Blood will wash away [Shane]

Shane leaned back in his chair and stared at the ceiling a moment trying to decide the correct way to answer. Lie and look like a pimp or tell the truth and get teased like he had all his 'normal' life. He looked back at her from the corner of his eye wondering suddenly why she was blushing now. He decided to give it a go. Never had one. I'm... milestone slow He figured that was putting it delicately enough. He was a freak. But he'd learned to live with it.

It was weird how quickly this little meeting had turned around from fearing to talking to the girl. But she was easy enough to talk to. or 'talk' to rather. You never answered how you learned? Shane wasn't gonna let it drop it was a devoted curiosity to him when a 'speaker' could well... speak to him.

Elva narrowed her eyes at him. Your not a milestone slow. Girls just don’t take the effort to talk to you.

My mother’s mother lived in Portland and refused to buy an ear aid; I took some classes and learned it from her too. I’ve always had an interest of signing, so it was a nice hobby as well. My parents came from Ireland in the first place and my mom had me when she was sixteen. Then- She stopped, putting her hands in her lap, wondering why she had suddenly opened up to him. She could his green eyes intently watching her and she tilted her head. Then flushed red when the thought came through her mind, You want to date him.

Shane choked a little and his face light up in amusement and embarrassment. Oh I've had plenty of girls and a guy or two make more than enough effort to talk to me and get to know me. Shane felt himself getting redder and redder ... I only started puberty a few months ago... so biologically I'm the equivalent of a 13 year old. Trust me going through 3 years of puberty in about 3 months is painful. Shane's hands just kept going as he tried to recover. Why WHY the HELL had he not just let it go and let her think what she might. The bodies not suppose to grow that quickly, and other people know it's abnormal so they narrow in on you. Shane stopped and just shook his head. Glad that she'd chosen to answer him. He needed the distraction. That's really cool. You very fluid with your movements, it obvious that it comes naturally to you. Shane smiled feeling his flush go down some. My parents were in their mid twenties and lets just say I wasn't planned for.

Elva couldn’t help but laugh when he told her about the pueberty thing, but it obviously bothered him, so she recovered quickly, her wrists moving more, I’m sorry for laughing. It just seems so weird that the body would do that in three months. She really hadn’t meant to laugh and she had apologized, but it was up to him whether he forgave her or not. To try and lighten the mood she signed, Well, look at it this way, you certainly don’t look like a thirteen year old.

Oh my gosh, did I just say that? Am I insane?! She turned redder still and listened to her rambled thoughts. He was cute...sweet...funny....what did this mean? What was going through her brain? And what the hell happened to not getting close to anyone? Bit late for that.

Shane watched her laugh. The thing with not being able to hear was you could really notice the smaller things the way she positioned her hand infront of her face to hide her laugh, the gleam that shined in her green eyes, the pink that reached her cheeks. Shane smiled getting lost a little and let his guard down in time to hear the very ends of it. It was such an amazing sound that girls could great. He focused on what she signed and nodded. Well normally the body doesn't do that normally... they gave me some medications to help kick start the system and my system liked them a little too much you could say. Shane turned red again and look at the ceiling. He was going to have to ask his trainer how to handle these situations. How did one do it besides looking at the ceiling and breathing shallowly. I'll take that as a compliment. I don't think you'll find very many 6 ft 13 year olds. Shane grinned. He knew well that wasn't what she meant but had hoped to let that slide. He really didn't want another situation liked he'd had with Avery and yet this girl was making that difficult on his end. He suddenly understood a bit how and why she'd reacted the way she had.

Shane knew he needed to get the conversation on more... everyday topics before he was stuck sitting here for an unknown amount of time. He still hadn't gotten quite use to that anatomical addition that nature seemed to think funny. It amazed him constantly how easy it seemed to get 'flustered' by things around him. Do you have siblings? I have a younger sister

I have an older brother, his name is John. And two younger sisters, Rowan and Sydney. They’re both in their pre-teens, so that’s always fun. They always used to steal my clothes. She made a funny face before it got serious. I pratically raised them. My mom’s going back to school and works on the side while my dad has a full time job. It was hard...but I enjoyed taking care of my sisters, and my brother was a lot of help too. She went red. He might think she was ready to be a mom or something, but would that be so bad?

That’s true when you say it like that, but you’d make a very hot six foot thirteen year old. Her green eyes went wide and she covered her mouth. She had surely scared him off now.

