Katy has full control over her wings, but she just isn't very good at flying yet, so tends to just glide from high buildings or other places, occasionally flapping. The wings themselves are very similar to an angel's wings, white feathers and all. She can choose when to bring them out, but feels a sense of freedom when they aren't tucked away inside of her.

To get light enough to fly, her bones are hollow, so are extremely easy to break. She has to be very careful when walking, as a trip and fall could seriously hurt.

Any Scars? Just the odd few, standard from growing up with 12 siblings. The only recent one is on her left shin where she flew (glided, really) into a wall.
General Appearance: Very small and petite, Katy is very thin due to incredibly thin bones. She measures at 5' 6", so isn't particularly small, but weighs in at just 6 st 2 lb. This is because most of the bone mass is gone from her body, so she weighs very, very little. Katy's hair, a dirty blond colour, is usually kept long and wavy. She went through a phase of having short hair when she was 10, but it went no further than that.

Katy's not particularly curvy and doesn't tend to wear makeup. When she does wear makeup, she tends to jeep it low-key, just a bit of foundation and mascara. She hates the 'orange' fake-tan colour and will try hard to avoid it.
Katy spends a lot of time on her clothes. Everything she wears has a very large, open back, to give her wings space, if she ever needed them in short notice. This means that her wardrobe is very limited. She also wears different things according to her mood. When she's happy she'll wear brightly coloured t-shirts and vibrant colours, but when she's depressed she'll wear primarily whites and blacks, usually in a dress.

Personality: Katy (when neither high nor low) is bubbly and active and enthusiastic, always trying to do everything and be everything. She's very theatrical, often making over the top gestures and things like that. She grasps opportunities with both hands and makes the most out of them. She can be a little bratty at times, but most of the time she's friendly.

Katy has a bucket list the size of War and Peace. On it are standard things like Bungee Jumping and Skydiving, but also slightly stranger things, like eating whale. Basically she just wants to do everything she possibly can with life. This is because she believes she has half the time of everyone else in life, due to her bipolar disorder.

Katy's siblings have affected her massively. Not only do they help her in times of depression, but them just being around helps boost her confidence. Usually she is loud and energetic around her family, going into random bursts of song. She's a lot more held back around strangers and even friends; her siblings are all her friends and it would be hard to top 18 years of friendship.

Katy's bipolar disorder comes in cycles of something called hypomania, which is like normal mania but a less drastic change. Apparently after the short burst of hypomania she returns to a neutral state, called euthymia. She lends about as much time in euthymic state as hypomania, then her mood drops and she goes into a state of depression called Melancholic Depression. This means that she loses interest in what she found enjoyable before and she reacts a lot weaker to 'pleasurable stimuli'. Her doctor, when explaining all this to her, wrote it as (md). This means hypomania followed by mild depression. Honestly, Katy didn't understand most of what the doctor was saying.

Hypomania Katy, as she calls herself during the higher points of her life, shows many signs of mania, just tuned down. For instance, while she has a heightened sex drive, she won't go out and sleep with anyone. This is the same for her spending drive, her apparent lack of a need to rest, her talking speed (Hypomania Katy talks very quickly) and her attention span.

Melancholy Katy is almost a completely different person. Much like with Hypomania, her depression is only mild, so she only feels a lessened version of Melancholic Depression. The symptoms are the same, however. She doesn't react to pleasurable stimuli, like mentioned earlier, she feels an almost constant feeling of grief or sorrow, she blames herself for almost everything and she loses weight.

Strengths: Katy is very good at singing, often described as having the voice of an angel, much to her dismay. She's also good at acting, having done that at an early age.

Weaknesses: Katy is terrible with boys that didn't used to live in the same womb as her. She is worse with girls that she finds attractive: she has no idea what to do, because they probably don't find her attractive. She is also really bad at musical instruments, although she is quite musical. She just finds singing easy. She is also terrible at lying and, in a similar way, keeping secrets. Even if they're her own.

Katy was born on June 8th 1995 to Monica and Nathaniel Bishop. She already had 6 siblings, but there were many more to come after that. Devlin was the oldest, then 7 years old, then it was Aurora, Zachary, Gordon, Claudia, and Gaige. Yeah. It was pretty complicated.

When Katy learned to read she would read everything and not just books. She would read signs, leaflets and packaging. It was even worse when she learned to sing. Every tune, every song and everything in between would have to be sung. And she wasn't exactly bad. Of course, a six-year-old's voice isn't very good either. A short time after that Katy joined a local drama club. She loved that club and would devote hours and hours to learning lines.

It was just a couple of years later that she began to grow considerably closer to her roommate, Claudia. They had been friends all of her life, but a new side began to grow, a girl friend (that's friend that's a girl, by the way) relationship began to grow. They would talk about clothes, make up, dolls, boys and other girls. A lot of it was gossip. They have kept that relationship up until the present.

At twelve, Katy realised that Gaige wasn't half bad at guitar. She also realised that they could work together, so they started practising different songs. As they grew older, their confidence grew as well and they started entering talent competitions throughout Pilot Ridge, and even winning a few of them.

It was November 2009. Katy was fourteen and her little sister Lany had already manifested. Katy had not been amused when she heard the news, but had gotten over it pretty quickly. Well, she still kinda held a grudge, just wasn't openly annoyed with her. All the same, when Katy awoke the next morning with a feather on her pillow she freaked slightly (and before you say anything, none of her pillows had feathers in them). Within about a week a full set of wings had sprouted. Katy was happy and, more than anything, relieved.

She moved to Hammel and started to take lessons on flight. A horrible accident (flying into a wall) later and Katy was rushed into hospital with what could be quite serious head trauma. When she woke up from surgery everyone was there, all of her 11 siblings and her two parents. After a few tests they announced that she was okay, but her brain was rattled around in her skull, so there may be some lasting damage.

Katy was extremely excited about flying. The small experience she had had was exhilarating, once you get past the terrifying sensation of falling through the air with nothing but wings on your back. Unfortunately, she couldn't do anything with the pot on her leg, so was reduced to staying at home, usually in her room. She grew fidgety and impatient. One day, when her mum went upstairs to check on her, Katy was crying in the corner, for no apparent reason other than feeling really upset. Obviously her mother was worried.

Her leg eventually healed and she started to fly again. She would be bubbly and excitable, but only for a short while. Then she went back to being depressed. Then happy, then sad. After a trip to the psychiatrist, Katy was diagnosed with bipolar I disorder.

Over the years she has had hundreds of trips to the psychiatrist, who has tried different methods of treatment. So far, unfortunately, none of them seem to work, but atleast it isn't getting worse.

When she was depressed she grew distant from most of her family, except for a few. She spent a lot less time around Claudia and a lot more time around Gaige and, strangely enough, Gordon. Both of whom kept trying to cheer her up, or make her eat something. Not much worked.

Albert the canary went missing one day. Katy blamed the twins. It was, in fact, Kailin's pet cat, Meow Mix, but Katy didn't know that. She spent a bit of time holding a grudge over JJ, but eventually realised it was pathetic. Instead, she forced them to go thirds with her for a new one. He was called Albert II, and is her current pet.

When she was sixteen Katy accepted the fact that she was bisexual. She had suspected it for a while, but wasn't entirely sure. A slight tipping point was Gaige telling people that he liked both boys and girls. It sort of inspired Katy. She first came out to Gaige.

So Katy lives in a constant flux of depression and almost manic enthusiasm, between being friends with half of her family and the other, between enjoying life and... Not. It's tiring.
