The Basics
Name: Kodah Ray Pierce
Nicknames: n/a
Age: Fifteen
Orientation: Heterosexual
Desired Rank/Job: Student
Powers: For Kodah to be able to breathe fire, his body underwent a genetic mutation in which the appendix transformed into a bladder (Now called the hydrogen bladder) that collected and stored hydrogen from the water he drank, delivering it upon will through a series of arteries and tubes that connected from his throat to his mouth. He noticed a scaly like coating that grew down his throat and the inside of his mouth around a bone that protruded from the roof of his mouth, almost like a hollowed tooth (called the release tube). It retracts during inactive periods, but when the hydrogen travels to the mouth it extends and heats up the hydrogen to create the flame and, while giving the element the final fuel it needs to become flame, it releases the flame from his mouth. He can only breathe and shoot fire in short bursts, although the response time (the hydrogen traveling from the bladder to the mouth) occurs in a matter of seconds. Kodah can grow a translucent layer of fire retardant scales that coat his flesh, but the growth will only last for two minutes at a time, requiring a two minuet cool down. When he uses his ability too much he becomes weak from releasing too much hydrogen and can pass out from exhaustion. If he doesn’t release enough from the hydrogen bladder in a day, Kodah can get sick from over storage. Since the manifestation of his ability is recent, Kodah cannot always control the intake and release of the hydrogen bladder or the heating of the release tube, although with a few years of practice he will be able to control the release tube and be able to release the hydrogen from the bladder without flame.

The Details
Hair Color: Dark Brunette
Eye Color: A deep brown
Any Piercings? No.
Any Tattoos? Kodah has “April May June” tattooed on his chest in calligraphy, a pair of six sided die on his left ankle and skull on the tip of his neck. All of his tattoos are poor quality although he has vowed to get them fixed when he turns eighteen (and can get them legally).
Any Scars? Kodah was a large collection of scars from his adventures in New York.
General Appearance: Barely reaching 5’7, Kodah weighs about one hundred and thirty pounds. He has a thinner body build, but the countless nights of urban exploration, hopping fences and living on the streets have given him a moderate muscle definition. Kodah often appears shorter because of his slacked posture, often slouching and keeping his gaze at the ground. He’ll avoid eye contact when talking to someone and the only time he’ll look into someone’s eyes is when he’s either angry or incredibly sincere. His hair is a rich, dark brunette that is always messy no matter the occasion. His eyes are a deep brown, but are often hidden behind his hair. Kodah’s dresses in a punk style, with a lot of spikes, studs and belts decorating his mainly black colored wardrobe. All of his clothes are ripped and bought second hand (or stolen).
Personality: Independent and playful, Kodah is known for his knack of getting into trouble and his dangerous idea of fun. Kodah hates rules and restrictions and would rather live a life of struggle then a life of luxury and curfew. After living on the street for about three years, Kodah is always on his toes and is an excellent urban explorer. He usually writes off anyone that looks like they have a steady job or a middle-class lifestyle, but will talk to anyone as long as they talk to him first. He is very self-conscience and defensive when talking to anyone that has a higher social standing than he does and will look for a reason to best them in a fist fight. His temper can be explosive at times and there aren’t many social repercussions he is afraid of.
Kodah likes to keep his friends close, although he has trouble making new ones. He is easily seduced by women and easily manipulated by peer pressure, wanting to fit in with his crowd. Things like school, parents and nice furniture make him uncomfortable; he’s more comfortable on the streets, squatting in wrecked houses and making money doing odd jobs. Routine is unusual for Kodah and it takes a lot of prodding to get him to school or to do school work. When making a decision, Kodah relies more on emotion than thought. After missing more than a year of school he is very behind on his education and is a lot more street smart than book smart. Kodah has a very broad sense of humor, finding most things (appropriate or not) funny, his smart-alecky attitude and jokes usually land him in trouble. After being jumped in Harlem a few weeks before, Kodah has been deathly afraid of walking alone at night.

History
Kodah was born to Joseph and Caitlyn Peirce in a suburb in Jersey. He had a fairly untroubled childhood until the age of ten, when his father was killed in a tragic drunk driving accident. After his father’s death, Kodah became the “troubled child”. After two years of mourning, Caitlyn remarried and became Caitlyn Wilder while Kodah kept his last name. Kodah was outraged at his mother’s remarriage, and being only twelve he dramatically rebelled against Max, his new stepfather, in any way he could. The couple announced that Caitlyn was pregnant with another child. That night Kodah packed his things and left with his best friend, Jacob. Jacob always talked about his older brother who lived in New York so the two ran away to live in the big city. They lived with Jacob’s brother for a few months until they decided to move out and live on their own. They were quickly adopted into a gang of street kids who lived off squatting in empty houses and made money selling anything they could get their hands on. Kodah enjoyed living on the streets; he could do whatever he wanted as long as he could run fast enough. There were lots of street fights, parties and running from the police, but the freedom made everything that much enjoyable. He often debated going back home, realizing that his departure was over dramatic, but he couldn’t force himself to go back on his decision.
(I would like to role play through the first manifestation of Kodah’s power and his recruitment)

(From a different site)
The journey from Calder Aylwin’s snowy mountainside town to the wonderful city of Ardin was long and filled with dangerous predators, but the small caravan reached its destination safely. The horse-drawn carriage had survived the treacherous mountain range, a task not easily completed. As Calder, and his guardian pulled into town, they left their battered carriage at the stables. Stepping out of the wagon, Calder noticed a long line of other carriages. Some were just as beaten as his while others were adorned with beautiful wooden wheels and laced curtains hanging in the window.
Carefully Calder placed his iron boot onto the hay covered stone. He had never seen a kingdom so large. Thorodan was pretty big, but most of the city was spread through out the plains at the bottom of the mountain and the river that flowed from it. In Ardin everything seemed so… cramped. His guardian, Ackley Elshind, ushered Calder to the stable gate when he exited the carriage, trying to get to the courtyard in time. Before he knew it, Calder was standing tall in a large crowd of men around his age. There was a immense variety, something Calder hadn’t expected.
Slightly intimidated by the amount of the competition, Calder stood as tall as he could without looking ridicules. His Thorodan armor shone in the sunlight and he wore the suit with pride. The plate armor was sturdy and strong and in the center of the chest plate there was an engraving of the legendary dragon, Ysellian. On the back of the neckline read “Blodet av dragen, beskytter av den gamle krigeren. Bevarer liv og uskyld.” The verse was written in the Native language of Calder’s town (which may or may not be Norwegian) and it translated to: “The blood of the dragon, the protector of the old warrior. Preserver of life and innocence.”
Originally the full plate of armor included a helmet, but the temperature was hotter than that of his hometown and hopefully his face would stand out in the crowd. His skin was tan after the days of hunting in the mountains and his body build was muscular because of his training as a Thorodan warrior. Talented in both sword and archery, Caldor displayed both weapons proudly; his bow on his back and his sword on his belt. Caldor had thought that perhaps being a Thorodan warrior would give him an edge on the competition, but looking at the other muscular young men he began to doubt his training.
