So Crazy Right Now (Chase)

If given the choice, Calliope was normally one to just head straight over to Eric's place before going anywhere else. Eric had a room set up for her, and his was the only place the school would let her stay at when it came to off campus sleeping. But Callie had just recently finished a dance class in town, and Eric was busy with his classes so he couldn't come pick her up. She was lucky that Jez was glad to pick her up and let her hang out until Eric was done.

But then she had to go out. So Callie was left there alone. She had a quick shower and launched herself into her normal routine. That really only consisted of playing loud music and dancing around the common area of her dorm. So she replicated it there by monopolising their lounge room.

Her song of choice was one of her favourites, and it was playing incredibly loudly through their speakers. She adored being able to dance for fun as well as work through some intense kind of choreography. She was wearing a black and white striped T shirt that was obviously a little too big for her; maybe it was a guys shirt? She'd just found it and tied it in a knot at the waist so it was showing off some of her abdomen. Callie had her sweat pants thrown over the back of the couch but she also had a towel in her hands as she was still drying her hair off. Hey, at least she had underwear on?

At any rate, if there had been some kind of knock at the door she wouldn't have heard it. Not through the loud bass that was blasting through the speakers.

School couldn't have ended fast enough for Chase. But before he could race out the door as the bell rang, his English teacher held him back, explaining that his grades were not doing so well. He also stated that he understood that Chase may be struggling because of the language barrier, and suggested he get a tutor. The fact that he didn't offer help himself reiterated Chase's suspicions that this teacher didn't like him. That, or he just thought that Chase would learn better from someone his own age, which he was definitely right about. He told the teacher that he would work on finding a tutor and left, his mood soured by the interaction.

He headed off the school campus, unlike most days where he would stick around and train either alone or with a friend. For some reason he just wasn't in the mood for it, which was very rare. He was just in a weird mood today. He decided to stop off at the market beforehand, pick up some ingredients for that night's dinner. He didn't know what Jez did before he moved in for food, but since moving in he'd been more or less taking care of all the meals. He didn't mind cooking, it wasn't the most fun thing to do, but one had to eat, right?

After the market he headed home, finally making it to his doorstep. He took the keys out of his pocket, sliding it into the lock. He hadn't noticed until then that there was loud music pumping out of the apartment, the bass shaking the door.

Chase went into the apartment, shutting the door behind him, removing his shoes in the front hallway. At a glance he just thought that Jez was dancing around in the living room, but upon closer inspection, it turned out not to be. Now, he wasn't one to complain about having pretty girls dancing half naked in his living room, so he just walked into the kitchen and started to put away the groceries he had purchased. He figured the dancing girl would notice him eventually. Even if he was to call out a greeting she probably wouldn't hear it over the music.

The oblivious Calliope was good at forgetting the world around her when it came to that kind of thing. She'd worked hard in her dance class, and with Dani's help she was getting even better at choreographing hip hop kind of dances. With the help of her powers things were just coming together for her. Plus, the song was catchy as all hell so towards the end she really couldn't help but sing along. She would later be glad that she was a pretty good singer as well as dancer.

When the song finished, she finally heard rustling in the kitchen. Callie jumped over the couch to turn the music down to background noise before she would get too invested again. Was someone there? She walked tentatively towards the kitchen.

And there was a guy there!

"Hey!" She said, pointing in his direction. Most people would normally freak out. Not Callie. "Who're you?"

The song ended, and she turned down the music, apparently having finally heard him. Chase finished putting away the vegetables, closing the fridge as she peered into the kitchen, still with no pants on. This situation was actually pretty funny. Jez warned him about her doing this, but didn't tell him her friends used their apartment for pantless dancing. He looked over at her as she pointed at him, leaning against the counter. "You know, I think I should be asking you that, considering I live here, and you have no pants on." he pointed out with a small smirk, going into the cupboard for a bottle of water.

"Oh, you live here. So you're Jezzy's new roommate?" Callie asked, though the question really didn't need an answer. She turned her hand instead, pointing in the direction of the main bathroom. The one that she guessed was probably his... "I used your bathroom. And probably your towel." Her mouth pulled to either corner, as if apologising with her face rather than actually saying it.

Oh right, he had said something about her pants. "Sorry! Does it make you uncomfortable?" She knew for a fact that her roommate didn't mind, but that was a different story. "Oh!" A third realisation as she turned on a heel to get to the couch and grab onto her sweat pants. "Is this your shirt?" She honestly had no idea who's it wasn't. It certainly didn't belong to Jez. She also knew that Jez wasn't dating anyone else. It dawned on her...

"Or... Your boyfriends shirt?"

"Yes, I am. I'm assuming you're her friend." he asked, taking a sip of water. He knew that things like this would happen moving in with a girl, he just didn't think it would happen pantless. "No, I don't care. It's just odd.." He didn't know any girls back home who wouldn't die of embarrassment at this exact situation. Yet she just stood there as if she was actually wearing pants. The girls were so bold here in the west, though his friends did warn him about that.

He couldn't help but let out a laugh at her question of the shirt being his boyfriends. Did he really look gay? "No, it's mine. And I don't care as long as you return it." he responded, walking into the living room, taking a seat on the couch.

"Yeah, we're friends." Callie replied. If they weren't she wouldn't exactly be there. Unless she was breaking in or something. But if she had been doing that, she wouldn't play loud music and draw attention to the place. Why was she thinking about that? Callie raised an eyebrow when he said it was odd. "It's like a bathing suit, but sometimes it has lace." She shrugged. Maybe that was just her naivety.

