Not How It Was Planned {Eric, later Callie}

[Jez Steele]

Jez walked into the small coffee shop and stood in line for a bit before grabbing her coffee and a large chocolate chip cookie. She loved her Peppermint Mocha. Callie was supposed to meet up with her later but she didn't want to continue to stay in her apartment so she had decided to head down to the coffee shop early and just get another one when Callie showed up. As Jez turned around she suddenly ran into someone, spilling her coffee and dropping her cookie as she squeaked slightly.

[Eric Jones]

Eric had just turned back from the counter after placing an order for himself and Callie, who'd texted him to say she was almost there. They were grabbing a coffee before she went off to see the girl she'd gone out with, or something, but not before Eric had a chance to challenge her to a muffin eat off. As he turned, something with blonde hair collided with him and knocked the young man back a few steps as he tried to get out of the range of any spilling drinks. Not the threads, thanks.

"You ok?" he asked the girl, doing a quick take in. Blonde, pretty... his smile crept up a notch. "Didn't hurt yourself, I hope?" Glancing down at the dropped cookie, he frowned with regret. "We'll need to get you another one of those, at any rate!" Another smile, eyes bright.

Jez started wiping herself off with napkins she had grabbed, her coffee, yeah there was maybe enough left for two sips. She sighed heavily and threw that away as well as her cookie after she picked it up. She looked up at the guy she had bumped into and pushed some of her hair out of her face, he looked vaguely familiar, "Aye," she cleared her throat, the shock had stopped her concentration on her accent, "I'm fine thanks," when he mentioned buying her a new cookie Jez grinned flirtatiously.

Jez would remain completely faithful to Callie, Jez couldn't help but flirt with everyone, it was never serious unless it was with someone she really liked in that way. "As long as it's as tasty as that last one promised to be."

[Eric Jones]

Eric smirked and nodded. "Of course," he assured the girl, gesturing to the counter. "No sub par cookies happening here!" He'd noticed the scottish bur in her voice; that was something a bit different. It was nice, unusual. The sodden napkins and mostly empty cup that were tossed away smelled strongly of peppermint. "And a refill too, by the looks of it!"

He pulled out his wallet as Eric turned to the counter. "What're you having, then?" he asked the blonde girl, smiling charmingly. "Something minty, by the smell of it?" His blue eyes scanned the menu behind the counter as he tried to make up his own mind too. Callie was easy; "Ah, one iced chocolate frappe with extra caramel, whipped cream, and thos chocolate sprinkle things," he said and didn't even look that sheepish, "A latte, and I think we need a cookie and, what were you drinking?" He waited for Jez to fill in the rest of her order.

Jez burst out laughing when he ordered the long named thing but instantly covered her mouth when he asked what she was drinking, "Peppermint Mocha, hot."

Hers was nice and simple and she liked it that way. When she was handed her cookie she pressed it just under her nose and looked up at him, letting her eyes show all of her flirtatiousness, "Thank you. Would you like to sit with me?"

Eric just grinned and shrugged at the girl's laugher, not bothering to point out the chocolate wasn't for him. It was an absurd drink. "And a hot," his blue eyes flicked to Jez at the word, before back to the server, "peppermint mocha for the lady."

Waving away her thanks, he nodded. "Sure, wouldn't mind some company." Picking up his latte and the cup of chocolate and sugar and cream, the teleporter glanced around and spotted a table. It was near enough the front that Callie wouldn't have to search when she got here. "That one?" he gestured with his shoulder, both hands occupied with drinks. "Can't believe you're here on you're lonesome though. I'm not crashing a date or anything, right?" Pulling a chair out with his foot, Eric set the drinks down and ran one hand up and through his hair, pushing it back off his face.

Jez took her drink and cookie and went to the table before pulling out the chair for him as well. She wasn't trying to undo years of chivalry, but his hands were full. She sat down next to him and shook her head, "No, not intruding. I'm supposed to be meeting someone later but I couldn't stay cooped up in my room anymore."

She took a sip of her drink, her eyes all for him, "I'm not interrupting when they're a very angry girlfriend around the corner right?"

Jez was taught from an early age you look people in the eye when talking to them, it was only polite, to give them anything less would be insulting.

