Smooth Sailing (Dec.)

Was it really a date? Just driving around with your boyfriend? Declyn thought so, and he was pumped! Any amount of time with Cam was bound to be fun and it was nice to have someone to do something with. Odion was always busy with his 'friend' and he hadn't really talked to Kota much in a while because he himself had been busy wandering the school for new victims (and spending time with Cameron).

Declyn snorted and smirked, "A ghrà means my love in English. It's what my father calls my mother, force of habit I suppose. I hope you don't mind." Because if Cam had a problem with it, well Dec only had so many terms of endearment in his English vocabulary. And yes, it did sort of sound like 'grandpa' but that wasn't his fault! Silly Irish language making things sound weird.

Giving a shake of his head, Dec smiled, "Trucks are fine by me. In fact they're preferred." So maybe he was sucking up to Cam, but that wouldn't be a problem. He hopped into the passenger side and closed the door behind him. The car started up and he smiled at the sound of it. Fancy cars were overrated, he preferred the rundown ones. Not that he knew much about cars, but oh well.

The fact that Cam had thought about Dec's love of photography brought a bright smile to the Irish boy's face. Others might have chosen a place that was more to their liking and that Dec would find rather boring. He often took the people he had dated to places they enjoyed just to impress them, but the favor was never returned. "I haven't actually, you'd think by now I should have. What'd you have in mind for food?" He asked looking over at the blond boy.

Declyn wouldn’t ask Cam to spend less time with his friends just to hang out with him. That would make him a greedy boyfriend, and that wasn’t what he wanted to be known as. If anything, they could all spend time together. Or Cam could just hang out with his friends and Dec could find his own things to do. Either way, Declyn definitely didn’t want to be a controlling boyfriend and he didn’t want to keep Cam away from his friends.

“I would never do such a thing,” He said with a smirk. Well at least not this time. Especially because if he’d been calling Cameron ‘grandpa,’ well that was weird and though Dec was a little quirky, he wasn’t a total creep. Declyn smiled at Cam’s affection towards him and blushed slightly, “I’m glad. Y’know I could teach you some Irish phrases if yer interested.” He’d never tried teaching someone how to speak the same language he did, but he didn’t think it would be all that difficult.

Declyn’s eyes brightened when Cameron mentioned a bike. He was partial to motorcycles because back in Ireland he’d gotten one for his sixteenth birthday. Unfortunately, it had not made the travel back with him. “New bike, aye? What kind is it?” He may not have known about cars, but he did know bikes.

“Fast food works for me. I’m not picky,” He glanced out the window and watched all of the trees pass by. It reminded him faintly of Ireland with all of the greenery. When Cameron started speaking again, Declyn turned his head and looked at him. “Oh that sounds like fun,” He smiled. Good thing Cam was doing his own thing because he’d been wanting to either try his hand at spending time with his brother or going back to Ireland to see his parents. Either one was a stretch.

Declyn smirked and tried to appear as innocent as possible, but he knew it was true. He would tease Cameron and probably try and mess around with him, but it would be all in good fun. Seeing Cam’s face brighten only made him smile more. He was happy that the other boy seemed interested in learning his native tongue. When Cam offered to take him skydiving, Declyn himself brightened. “Definitely! I’ve never been skydiving before.” He’d always wanted to do something interesting, something risking and daring, but he’d never been able to.

“Kawasaki Ninja?” Declyn asked. If that was the case, then they had very similar tastes in motorcycles. He’d been allowed to buy it on his eighteenth birthday and only got to drive it for a few months before shipping himself off to Hammel. “Well of course you would, you’d look good on an old dirt bike Cam,” He smiled adoringly at his boyfriend. “And yes, I do know a little about bikes. I’ve had an odd fascination with them since I was about ten.”

Nodding in agreement, Declyn turned back towards the window once more to admire the view. In all this time that he’d been in Vermont, he hadn’t appreciated the sights. Cameron continued on with his plans and Declyn frowned slightly when he said he already had someone to pick him up from the airport, but his eyes stayed on the window. Feeling Cameron’s hand on his thigh, he turned to face Cam and his eyebrows pulled together, “I don’t really know. It depends on a few things I suppose. One thing being that stubborn brother of mine.”

Declyn’s eyes widened, well Cam must have been pretty daring to do it more than once, “That’s insane. I mean I’m not afraid of going, but to do it several times…wow.” He was definitely impressed by Cam now. As his boyfriend continued, he only found himself smirking. Cam really was silly and maybe liked to exaggerate, but it was cute. “I’m sure you were the hero of the day aye? They never would have done it without you,” He laughed quietly and brushed his fingers through Cam’s hair.

