((I'm soooo sorry! RL decided to attack this week and prob a little next week, just a warning. So sorry!!!!))
Lani glanced at Jared for a moment wishing he had mind reading abilities instead of this irritating moving things power. There was no better way to stun Lani speechless than to hug him unexpectedly. He stiffened for a moment holding the perfect pose of complete indecisive shock. He smiled finally and patted Jared's shoulder. "Uh... thanks and no. Tights are a major no." He said firmly though knowing Jared that probably wouldn't matter. Perhaps it was time for Lani to make his early exit before his pride was written all over with shame. "Its true though in all seriousness." He blinked exaggeratedly and patted Jared's should again letting him know that the moment had passed and he could let go of Lani now.
Lani laughed, "The best." He mimicked at Jared's superhero comment. That poor kid, really being at a place where 'superheros' walked the halls and thinking that you had nothing even close to that must be terrible. At least Lani could gain a reputation where people would never mess with him. Lani sighed and shook his head at his young friend and dropped next to him on the couch. He couldn't help breaking into uncontrollably laughter at Jared's thoughts about a superhero suit. "Oh dear god, let that never happen." The thing Lani feared was Jared actually doing so. "I think for right now you can work on keeping your secret identity more than looking for an outfit."
He mimicked Jared's pensive nod and couldn't resist giving a gander around the room as if looking for bugs. "They are a rather depressing topic," Lani said purposefully louder than normal as if to run off the thought that someone might be watching them. "Just be glad they are physical enemies. Its the ghosties you have to worry about." Making a serious warning face that he always gave his sister when she was misbehaving. It got her very easily when she was younger but now she was a little more skeptical. Though now he had a whole new myth to hold over her. That the people here knew if people were good or not and could send people to control their minds. Probably a little unfair but a little girl wouldn't know. Though Lani would have a rather large mouth if anything like that were to happen.
Lani chucked at the jab at Dalton. "Well, you know there is nothing better than a human dictionary." He shook his head a little wondering wistfully how he was ever going to pass Dalton's class. He really was not a fan of English, but then again he never really had a good teacher. Lani blinked at Jared for a moment trying to decide whether to be insulted or laugh at the Antoine Dodson reference. Finally the latter won out. Lani shook his head at the pain killer comment that was closely followed by the mom comment. Lani simply reached over and ruffled Jared's hair beyond all hope of repair. It was clear from the blank expression that crossed over his face that he was thinking of the best way to get out of this situation. "Um... I think my mom is calling me. I should go." He slipped off the couch preparing for the mad dash to the door if need be.
