The Basics
Name: Terrance Yesterday Kellam
Nicknames: TK, Kell
Age: 17 (June 4th)
Orientation: Homosexual
Desired Rank/Job: Student | second-year Junior, on the verge of failing again
Powers: Omnilingualism, meaning he can understand any language, whether it be written, spoken, signed, etc. When encountering an unfamiliar language, it takes a little longer for his brain to analyze and translate it as opposed to one he's already encountered. While his power is involuntary (for the most part), occasionally if he uses his power for a long period of time, he'll get "stuck" and forget English. Constantly switching between languages (sans English) will cause headaches.

The Details
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Dark Brown
Any Piercings? None, aside from his ears.
Any Tattoos? None, yet
Any Scars? None that are important
General Appearance:
His appearance is based on everyone around him. Due to constantly being surrounded by friends and acquaintances, he tends to take his style from others. He doesn't do it to be accepted, he just doesn't consider himself to have the necessary skills to be "fashionable." Which is fine. His shirts tend to be kind of tight, as well as his pants. Lots of different hats, and different accessories.
He likes to keep himself toned, so he goes to the gym a few times a week. Nothing too heavy, just a bit here and there. He's far from a gym rat, but he doesn't want to be out of shape.
Hygiene is always in check. He gets the occasional compliment from females on the way he smells (after all, he does have a secret). One would think TK would be cocky and obnoxious, but he's not. He just didn't turn out that way. This does not mean that he doesn't know he looks good.
Personality:
Far from antisocial. His gift allows him to communicate with people from all over and he utilizes it. Occasionally, TK might overdo it and talk too much, but he tends to notice. He doesn't like to be by himself for too long, he'd rather enjoy the company of others. TK even goes so far as to talk to random people on a regular basis. He can't seem to stay still for very long, ready to travel, whether it be down the road or across the globe. Parties, social gatherings, even just going out to a museum, always moving, always communicating. It seems as if his powers gave him a boost in confidence. Seriously, why would he be given the power to communicate and not use it?
He doesn't really flirt too much, not unless he's actually interested in someone. Since he's discovered himself, he's only had one real relationship, and despite his need to always be around people, he doesn't mind being single. He assumes that kind of thing will happen when the time is right.
When he's actually stuck by himself, he doesn't really know what to do. Before he became the social butterfly he is now, he was always by himself, working on schoolwork or reading comics. Now, if he were to be left to his own devices, he'd probably go insane. Mostly, being alone reminds him of those times and he doesn't like to think about that.
Despite being gay, TK is far from feminine. There are the random gay moments, yes, but most people have to be told about his sexuality. He takes pride in that, actually, which is a good thing considering he hasn't come out to his family yet. While he's incredibly close with his father, he's afraid of his reaction. He'd tell his mother based on his reaction.
He doesn't mind helping out his friends, even going so far as to almost get suspended for helping a friend cheat in high school (which happened to bring him to this lovely establishment). This might get him in trouble as consequences normally don't phase him.
Aside from languages, everything else can, as he says, "kick rocks." He's pretty bad at almost every other subject, which is clearly reflected in his grades. It doesn't really both him, though. He knows what his future career will be and it will not involve solving for the derivative of the square root of 'x' to the tangent of cosine to the third. Seriously?! When the hell is that ever going to be useful?!

History
TK almost wasn't born. I mean, really, how many mothers do you know keep their babies at fifteen? His grandparents on both sides were hellbent on Elise having an abortion, but the two teen parents decided to have the baby anyway. TK's grandparents did not take this too well and the two teens soon found themselves living with Elise's older sister. This was good, though, as it helped shape Terrance's future.
The couple broke all parental ties a few months after TK was born and tried to raise their little boy the best they could. But, the couple didn't last long and they eventually broke up. They remained on relatively good terms, even still living together while Elise was seeing someone new. TK experienced a pretty good family life regardless of the circumstances. Looking back, he wouldn't have it any other way. He was a bit of a loner, but things were fine.