Chuckling invitingly, Eric shook his head as he kept eye contact with the blonde girl as she gazed at him. "No girlfriend," he assured her, one side of his mouth creeping up. She was hot, chatty... he wouldn't mind if Callie was running a bit late. "Though I'm guessing if I had one, and she saw me talking to someone like you, she might get a bit jealous."

He winked, then sipped his latte. NOT the chocolate frappe thing. Too much sugar for him, thanks.

He was sweet enough.

"So, who're you here to meet?" he asked after a moment, sitting back in his chair and raising dark blonde eyebrows in question. She was still looking straight at him. All about the eye contact, it seemed. "I don't want to make anyone jealous." Eric shot the girl a brilliant smile, to show just why he'd make someone jealous.

Jez grinned slightly as she took a bite of her cookie, when she swallowed she looked back up at him, "I'm here meeting a girlfriend of mine."

He could take that any way he liked, she crossed her long legs at the knee as she leaned back in her seat and drank some of her coffee, "Who are you here to see?"

[Eric Jones]

Eric thought nothing of the referral to girlfriend. Why would he? It was used for all manner of connections all the time, and he'd already asked if he was crashing a date. "But not for a while, yeah?" he reminded her, since she'd said she was free for a bit.

"My sister," he said, leaning forward to brace his arms on the table and grin. "The latte's for her." Since he'd been drinking from it since they sat down, that and the grin made it clear he was joking.

[Calliope Gallo]

On Callie's way to meet Eric, she had gotten a phone call from their mother. So she'd loitered around a little bit before actually going inside to try and finish the conversation. It hadn't taken her that long. At least, that's what she thought. However, as she stepped back inside her eyes quickly looked over the two of them. She was unsure of what to do with the situation. How to take it.

"Prépei na páo," Callie said; her voice would have been audible by now. She didn't stop in her stride, instead choosing to walk over towards them as she chuckled into the phone; "Mou leípeis polý." She greeted Jez with a smile, pressing her hand to the back of her chair and leaning on it. "S’agapo, Mama. Antio!"

"Hi!" She spoke with clear surprise laced in her tone. Callie moved to rest both hands on her brother's shoulders, leaning to the side to press her lips to his cheek once, twice, three times. She pointed to the drink on the table, smiling widely into his ear. "Is that for me?" She asked. And that deserved a fourth kiss on his cheek.

Still unsure as to whether or not she should sit down, Callie did not yet take a seat. She ran her arms around Eric's neck in a type of hug, resting her chin on his shoulder. "Am I interrupting something, or..."

Jez instantly smiled a real smile when she saw Callie walk into the coffee shop. "Hi," she glanced down at the drink then over at Eric curiously.

How did Callie know Eric? How did anyone know anyone? But there were so many questions right now.

[Eric Jones]

Eric grinned in understanding as he heard Callie. He knew some greek; hell, he'd grown up with it all around him, but both he and his dad understood a lot more then they could speak. "Say hi for me," he called just as his little sister hung up the phone and came over. He wrinkled his nose slightly as she kissed his cheek repeatedly, he just grinned. "Your usual," he said, handing the cup over as she settled over his shoulder.

"Callie, this is..." Eric paused and shot a quick smile at the other blonde girl he was sitting with, "Actually, we didn't exchange names, did we? I'm Eric. This is Callie, my little sister." With his foot, he pushed out a chair, "Wanna seat, Callie. You'll be bouncing off the walls once you've had that."

[Calliope Gallo]

Callie stood, resting her free hand on her hip and bringing the straw to her mouth. These things were awesome. She could never understand the way people were so into caffeine. That just wasn't her thing. Too bitter. Her blue eyes darted to the chair that was tossed out for her and she walked forward, leaning against the back of it with her hand again.

"Yeah, we know each other." She said, nudging him with her fist softly as she sat down. "Her name's Jez." Callie looked over to him briefly, giving him a small look that would be outside of Jez's vision. What, were they on a date or something? Had she been hitting on Eric?

Jez smiled, "Hi Eric."

She raised a curious eyebrow at Callie's choice of drink, "So what are you drinking? It looks too sweet," she made a face at that.

She looked over at Eric and suddenly her look changed when he mentioned that Callie was his little sister. If her older brothers had taught her anything you feared and respected older brothers, sometimes more than the father.
