Kimmy's exploration of Pilot Ridge and Hammel Institute had thoroughly paid off thus far. A good relationship with the school psychiatrist, a flirtation with an extremely attractive woman with similar interests, a solid mental map of the area - so far, everything that she had established was quite satisfying and gave her hope for the future. She also knew some places to avoid, like the mall on Friday evenings - though she had some doubt about that one, since that was how she had met Noa. Maybe putting herself in overwhelming situations paid off after all?
Careful - that's a dangerous road to go down. She shut that thought down, fighting off the memories it threatened to dredge up. The mall was indeed a place to avoid on Friday evenings.
One of the places ze had marked mentally - and in zir phone's maps - was the Bubblebeam Tea Shop. Kimmy had looked at the outward display and glanced briefly at the inside of the shop and liked what ze saw. Bright colors, cutesy decorations, fun an energetic - it was right up zir alley. Ze suspected that zir own aesthetic would mesh quite well with what the shop itself had already established, and had considered applying for a job there when there were openings to fill. Ze would certainly need the money eventually.
Kimmy's rumbling stomach had demanded her attention for the past hour, and she finally decided to oblige it. Coffee and tea shops often had food, and she figured she would check the tea shop out more and get some food there. She walked up and pushed the door open, the cute little dingding of the bell signaling her entrance.