Declyn knew very well that a Kawasaki Grizzly was a four-wheeler and not a motorcycle and the nudging just gave Cam away. Shaking his head, he smirked. “You definitely should have met me sooner, I could have used a guy to teach me the ways of being so incredibly smooth,” Dec snickered and leaned over to kiss the boy’s cheek. He got a good kick out of picking on his boyfriend. Luckily for him Cameron took it in stride.

The shift in Declyn’s mood came from the tiny sliver of self-esteem issues he had. As Odion had so graciously pointed out, Cameron had been with a lot of people and Declyn secretly did fear that he wouldn’t be good enough to keep Cam satisfied. This Chester guy probably knew him better and was more than likely better looking. Not to mention he probably wasn’t nearly as innocent as Declyn. It just wasn’t easy to take, but he would because he didn’t want Cam to feel bad. “It’s alright, I understand,” or he was trying to understand at least. Cam’s words brought a half-smile to his lips, “I don’t know, he’s pretty difficult. I swear every time I talk to him we get into an argument of some sort.”

As Cam ordered, Dec looked to see what sounded good. He wasn’t really someone who ate a lot, and though he did like fast-food, he preferred not to eat it because he liked to keep his body fit. “I’ll just take a large fry and Mountain Dew please,” He answered.

Declyn wasn’t surprised by all of the things that Cam had done, after all the boy was amazing. “I probably would have been rather terrified as well, though I think it’d still be fun,” He said with a smile as the younger boy fixed his hair. Hair must have been off limits, well good thing he knew now. Still, Cameron looked pretty adorable with ruffled hair sticking up in every direction. It was how Declyn had seen him when they shared their first kiss and he found it attractive. Oh well, some people cared more about appearances than Dec did and he didn’t hold that against them.

“Oh yes, your mad skills worked wonders on me. I didn’t have a chance,” Dec smirked. It was true though, he never had a chance when Cameron ended up in his bed looking so painfully adorable. It was a wonder Declyn didn’t break within the first five minutes of that whole thing. Then again, he had been a little busy wigging out about a guy being in his bed because he hadn’t been used to it. Now that him and Cam were more comfortable with each other, he was more surprised when they weren’t sharing a bed. “Tis true, late is better than never.”

Giving a shrug, Declyn sighed, “I just wish he didn’t hate me so much because honestly that’s what it seems like sometimes. I know he didn’t necessarily ask for a brother, but still…” He trailed off and shook his head to get rid of the ideas. This was the last thing he wanted to talk about. Well, until Cam used the ‘you can come if you want’ phrase on him. Now he felt like he was intruding and he didn’t want to be that guy. “No, it’s fine. Really. He has a car and already offered, I’ll just have to wait to see you.” Because that was fair, right?

Declyn was distracted by the time they got closer to the mountains and at Cam’s excitement, he really could only nod. It wasn’t like he was upset with Cameron, but he really had been looking forward to being the first person Cam saw when he came back. Selfish, he knew, but he was dating the boy so wasn’t he allowed to be a teensy bit selfish?

Declyn smiled at the blond boy and shook his head, "Oh no, that's the worst. Being early to anything is never fun." Though he said it with the most nonchalant tone he could manage, the Irish boy still blushed at the double meaning. He was so innocent that it really was difficult not to whenever such a subject was even close to being mentioned. At Cam's reassurance that he wouldn't have to wait long, Dec felt a little relieved, the sooner he got to spend time with his boyfriend, the better. Not that he was trying to be clingy, but going that long without Cameron would surely suck.

It wasn't like he had very many friends to go hangout with. How pathetic was that?

Mentally preparing for his mind to be blown as Cam had said, Ducky looked around and smiled wider when he saw why Cam had suggested this place. It was beautiful from inside the truck, but when he climbed out, his mind was in fact, blown. His eyes widened and his hands inched towards his camera.

Before he got a hold of the camera though, his hands were taken and he followed Cameron willingly, "Cam, it's amazing. I honestly can't come up with anything better to describe it." Dec squeezed the blond's hand and gave him an adoring smile.

Declyn's face burned and he tried to avoid looking at Cam because seriously this was so embarrassing. Ducky an innocent boy, one that had only ever kissed someone. Talking about things such as the topic they were one, well it was one of the many things that made him blush. And he couldn't even help it! "Oh yes, on time or not at all."

Looking out at the view, Declyn smiled. It really was beautiful and he was happy to be sharing it with his boyfriend. Cameron's question had Dec smirking and he stepped closer to the other boy, wrapping his arms around his waist and pulling him close. "Just like this," He pressed his lips gently to the blond boy's and pulled back. "But as for the pictures, well, just act like you. I want Cam in all of his glory," He smiled and brought the camera up to his face. "I'll give you three counts before the picture is taken just so you can figure out what yer plannin' on doin'. Alright? 1...2...3" He snapped the picture and readied himself for another.
