping with a wide ‘o’ of a mouth at the sight. Perfect. Blonde. Hair. “Ohmygod Kill yourself.” She said in shock, putting her hand over her heart in a swoon. Dramatic? Yes. And totally Fifi.

Fluffing her own short, dark hair around a head, she made a bee-line for what she assumed was a girl. When she drew close enough however, she could see it was a boy. She raised her eyebrows and snuck up behind him from the opposite side of the oak tree. A fairly handsome boy. “Hey Heaven.” She cooed, leaning around the tree just a few inches about Izu’s head, using the nickname ‘Heaven’ instead of ‘Cutie’ or ‘Handsome.’ “I really like your hair. You must take great care of it, yeah?” She offered, easing herself into conversation. He was sitting all alone, so she assumed he wanted to be left that way. Usually though, Fifi got what she wanted. Right now? She wanted to talk to this guy.

Izuru let go a small sigh as he stared the grass at his sides. Bored as he was he wanted to play with a blade of grass out because of it. Biting his lip slightly the blond touched the tip of the blade with his finger tips. He kept it like that for several moments as if he was waiting for something bad to happen. Like something along the line of his powers deciding to be bad. The little blond still did not have full control of his powers. So most of the time when he was around plants he was afraid to touch the with his bare hands. Because he was afraid they would grow ten feet tall or more. He was even afraid they would grow teeth and eat the nearest person it could fine. Sure it was a ridicules thought ,but the skinny framed blond came up with every possible problem that could occur. The blond bit his lip a little harder and pulled his hand into his lap as he heard foot steps sloshing quickly across the grass. Figuring it was just some younger kid runner around playing he kept his eyes focus on the tips of his converse shoes.

But seconds later he heard a women’s voice say hey heaven into his ear. Izuru eyes widen slightly in fright and scooted slightly forward. To look at a women who had just called him heaven and complimented his hair. Zu stared at her in silence as a couple kids ran by them. Shyly the blond brought his hand his bottom lip as he tried to calm himself once again. Before the women had arrived behind him he was slightly calmer, from the hallway incident. But now his heart was beating a mile a minute again because the lady had almost scared him half to death. The bit his lips again wondering if he shoulder move closer to the lady or stay where he was. By the ladies weird name for him the blond deiced that staying the inch he was away was the safest even though it wasn’t that far. "Um uh Hi.... uh thank you I um do I guess.” He finally squeaked out the brunette women shyly. After removing his hand from his mouth and putting his hand in his lap. A short second later the blond looked to his lap slightly. While wondering what the lady meant when she called him heaven. He didn’t think he looked by a heaven name wise in his opinion. So, he figured he must be related to something else that wasn’t in his vocabulary for they word. He always thought it was a the place you go when you pass on. But now he learned the it had new meaning that he was yet to learn.

Fifi blinked her big, bugged out eyes at him, quirking an eyebrow in confusion. Well it wasn’t like she was going to bite him (unless he asked nice). Did she really look that scary? She looked over herself, down at her black t-shirt and short’s, all the way down to her glimmering bronze flip-flops. Nope. Nothing really scary. Unless you didn’t really like pale skin. Fifi smirked at the thought. Who didn’t like a little bit of skin? Come on!

“Well that’s good.” She said softly, nodding encouragingly. Man, this kid was a mess! Shy and stammering…Fifi thought it was kinda cute, but also kind of depressing. She couldn’t tell how old this blonde stranger was, but he was no little boy. Fifi placed him at only a year younger or older than she was, probably the exact same age. There was a swagger about her, a confidence that spoke to some unseen mischief. Really, she just liked this kid. It was like finding a stray kitten.

“I’m Fifi. What’s your name, handsome?” She inquired cheekily, emerging fully from behind the tree to lean against it with her arms crossed over her chest.

Izuru watched the girl look at what she was wearing briefly. And wondered why she was doing such a thing. The blond bit his lips slightly and looked down at the grass again. As a small bug fly by his face in a swift motion. Iz let out a small soft squeak in surprise before moving back slightly. he probably looked stupid but he was just be cautious in his book. The little blond was never a fan of scary looking bugs. Because he thought that they might land on him and bite him. Which would then probably cause and undesired after effect. Sure it was stupid ,but you could never be too careful these. Izuru made a face at the spot where the bug was before looking back up at the brunette girl.

