So it was that night. The date-night-type-thing.

Calliope had assumed that because they lived together, they would go together to whatever place he had planned. But by the time she was ready in any way, he was already gone. All she knew was that she was supposed to meet him somewhere. Obscure, but it made it feel a little more like a date and less like two friends just going to hang out. A date wasn't a far extension from that really, but it forced her to look at the whole thing in a different light.

It seemed like she wasn't at a specific destination; standing there on the street at night. Alone. But this was what the message had said. Was he going all out for her? Or was it just that date-night atmosphere that made her feel almost... Nervous?

Cameron was all about looking at things in different lighting. Sometimes pink, often brighter... In any case, he was excited to have something to do tonight. He had been a little vague about the location of the date, but that was alright. He was sure she would notice him right away. Of course he looked good, as usual, but he was glowing a little bit, you know, to make him stand out in the crowd. The shirt brought out his eyes a bit and he was excited as it was. Sometimes one couldn’t help but glow when they were in a good mood.

Callie, looked fine. She was standing on the street corner, and Cam was glad to have found her when he did. Who knew what other people would think with her looking so nice and not having a man by her side. “Callie! Hey beautiful.” He practically jumped her, pulling her into a hug before taking her hand and walking along towards a dance club for younger teens. Totally legal and definitely legit. He looked back and smiled at her. She really did look nice.

“I’m sure I smell better than before,” he teased. Cologne was probably preferred to eau de toilet.

Callie nearly jumped when he called out to her; before she had a chance to experience the reaction he was drawing her into a hug. After the initial moment she reciprocated the action, close enough to notice the way he smelled. The scent of his cologne filled her senses for the time before he pulled away again, taking hold of her hand and leading her down the street.

Another action she was keen to reciprocate.

"It's a nice change, that's for sure. And I'm guessing that this will be a little better than dancing outside the bathroom door." She laughed slightly as she walked alongside him, glancing over. She raised an eyebrow with vague interest; "Though I'm not sure which outfit you like more."

“What’s wrong with dancing outside the bathroom door? Other than the obvious?” Cam asked with a smirk. Come on, he wasn’t that bad. “I wouldn’t have complained if you showed up in my towel,” he said with a wink, “but I’m pretty sure someone would’ve gotten to you before I did.” He pulled them into the dance club and sat at the bar stools. It was nice, places like these. It was the only one in town, but at least the high school kids could have fun.

“So really, you’ve been dying for a date with me ever since we shared the same place, haven’t you?” He asked, his fingers touching the menu on the table slightly. “You want anything? Their chicken fingers are killer,” he smirked, his eyes glancing over the one sheet of laminated paper. “Once I get a Coke in me, you get to see my moves.” He’d pay for anything she had if she did want anything. He was still a gentleman, poppa didn’t raise no fool.

"See, I thought about wearing the towel. But I knew you'd really outshine me if I tried to pull that look off." Callie grinned. Somewhere in there was a compliment about how he looked if he cared to notice it. Nevertheless, she followed him inside and sat down alongside him.

"Hmm... No," Callie replied honestly, "For more than one reason. You know you were like... Swimming in drama, right? I'm not so good in drama. I dodge it." She was actively teasing him at that point. Her teeth sunk down into her tongue lightly as she pulled the menu up to her face. "Oh, and my brother doesn't like you very much." But that was a thought she seemed so shrug away, despite the obvious closeness between her and her brother Eric.

"Sounds good. Order away." She said, and dropped the menu back down again at his suggestion, "I won't judge your dancing until you're ready for it." He knew she was a dancer, and he knew how into it she was. But apart from the routine dancing around the common area of their rooms, Callie wasn't really sure if he'd ever seen her dance. Properly, anyway.

He shrugged. “Pretty sure I’d outshine you in any situation,” he said with a grin. The compliment had been noticed, and even if it wasn’t a compliment, he would find a way to make it one.

“You know I was… What?” He sighed. “How does this stuff spread through the school?” He was pretty sure the only people who knew about that little ‘fight’ were the ones who were present, and those girls weren’t one to blab about such things. Someone must’ve seen it happen. Drama, the glue that held the pieces of high school together. His eyes grew wide. “Well tell him I’m very sorry for turning him down, but I liked his little sister better.” It would take more than a brother to stop him from doing whatever he pleased.