I think it's great your mom had you and your brother to help out. My sister suffered from Colic when she was little and my mother couldn't handle it. I was five at the time but I still remember sitting with her for hours making faces and trying to entertain her until dad got home. My mom's a seamstress so she worked at home while we kids went to school. It worked out pretty well. Shane could see she was having difficulty talking about her self, or so he interpreted which is why he was trying to be as open as he felt comfortable with. I think my mom really wanted more than just Jane and I since she comes from a larger family but dad only wanted two.

What came from Dove's fingers next made Shane turn the brightest red of the conversation thus far. His hands moved about with not real direction as he fumbled over how to respond. How does one tactfully tell an extremely attractive woman that she is indeed attractive. um you too

Elva watched him fumble. She had smiled when he talked about his own family. Removing her hands from her mouth, she signed, I’m sorry... I don’t want to scare you off. That was the truth. She only called a few people hot in their faces and she had been dating them. Her fingers twitched for a cig, but she couldn’t have one. The doctor had taken away her cigs and her lighters and she wasn’t allowed to be caught on campus with them either.

She massaged her wrists. You must’ve noticed my anger issues by now.

Shane shook his head deciding honesty was the best policy. Just don't know how to react

Loosing the smile on his face Shane nodded a bit. Yes I noticed it. It's not my place to ask about it, I just hope I don't do anything again to end up on the receiving end of it. However, it's nice to be fair warned that I will likely end up on the receiving end of someone else's deed. Anger can be such a hurtful thing because it can be so easily spread. I don't normally get angry and yet I was less than polite to you. Have you always had problems controlling things that make you angry?

My childhood may seem full to you, but to me it was empty. I took care of my sisters 24/7. I barely saw my parents. The anger started when...well....when someone cheated on me. I knew him for three years and he cheated on me with three other girls. They all knew I was dating him, they knew. They didn’t care.

Elva realized that that was the first time she had ever told anyone of why she was so angry.

If you were to ask Shane later why he did what he did that moment he wouldn't be able to tell you. Reaching across the table he gently took her hand and gave it a squeeze Cheaters are mean people, but the world is full of them. I've never fit in, but that just makes me more special. You just have to find the right way to look at it. Should the people around you pay for the mean and evils things that one stupid boy did? It's like saying all rose's are red because you've only seen those, or all deaf people are dumb if you never heard them speak. Where had this deep insight come from. Shane didn't bother to think about it only signed the words as they came to him.

Elva blushed when he took her hand and she could he was blushing as well. I see what you mean and I will take your words into consideration. She looked down, her eyes were filling with tears. Well, I’m a crybaby aren’t I? she thought meanly. The tears still fell, she didn’t like crying, in fact, she hated it, but when someone showed they truly cared, she broke down.

Shane immediately panicked when tears started to fall from her eyes. He had to keep telling himself it's ok it's ok it's ok this is a normal girl thing... or a normal person thing. Trying not to appear worked up Shane stood a moment to calm his nerve distracting it by grabbing the box of tissues across the room. Having his thoughts a little more organized he sat and watcher her a moment. He couldn't get her eyes though. Biting his lips he finally took a breath and touched her hand again. Do you like being an angry person. I know some people just seem to be made that way. Shane looked at her with his big green eyes full of confusion. A person couldn't stop something that they themselves didn't want to change.

Elva cleared her tears and gave him a smile as she watched him sign to her. Of course I want to stop and so does my family, but I don’t get any help because their scared of me. I can kill with one skilled look, I could kill them. I don’t want that to happen. I need help to stop. Her hand wrapped around his when he touched it. She didn’t know how he would react to her like this.

There was something she couldn’t put her hand on, something about him that interested her. She wasn’t entirely sure what. Sighing, she looked into his concerned eyes, squeezing his hand gently.

Shane gave her a soft smile before taking his hand away from her. Well your family isn't here to help you or be afraid of you. I can help in anyway I can mange though. The next time you get really angry you should come talk to me...I can help you get your mind off of it. It's hard to quit a bad habit on your own. As you said it takes help to do it, it takes finding distractions. Like.... Shane held up his finger for one moment and ran off to his room. Finding his guitar he grinned and brought it back out. I play guitar when I get upset. It reminds me of my sister, my home, my father. You can't be mean to a guitar or too hard with it or it won't work right... and if it doesn't work right than it just messes up your day even more.