Who had just come out from behind the large tree. After emerging she introduced her self to the young blond. Before asking him what his name was followed by another compliment. Zu blushed a dark pink at the sound of being called handsome. It embarrassed him slightly because he wasn’t usually called stuff like that all the time. In fact he never remember being called that by anybody. So ,he wondered what the girl could be thinking if she was calling him all those things to describe his appearance. " Um uh its nice to uh meet you Fifi Chan." he said to her in a shy tone as he pulled his bag closer to his chest. As a couple more kids walked out of the building and into the courtyard. " I'm Uh Izuru" he said in the same tone with a small lip bit afterward. Still embarrassed by the word handsome his eyes went down slightly to look at his shoes.

Figuring no one was going to steal it the blond placed his backpack by his side. But kept it so it was touching his leg slightly. So, he would feel it if it was moved in any way. The blond looked at the bag briefly and then put his hands in his lap. And looked up to the girl again to see if she had said something more. So ,far nothing so he reached into his bag and pulled out a water juice box. After popping the straw in he began to drink it cutely while waiting for the girl to speak again.

It was really hard not to laugh at Izuru’s squeaking. It proved to be too hard for Fifi, who giggled lightly from behind her hand. “Really, its only a bug.” She said with surprise. Sure, she’d freak out if a bug landed on her, but she’d never squeak just when one flew by a little fast. “It can’t hurt you.” She added. She had the feeling that word got around with bugs. They tended not to really land on her anymore, and when they did, they dropped dead fairly fast. It wasn’t hard to overdose a bug.

“Chan?” She asked. “Whats that?” Fifi wasn’t particularly culturally sensitive, so she had no idea of the meaning or use to the honorific. She sat cross-legged across from him, leaning against the large tree. “Izuru, hm?” She repeated, tilting her head and regarding him. It was probably a little racist to assume he was foreign, but Fifi never really had a problem being racist (she was, and she knew it). HE looked different, he acted different…he was probably different. “Not from around here, are you?” she asked, tangling her fingers absently in the grass.

Looking over at Izu skeptically, she decided easily that no: Izuru was not from around here. No one really drank juice boxes after the age twelve, and especially no one drank them as childishly as Izu was doing. Certainly Fifi found it adorable, but she also found it telling. Izuro was an absolute doormat, in Fifi’s mind: someone who was quiet, and laid down for others. Never standing up. Never making a move. Never making noise. Fifi couldn’t say she liked people like that usually, but she could say she would be useful. ‘Usefullness’ was about the only thing keeping her in conversation with the blonde boy. “Where are you from?”

Izuru bit his lips slightly when the girl giggled at bit at his actions. Before looking down at the grass when she told him it was just a bug. The little blond knew that , but he still didn’t like them. Because you never knew which ones would come out and attacks you. Alot of the ones that did that had a dangerous bite. Izu had no clue how to tell the difference between the two groups. Because all of them had pretty creepy features on them. The only bugs he did not mind was butterflies , because he liked to look at the colors on their wings. The more colors the better they looked to him. " I know uh I’m sorry I’m uh paranoid i guess." he told her in response to her comment about the bug.

He looked up again when she asked what the word chan was. Izuru made a face at that in his thoughts hoping she didn’t take it as an insult. Because it was not one it was a Japanese honorific that meant a friend that is a girl. Others were kun for friends that were boys, sama was for someone that was highly respect and san was very close to that. The girl then asked is he was from around here. The girl was right he wasn’t , he was from Japan. Izu watched the girl in silence and took another gentle sip of his water.

