Someone needed to call Danny an intervention. It wasn’t that he was doing badly. Oh, no. Business was doing quite well with movies being integrated into theme parks. Everyone kept demanding for the “original” models, the “original” sets, and as Danny was the one who had designed and built quite a few, he was in high demand to either design more for others to build, or to build it himself and very carefully ship the model to them. Add that to the weekly art classes he taught, and Danny was quite good monetarily speaking for one of the first times in his life. His drinking had dwindled to none while with Riley, and he didn’t have many bad habits.
Except, well. Danny might’ve been obsessing over the wedding, which wasn’t until winter in any case. But he couldn’t help it. He had all these brilliant ideas that he wanted to do and share until the wedding was beginning to look rather like an affair that would fit more in a Gone with the Wind movie. Only at least he wasn’t requiring any of the wedding party to wear those ridiculous dresses. And considering it was mostly men, this was definitely a good thing. In general, Danny was getting carried away.
He’d invited Sean over to his studio-apartment-turned-actual-studio for coffee and to check on how everything was going with him and his partner, mostly on Riley’s recommendation. Probably to get the overexcited man out of the house, but Danny hadn’t noticed. He greeted Sean with enthusiasm and a hug.
“Glad you could make it,” he said cheerfully. “Look, I’ve even managed to get seats that aren’t covered in clay for us. And the counter’s, uh, got a tablecloth on it but I think that should be okay. How’s Josh doing?”
