Marianne drove all the way to Sean's, probably going about 10 miles over the speed limit. It was around 5 in the morning and Marianne was distraught. Make-up was running down her face with her tears and she was having a very hard time breathing normally. She was devastated and the only thing she knew to do was to go to Sean. He would be there for her, she was the only one she could count on now.
Her cloths were sloppily put on and she was freezing in the cold morning air. She stood in the driveway of Sean's house, unsure if she should really knock on the door. Her face was red from crying so much. She still hadn't stopped either. Marianne had given herself a chance to be very happy, and everything had blown up in her face.
She moved to the door and stood there a little longer, shivering and crying. She was having a hard time getting the guts to disturb Sean from his sleep. It was 5 am, and she didn't want to bother him, but she really needed him right now. Ter had ripped her heart out and he had been her best friend for years. Now she didn't know what it was. She thought that he had slept with her because he loved her, but she quickly found out that he just slept with her because he was drunk and she was pretty.
Marianne's hand pounded on the door, hoping that someone would get up and let her in. After a minute, she knocked again. Vermont's winter's were cold, and Marianne's coat was not very thick. She hadn't expected to be outside long enough to notice. She was just going to Ter's and back. But the night had taken a different turn.
Her heart pounded and her face felt like it was frozen with her tears, but they kept falling anyway. She saw a light turn on and she thanked God that it did. She would have frozen out here. She tried to wipe at her tears, but all she did was smear her mascara all over her cheeks.