Fiiine. She unfurled onto her sweatpants and stepped into them, pulling them up onto her hips. "Hey, I took a shot. It's not like you look gay or anything like that." She was glad he laughed as opposed to being offended by her statement. "You could like both genders. That's a thing too, y'know. It's not odd." Callie briefly remembered Jez saying something about him transferring from another school.

Japan maybe? Or China? "What's your name, mister? You transferred right?"

"And to think I could have checked being robbed by a half dressed woman off my bucket list." What kind of robber would play loud music and dance around before robbing the place, anyways. "Sorry, I'm just not used to girls being so... not modest." If this situation happened back home, he would have been beaten on and called a pervert for just seeing a girl like that, and she would have been incredibly embarrassed to have been seen like that. He thought it was stupid how ridiculously modest they were, it was excessive. He much preferred the western-type girls.

"Chase, yah, I transferred from Eisai gakkō a few months ago." he answered, taking another sip from his water bottle, replacing the cap back on. "And who might you be?"

"Callie. Bathroom crasher and apparently, your first half naked living room dancer." She couldn't help but smile broadly at her own statement. That was just how she was, always smiling. Always bright and carefree. Naive too, but oh well. "I had a dance class in town and my brother had college stuff on, so Jez said I could hang out until he's done." She explained, leaning over and taking hold of his water bottle in her hands.

She started twisting the cap with her hands idly, "I probably should have seen if it was okay with you too, huh. Sorry, my brother's say sometimes I don't think everything through." Well, she did use his towel and take his shirt without realising any ramifications to those actions. Naivety~

He also couldn't help but smile at her comment, her smile was quite infectious. She seemed to be a generally happy person. Normally he would find that kind of thing annoying, but for now she was okay. Hopefully she didn't start to annoy him over time. Well it's not like he had to spend time around her, he could just go into his room and leave her to her dancing if he really wanted. But for now this interaction was interesting enough.

"It's fine, I don't care." he said, letting go of the bottle, leaving it in her hands. "I do need to know if you're staying for dinner, so I can make enough." he liked to make enough for him and Jez to eat, plus enough for leftovers for lunch the next day, so if she was staying he would want to make more so he didn't have to get lunch from the cafeteria.

Callie nodded graciously when he let go of the water bottle. Did she just take that from him? She didn't really realise until afterwards, so for a second or so she was just staring at it. Her blue eyes turned up to him again; he seemed like a really laid back kind of person. That was the making of a pretty decent roommate.

"Oh, no. My brother'll come pick me up when he's not so busy." She replied with much adoration. She loved her brothers so much that it was probably obvious to anyone who heard her talk about them. "So you do all the cooking? Are you good at it?" She felt her smile light up a little more; food to a Greek person was much loved. "What sort of stuff do you like to make?"

It was really obvious that she had a level of adoration for her brother, with the way she spoke about him. He never had any siblings growing up, or any close friends, so couldn't really relate in that department. There was Dani, though she was more like a close friend, he did have a kind of brotherly protectiveness over her.

"Not all of it, but if i'm cooking I make enough. I'd like to think i'm good at it, but i'm not the best. You'll have to try it sometime and let me know." he said, heading over to the fridge, opening the door, grabbing another water bottle. "I don't make anything special, things like stir fries or meat with vegetables, sometimes he made traditional Japanese food"

"I'd be up for that." Callie replied. She loved all kinds of food really, even if her mother was only ever interested in making traditional Greek foods. Some of that stuff was, well... Not for everyone. "Hey! Do you ever pack your own lunch or anything like that? We could have lunch or something." She shrugged, it was just a random idea she'd come up with. He totally didn't have to go with it.

She fell to lay on the couch, holding the water bottle above her head as she idly started tearing the label off. "Japanese food?" That should have been a clear indicator, and she wasn't surprised by it. After all, the most about cooking she understood had a lot to do with what her mother and Yia Yia had taught her. "Like what? What's good Japanese food? If you had to recommend something, what would you choose?"

"That's an idea. How about tomorrow?" It felt kind of like they were setting up a date, in a weird way. But there was no time like the present, or the 'as soon as possible'. He would probably forget about it if they didn't plan for it soon, anyways. He assumed that she went to Hammel, but if not, they could always meet up off campus to eat, he had a free period after lunch, so that worked out.

He actually didn't know how to answer her questions. She sure did ask a lot of them. He tried to remember all the questions she asked as he responded. "I don't know... rice, meat and vegetables? It's usually a variety of things... I don't know what you would think is good, but I like sashimi, especially salmon and tuna, but i know most people here don't eat raw fish..." but if they were willing to try, they were in for a treat, in his opinion.

Callie's blue eyes were a little brighter when he suggested that they have lunch together tomorrow. Something about him was just... Cute, she guessed. His little awkward tendencies were things that she actually found adorable. Of course, she wasn't going to tell him that. Not yet, anyway. "Yeah, sounds good. You're at Hammel, right? I can come find you in the courtyard during lunch or something." She finally replied.

She waved her hand at the notion of raw fish. "I've been to Japan before. I can never remember the names of things, but I bet I'd be down with the raw food." That's when she got another idea; sure she'd never actually tried it before, but he was recommending it so... "Make that, then. When we have lunch you can bring that! And next time I'll make lunch. Though, some people aren't really into Greek food..."