His father eventually became a pilot and whenever his mother would allow, he would travel with him on various trips. He got to see the world at a young age. Paris, Hawaii, California, Canada, everywhere. One summer, before the ninth grade, his father treated TK to a trip to Texas, as he'd seem to get very distant from everyone for a few months. In actuality, he was coming to terms to being gay. Over the course of the trip, he found himself interested in Spanish. He thought it was sooo easy to pick up on, so he decided to look up a few things on the internet about it. And it happened to take his mind off of what he was mentally going through. His mother, interested in the fact that her son was interested in another language, purchased a few Spanish-learning books for him (and his siblings). When he had to take a language class his freshman year of high school, he immediately took up Spanish, finding it quite easy. His power was still dormant, but it was starting to wake up…
TK eventually ended up helping his new classmates with all their assignments, going so far as to cheat for one of his friends. The two were caught and sent to the office. After a brief yet stern talking to from his principal, teacher, and parents, the two were suspended and sent home. Being suspended actually helped him discover his ability in full. Suspended and grounded with no outside communication all day? And to make matters worse, his mother went so far as to take certain cords needed to watch TV and get on the internet to work with her that day, leaving TK completely bored out of his mind all day. All he had left were books. There weren't too many in his room; instead, he headed to his sister's. There, on her shelf, were a bunch of books their mother had gotten them around the time TK became interested in Spanish. A few Spanish books, as well as a German and Korean book. He picked up those two and decided to skim through them. Confusion and curiosity set in when he began to realize that the more he skimmed through the books, the more he just understood the languages without even trying.
The next night, a man came to visit. He explained to them what was going on with their son. TK was shocked, but intrigued, informing them about what had happened the previous day. His parents were amazed as well, and even inquired about the 'status' of their other children. Within a few days he was packed and ready to attend Hammel. His parents were skeptical, but TK assured them he'd be okay. Upon his arrival, going off what he had told the Hammel recruiter, he was tested to discover exactly what he talent was.
That was quite a few years ago. There's plenty of languages he's come in to contact with, making sure he's up-to-date and never caught off guard like that first time. He reinvented himself upon his arrival, making sure he wasn't going to be alone forever. Hammel has been good to him. He's even thinking about using the name for his upcoming translation business.
Roleplay Example
Kyle was nervous… but TK wasn't. "Just slip me your test once I finish mine, and I'll do yours, ok?" TK told him. He leaned against the lockers, flipping through his Spanish textbook. He'd only really skimmed through it once or twice, and that seemed to be enough for him. He'd been in the class for about a months now and the language only got easier. Granted, that's what is supposed to happen in school: you go, learn, the subject gets easier, you pass. But for TK, it seemed like he was skipping the "learn" step and just understood it. He wasn't really complaining though. It was an easy A.
The bell rung and the two friends headed to class, making sure to sit right next to each other. The teacher commented on the fact that he assumed the class wasn't going to be ready except for Terrance, his star pupil -- secretly, TK was saving the teacher from getting fired at the end of the year. Apparently too many students were failing the class. The teacher closed the classroom door and handed out the test. TK smirked and looked to Kyle, who looked a little nervous but really had no other choice. Like the rest of the class, his grades were less than stellar and if the two were going to hang out that weekend, they had to pass this.
TK looked over the test first, noting it was single-sided. I'll be done with this in like two minutes, he thought, shaking his head in a happy disbelief. He had written his buddy's name, and a few questions were answered before he looked over to Kyle, who had only written TK's name and answered one of the questions… wrong. It's "building"…, he sighed. He was going to have to make that correction. In no time, he was done, doing another skim over the paper to make sure he was correct.
TK eyed the teacher, who was sitting behind his desk, and took his pencil, and tapped it three times on the desk, the signal that it was time to switch. Nodding in time, TK mouthed "One, two, three" and the switch was made. Kyle sighed a sigh of relief, happy that there was a definite A in his future. TK smiled and went about finishing "his" test… Well, that was until he heard someone clear their throat right above him. Yup… he got caught. "Heeeeeeeeey. Sounds like you have a cold… Want a cough drop?"