He then noticed the girl watching and studying him while he drank. Feeling embarrassed the blond removed the straw from his mouth. Before resting the container in his lap with his hands still wrapped around it. In his head the was paranoidly thinking that she already thought he was odd , because of the way that he was drinking. Being careful not to look stupid again the blond gently lifted the water box to his mouth and took another quick sip. Before returning it to his spot in his lap just as the girl specially asked him where he was from. " Um Japan Fifi Chan" he said shyly , before remembering she didn’t know what chan meant. "Oh and don’t uh worry chan isn’t a uh insult its something you call a uh friend that’s a girl. "he added calmly before taking another sip of his water. And then returned it to rest on his lap once again.

“You don’t have to apologize, its not like you did anything wrong.” Oh yeah, total doormat. “There just isn’t really a reason to be afraid of bugs.” She said with a bit of a laugh. No one liked bugs, but seriously there were moments that people just needed to suck it up, at least in Fifi’s mind. She huffed slightly, blowing air out of her lips like a horse. “There are worse things to be paranoid of than bugs in Vermont.” She warned.

Fifi had to lean in towards Izuru whenever he spoke his voice was so soft. She wondered if he’d ever shouted a day in his life. The brunette felt if was safe to assume that he probably hadn’t, unless perhaps he was crying. She squinted slightly as well, hoping somehow that diminishing her eyesight would aide her hearing. It didn’t work that way. She scooted a few inches closer to the blond foreigner, folding her hands and tucking them under her ankles between her knees.

She nodded slowly “oooh. Well I didn’t think you were insulting me---No one is that stupid---but that’s…interesting.” It was clear in Fifi’s voice that she didn’t really think it was interesting, she thought it was weird. More specifically she thought it was useless and dumb. She at least had the tact not to mention that, though. Leaning back slightly in surprise, she tilted her head. “Japan?” Fifi retorted skeptically. “But you’re blonde…and your eyes are blue.” She questions, leaning in curiously and closing much of the space between them. She didn’t think people from the eastern countries could have blue eyes, but she was definitely in Izuru’s bubble now.

Izuru made a sad face and looked down at the grass in front of him. When the girl told him that he did not need to apologize for the bug stuff, Because the state they were in apparently had alot of that. The blond felt really embarrassed because of the girls words. So, he wondered if he should apologize for reacting in the way he did by apologizing again. But then he would be apologizing for nothing again. "Um I’m sorry.. never mind I’m sorry" the blond said sounding really shy and confused with what he was saying. He had no clue how to respond to her comment without disobeying it by saying that he was sorry again. Izu then noticed the girl leaned toward him slightly for some reason. Izu bit his lip slightly and blinked at her a couple times. Wondering what the girl could be doing leaning toward him like. He was tempted to ask but deiced that it might come off as rude. So, he deiced to keep his mouth shut and tell himself that it was not a reason that could endanger him.

Izuru was glad to hear that the girl knew he wasn’t insult her with the chan addition to her name. He was about to speak to her saying that he was glad to hear that. But the girls next words through him off a bit. She had asked why he had blue eyes and blond hair if he was from Japan. Izu bit his lip and looked down at his hands and moved them a bit before looking back up at the girl. Izuru wasn’t sure how to explain it to her ,but he had to come up with something. " I uh um think my mother 's uh mother had blond hair . So my mom was half uh Japanese and had blue eyes. So I uh guess that’s where I uh got if that uh makes sense. um yeah" he rambled slightly sounding kind of flustered. He then realized that he had rambled a bit so he mentally hit himself thinking that he had done something wrong. "Ugh I’m sorry for uh rambling like that" he said to her shyly with a guilty look on his delicate face. “Ugh I’m sorry for apologizing again” the blond cautioned shyly because he now thought that she didn’t like him saying he was sorry so much.

Fifi would have started counting the times that Izuru said ‘sorry,’ but she was worried she would get bored, so she didn’t bother. In fact, Fifi was quickly becoming bored by Izuru. Really the only thing that kept her around was the fact that she didn’t want to make him cry. By the way he seemed to be mannered, Fifi wouldn’t put it past him to start crying over something so simply as Fifi just up and walking off. Resisting the urge to roll her eyes again, Fifi just crossed her arms.

