You're My Lunch Date (Chase)

Callie had rushed down once class had finished and lunch had been called. She had plans today, and that was always fun. It was fun to meet up with new people and hang out. She was definitely interested in spending more time with Chase. He wasn't like the people she normally hung out with, and that was why he was so interesting to her. They had agreed to spend lunch together because he was making food for it. How did they get to that? She couldn't remember.

At any rate, she was there first and she was pretty quick to hit a shaded spot of grass and kick her shoes off. It was nice to feel grass between her toes and all that. She fell back underneath the shade of a tree, her arms behind her head and her eyes closed. It was a lot nicer than being pent up in a classroom for hours anyway. She hadn't seen any sign of Chase yet, but she was sure that he'd be around soon.

The lunch bell finally rang, after what seemed like eternity. Chase hated being cooped up inside classrooms all day, it made him feel so restless. He was the first out of his classroom after the sounding of the bell, weaving his way through the students starting to swarm into the halls. He was meeting someone for lunch today, and had prepared it this morning before class, leaving it in a friend's dorm in the fridge. They met up at the dorm and Chase grabbed the food, making his way down to their meeting place.

The cool air was so refreshing, Chase took a moment to inhale a nice big lungful of it before continuing on towards where he saw Cali, leaning against a tree, eyes closed, in the shade. He strode over, sitting down across from her, trying not to make any noise as he set down the food containers in the grass. "Am I really late enough for you to dose off?" he said suddenly, hoping to startle her a little.

The feeling of the air and the sensation of the outside world really was calming. It wasn't as if she really had been drifting off, but she definitely felt herself start to find a more peaceful feeling as opposed to the stress of the classroom. She had no idea he was there until he spoke. The surprise of his voice caused her to tumble to the side and almost plant her face in the grass. She quickly recovered by pushing against the ground, turning, and looking up at her.

"What? No, I wasn't sleeping. I promise!" Callie flashed her very best and brightest smile in his direction. "It's just... Well, it's a lot nicer out here than it is in there. Sometimes I hate having to sit still for such a long time. It makes my joints twitch." She explained. It was probably an odd statement, but it made sense to her.
