JD caught the clothes Zac threw at him, then looked at the shirt. It was too small. And the pants probably wouldn't fit either. He looked at the clothes, then glanced over at Ann. Finally, he chucked them at her.
"Here," he said gruffly. "These things won't fit me anyway. Better you get to use them."
Quickly, he toweled off his head, then took off his shirt and wrung it out. He was careful not to look over at the other two, in case they were in states of indecency. Unlike certain other members of the male species, he didn't feel it was appropriate to try to sneak peeks at someone, especially when they had just saved you.
"I'm not worried about Ann--" JD started to retort, then gave it up. "Forget it. Anything I say can and will be used against me by the court of Zac." He shook his head as he dried his hair with the towel.
He wrung out his socks, then put on his wet shoes again. Glancing at the warm car, he thought about how wet he was and tried to determine if he would get warm faster if he ran home and used the exercise to heat up or if he just sat in the car and wrapped himself in the towel.
Then he looked at Zac and Ann, realizing that it would probably be a bad idea to leave the two of them alone to go back home. Especially as they would be arriving together, and the curious state of undress might be considered dubious as well. If he were there, at least he could try to explain it all as a big mistake. Or possibly just run off with one of them--he'd been doing some weight-lifitng and thought he could probably carry someone while speeding.
"Well," he said, going over to the car, "I guess I can call this a success, right? I mean, I did run on water." He tried to keep the conversation happy and hope no one would bring up the failure that had come immediately after the success.
"Ladies first," he said, holding open the door for Ann and gesturing proudly. A drip of water fell down his face from his hair, somewhat spoiling the effect. "I trust that we can all agree not to mention this to the gossip circles, yes? Who knows what kind of spin they'll put on it all."