“Sweet,” he said, smiling a bit as he waved the waitress over. “Yeah uh, can we get two chicken fingers and fries. A couple cokes for a charming couple too,” he said as she walked away. Just another dumb kid with a dumb date. No, he’d never seen her properly dance, but she’d never seen him either. “I’m a man of many talents,” he said, flicking his wrist like a big shot. “How many people do you know have done cliff diving?” He asked, holding up three fingers. “Three times?” Another exaggeration.

People talked. The details were vague and she really only knew a little about what situations were surrounding him, but the fact that something was going on always meant drama. "Don't worry about it." Callie shrugged, lightly brushing the thought away.

She took a small moment to think about both of her brothers. From the second they learned that their only sister was living with a guy, they were skeptical. "He'll be so crushed." She teased. What they didn't know couldn't hurt them, after all.

"Cliff diving?" Callie asked, pressing her hand against his forearm as she laughed at the exaggeration. His sense of humour was always something she enjoyed. "People like you. I like you. That's another reason," She raised her hand to poke his arm lightly before opting to tease him again; "I kinda wanted to see what the fuss is about."

Cam shrugged in return. “I must really be something,” he said, stroking his own ego. He didn’t mind being popular, he liked knowing lots and lots of people. It just never dawned on him that maybe people didn’t have anything better to do, and his screw ups were amusing.

“Unless you know, he’s interested in a threesome, and that could get messy, since you guys are related,” he said, a devilish smirk on his lips. No he’d never had a threesome before, and he didn’t expect this particular one to work out, but there was still time for fun and games. There was always time for fun and games.

He laughed brightly, shrugging again like it wasn’t a big deal. He’d done a number of crazy things and was still looking for more to do. “I know, I’m the greatest thing since One Direction got big,” he said. “But I can play guitar, so I think I’ve one upped them.” He laughed at his own joke, grinning at her. He was just a guy though, nothing special. Probably the only special thing about him was how easily he fell for people. He just couldn’t say no.

Their chicken fingers arrived and he scooped one up, biting it clean in half. “Have some! They’re delicious, like I promised,” he said with a nod. “So do you think the fuss was worth it so far?” He asked, tapping his foot to the music.

Her mouth pulled into a very harsh frown at the mention of a threesome. She and her brother were close; they talked about just about everything on their lives... But that was never going to happen. The thought alone was... Noooo...

She had heard him play guitar before in their room, so she at least knew he was good at it. Still, Callie was always keen enough to joke alongside him; "Ahh, but can you sing? Because if you get that down, you'll have people fainting on the street when you walk past."

She watched as the food arrived, reaching to take hold of one of the chicken fingers and taking a bite. After a moment or two, she nodded in his direction. "What can I say? You were right." About the food anyway. But what did she think so far? Callie shook her head, smirking as she spoke; "I don't want to inflate your ego yet."

"Well, I don't usually walk and play guitar at the same time. Then I'm the one tripping all over the place instead of having people fall for me," he shrugged. It only made sense, he couldn't multitask. "As for the singing thing, that's a no show. I can't sing worth shit." He could write lyrics when the muse struck him, but for the most part, not even that happened. Singing was definitely a no.

Cameron held out a chicken finger at her like a pointer stick. "Yet, being the key word." He took about bite, drenched in sauce. "You will though." He could dance. Maybe not as well as she could when she was actually trying, but he was good. Some things just came naturally when you were having fun. He took a sip of his drink and then held out his hand once they were done eating.

"I've got some energy to burn. Care to join me on the dance floor," he smiled at her and gave her pleading eyes. How could she say no to this face?

Callie laughed as he pointed in her direction. Yet, he'd said. "I'll hold you to that declaration." She replied with a shrug. His approach to this whole situation was still something she was trying to gauge. The situation forced her to look at him in a different light, and so for she seemed to be enjoying what she was seeing.