“You’re like a broken record, honey!” She said, a sassy tone in her voice indicating she was getting a little impatient with how flustered he was. Fifi wasn’t one to coddle the shy kids. If they couldn’t hack the social situations, Fifi just kicked them to the curb like the sad puppies they were. (Don’t tell Gabe Fifi would kick a puppy…even just a metaphorical one). “Its O-kay.” She slowly, emphasizing each syllable and giggling a little bit. “Christ, just cool your jets. You’ll die of an aneurism if you keep worrying about apologizing to everyone.”

Narrowing her eyes thoughtfully, Fifi nodded. “Ohh, I see. So you’re part Japanese from Japan.” She repeated. She raised her eyebrows and nodded again. “Wow, lucky you to get blonde hair out of your Japanese genes.” Fifi complimented. “It makes total sense.” Izuru was thinking right, she didn’t like him saying sorry so much, but she was starting to find it funny. She giggled ceaselessly through his stumbling apologies and just put her hand over her mouth.

“Wow man,” she said incredulously from behind her hand. “You seriously need to chill.” A wicked idea popped into Fifi’s mind and it showed on her face as she held out her hands like they were going to play a clapping game. “Here. Give me your hands. I’ll help you relax.” She offered, a mischievous glint in her eye. Using her power on others wasn’t very nice, but damn was it fun.

Izuru felt discouraged by the girls words to him and stared down at the grass. He wasn’t really sure how to even reply to that. They only thing that he could think of was the thing that made him a broken record in the first place. Which was I m sorry that I’ a broken record. Izuru bit his lip at the thought of that ,because he knew he said sorry alot on a daily basis. When he got himself in a situation that called for it in his eyes he over used it like an addiction But he never really had someone point it out this bluntly to him before. Usually the other person would say its ok and move on and not call him out on it. Izu wasn’t mad at the girl called fifi because she was right and knew it. He then sighed slightly and played with bottom his shirt.

The girl then spoke about a topic that wasn’t a shot to his ego. She told him that he was lucky to get the blond gene. " Thank you I uh think so too" he said looking up at her with a soft and shy smile . Izuru really loved his hair so he defiantly believed that it was only good thing his mother ever gave him. Other than that she never gave him anything else useful. The girls next actions was a little strange. She had asked to see his hand so she could help him relax. Izu made a cute confused face at her and wondered what she was going to do. What could she do to calm him down with just his hand. Some how a message was not something that would calm him down in his opinion. He then wondered if it had something to do with her powers. If it was he hoped it was not something that would hurt him. Biting his lip slightly he held his had out slowly. " Um ok" he said in a soft tone. Hoping that he was making the right choice in giving her his hand. The blond had many choices back fire on him in the past ,so he hoped that this one would not be one of them. Zu was already feeling a little discouraged ,so he hoped it would not be for his ego sake. The blond then bit his lip a little harder while he waited for the girl to do something.

Fifi giggled and scooted forward so that she was close enough not to have to reach to touch Izuru’s hand. At first she just cradled the back of his hand in the palm of her left hand, letting the skin of his hand simply rest against hers. Then with her right hand, she reached out and began to trace a lazy circle in Izuru’s palm. “Just wait. You’ll feel it.” Fifi sang mischievously, her finger movements light. It wasn’t the tracing that would relax Izu, but her left hand cradling his. Fifi had managed to get pretty good with her power, thanks to Gabe, and she was able to subtle let it loose on Izuru. She had to be careful though…not everyone reacted the same way.

Usually people just got drowsy and giggly, sometimes dizzy. People were more fun like that. They had less inhibitions. They said what they wanted to say, did what they wanted to do. Fifi liked people better when they were under her influence. Unfortunately, some people couldn’t hack it and got nauseas…if she held on too long, Fifi supposed he would die, though she’d never killed a person.

…not yet anyway.

“Feel anything, yet?” she asked, running her finger along the inside pads of Izuru’s fingers, her power working its magic as she went.

As the girl touched his hand a light pink appeared across his light cheeks. The blond then bit his lips slightly watching the girl's actions. Wondering why she was doing that to his hand. So ,far it really wasn’t making him feel any calmer. Just confused a really and embarrassed about what he was suppose to be waiting for. She had told him to wait ,but how long did he have to wait for this said thing to happen to him.. While he waited he watched her finger go around his palm. In attempt to see if an imaginary shape was being formed. So, far he only saw a circle within another circle." Um when does this certain thing kick in?’ he asked shyly as he put his hand down n the grass.

