Quite some wrong decisions had been made during the last couple of weeks. One might expect that a lesson would be learnt, but apparently Kiara’s trait of seeing a silver lining in everything had not faltered just yet. Instead of being patient and to discuss that what formed the problem, the fresh college student had opted to take an hiatus and to make a retreat back to Pilot Ridge. The small detail that had been forgotten was that she no longer had a dorm she could return to at Hammel. This only dawned upon her the second she had stepped out of her roommate’s car and watched the vehicle drive off again. Nuts.
What was she to do now? Most of her acquaintances were either still students at Hammel or had gone to college. Exhaling a deep exhale, the blonde picked up her backpack and swung it over her shoulder. The first solution that came to her mind felt like a right one, but that might have been because she couldn’t come up with someone else who might be willing to help a distressed student. Or, well, ex-student. Maybe he didn’t even know her. She had never caused any trouble, nor did she grab any spotlights during The talk. What did she have to lose though? Indeed, nothing.
That conclusion was the reason why Kiara found herself strolling past houses within the residence area about ten minutes later. Given she had wasted a lot of time pondering about whether or not to take an hiatus, she had only made it to Hammel just when the sun began to set. The darkness falling upon the town motivated the girl to walk faster and to hurry up to the front door the moment she reached her location. There was reluctance though, especially as a finger reached forward to hit the doorbell, but eventually she cut the mental knot and heard the bell sing on the inside to announce someone was at the door. And that was when Kiara made up her mind. She couldn’t just show up at someone’s door; she couldn’t just expect to get any help; she couldn’t… Oh, the door had opened.
”Um, hi… Dr. Neville.” Optics flashed up. ”I’m not sure if you remember me? Kiara, Kiara Lilien. I just… I was wondering if I could stay here for a couple of days?” Just blurt it out. No hesitation. Only regrets for being indecent enough to bother people in the evening. While blue eyes had been lingering on his face, they soon fell and Ki shifted the backpack onto her other shoulder.