Nevertheless, Callie watched as he extended his hand to her. It didn't take long for her to hope off her stool and reach over, slipping her hand into his. Her other hand pressed against his cheek for a second, giving him a slight shove to get that pleading look off his face.

It was all in good fun with him. "I'd be delighted."

Cameron laughed, glancing at the floor as she pushed him away. Maybe that was too much, considering she had agreed to the date already.

"Alright, let's see what you've got," he said, giving her a nod before dragging her to the dance floor. The music was pretty fast, and people were bobbing around. He liked this place a lot, there was always someone on the dance floor. Cameron moved in time with the music, doing his own thing. It wasn't professional and it wasn't fancy, but it was him and he was having fun and that's what mattered.

He kept his eyes on Callie. He really did want to see what she was made of. "Are you gonna dance like you do in our room?" He teased loudly over the music. She looked great tonight. Not as good as she would have in a towel, but still great.

Callie followed along with a slight skip in her step. Fast music, small movements. There were people about but it was by no means a crowd, so movements were restricted without being solely based on feet. Her mind worked through small details while they found a spot.

He could pick the beat almost instantly. Playing guitar probably made that a lot easier. Getting the feel of the music; the rise and fall of the melody’s progression. For the moment she kept in tandem with the beat and his movements, settling into the choice of music and the flow before anything else. He looked like he was having fun. That was the most important than anything else when it came to this kind of thing.

She leaned inward when he started talking to make sure she heard what he was saying properly. She stopped her movements briefly to lean closer, hand to his shoulder so she could talk into his ear; "Just make sure you’re enjoying yourself." Callie pulled back with a smirk, her tongue poking out of her mouth before her teeth sunk down into it.

As for the dancing? It was more than just a hobby or a thing she did because she was good at it. Passion was evident from the very beginning. Training from a young age probably was too; she drew her inspiration from a variety of styles. But the pulsing beat and repetitive melody made for dance music, and the hip hop traits of it all was her absolute favourite. Each part of her body seemed to almost move on its own, reacting to a different element in the music. Feet strictly keeping their progressions to the beat, save for the moments where they would completely shut off to a standstill to the fall of the melody at the end of a phrase. Her arms filled in those moments, replacing precise hits with soft, slower fills to switch it up. Her body flowed through each turn, calmly and yet sharply enough to cause her dress to billow out with the cut of the air currant. All the while she couldn’t help but have a broad smile plastered on her face. It was just... Enthralling to do.

Eventually her attention was less on the music and more on him; she started to watch him. At a simple enough break, Callie reached out for his hand so she could draw herself closer. Dancing together was more entertaining than feeling like she was dancing alone.

Cam had always enjoyed Callie’s style. She didn’t really seem to care that much about what others thought of her. And she was fun, and funny. Good catch all around. “I am!” He said loudly, before laughing and carrying on. There was absolutely nothing special about the way he was dancing, but he didn’t look that bad. At least, not as bad as some of the people here.

Every move she made was purposeful. Cam wasn’t as aware of his movements as she evidently was. But that didn’t matter so much to him. She was obviously in the moment. This was her thing. It was probably what playing guitar was to him. He liked seeing her shine like a star tonight. It was only as enthralling she allowed it to be.

He drew closer and tried to keep up. Cam was up for the challenge. He snaked his way behind her and drew her in so he could speak to her. “You make this look so easy,” he said, before backing away and spinning her under his arm. He was smiling like an idiot and truly just enjoying her company.

In truth, Callie had been unsure of what to expect from this whole idea. But when the time came where they were dancing together, it was amazing to see that he wasn't backing away from her. It wasn't about skill level, it was about enjoying the moment. I was obvious that he was willing to do that with her, which was a big plus in her books.

When he drew closer, she didn't shy away from the contact that came with it. Hey, a good dance partner never does. His words fell into her ear and she smiled knowingly at the compliment. She spun underneath his arm, stepping out to extend fully without letting go of his hand. And with a quick step or two she brought herself in closer to stand in front of him again, resting her free hand on his shoulder.

"I promise I'll let you lead." She was close enough now that she didn't need to lean closer to his ear to speak and be heard.