A short second later he made a small face to himself when he felt something weird. In the pit of his stomach he was getting this weird tingle feeling. What was she doing he wondered to himself. He then made a small nose before gripping the grass between his fingers. As his grip tightened the grass began to grow around his fingers. As if it was feeling the same annoying tingle that the blond boy was feeling. " What are you doing?" he choked out as he cheeks turned a even bright red. For some reason after saying that he felt like he had drank three bottles of sake. Spreading his fingers out the grass grew longer and extended toward the girl slightly." Am I suppose to want to uh throw up?" he asked as he bit his lip rather hard. He then bowed his head and concentrated on staring at the grass in front of his feet. Ok Izuru san deep breathes everything will be ok he tried to tell him self. As grass began to grow around him when he dug his nails into the dirt. " Um I uh think my powers are reacting to whatever your uh doing" he tried to inform the brunette girl. As the grass began to grow roses and thorns. Looking up at her he waited to see if she would respond to any of the words that he had said to her.

“Don’t worry…It’ll kick in soon enough.” Fifi murmured, though she knew he was already starting to feel it. How did she know? She could feel it too. A tingled in her toes, her fingers, her lips. A flipping feeling in her stomach. Buzz. The best kind.

She breathed out and grinned devilishly when Izu made a strange noise and leaned forward to plant his hand in the grass. He looked kinda cute with that little blush, and even cuter when it flared to a bright red. “I’m not doing anything. You’re the one making the grass grow…cool shit, by the way.” She said coyly. Clearly Izuru wasn’t referring to the grass growing, but instead the strange sensation she was making him feel. But Fifi didn’t have to admit she knew that, now did she?

The impish girl help on for a bit longer, until the blond confessed to wanting to throw up. That was when she released his hands and put her own back in her lap, watching him with an rascally delight. “No. You’re not supposed to want to throw up.” She sang, tilting her head to one side. “But you are supposed to relax. Shows how uptight you are.” She said with a little giggle. “And you’re powers aren’t reacting to anything…you’re just…” Fifi gestured vaguely, leaning back in the long grass, a vine of thorns scraping against her arms. She was unfazed by the prickling, though some of the thin scratches reddened with blood.

“You’re just losing control.”

The little blond then leaned forward toward the ground when he was released from the girls grip. He then began panting like he had just sprint down the hallway at top speed on a hot day.As he panted he tightening his grip on the grass again. Like it was a security blanket that was helping him relax. Even though the girl had let go of him the blond still felt this weird feeling pulsing through his small frame. He wondered if the girl had made him sick some how or tried to kill him. Zu pushed the second option out of his mind , because the girl didn't look the type to kill him. She was being so nice to him so why would she suddenly turn on him like. But then why was he feeling such a way now. Iz gasped slighting and loosened his grip on the grass ever so slightly. As he did the so grass wrapped around his wrist slightly. As if the grass was telling him that he needed to come down , because he was stressing it out too.

Izuru blinked at the grass on his wrist a couple times and let some air escape his lips.He then closed his eyes and made a small tired sound. Hoping his power didn't hurt any nearby people because of his lack of control when he was under hight amounts of emotional trauma. letting some more air escape his lips he looked up at the brunette girl sitting across from him. But said nothing instead he kept breathing heavily. Before noticing some blood trickled off the girls arm. There was also a vine close to her arm which he figured was his own doing. The blond made a face at it and looked down again. Before breaking his arms free from the grassy coil around his wrist. Still breathing like he had ran a Marathon his went into his bag and pulled out a first aid kit. " I'm uh so sorry about your arm. I don't have much control over my powers you are right."He told he in a some what calm tone as he opened the first aid box. " Would you like a band aid for your arm?" He asked as he held up and blue purple band aid between his fingers. While he continued to breathe heavily through his mouth. Even though he was breathe that hard it was visable that he was relaxing slightly.
