The Basics

Name: Danielle Marie Cooper
Nicknames: Dani (This was because her grandfather had trouble pronouncing “Danielle” and it stuck ever since.)
Age: 17
Orientation: Homosexual
Desired Rank/Job: Student
Powers: Electrokinisis and Electric Form
Dani has the power to conjure small amounts of electricity, sense electric currents in cables and electronics that she touches, manipulate electricity/electric fields within roughly 10 feet of her, and she has the ability also travel through outlets and electronics by transforming herself into electrons.
Side effects include restlessness, accidentally powering off electronics and making lights flicker around her, sometimes shocking others upon touch, sensitivity to the buzzing sounds of electronics and lights, and the occasional bad hair day. After returning to normal from electrical form, side effects are more likely to occur.
Dani has basic control of her powers, but if she gets really excited or nervous, things can go a little out of hand, but nothing too serious, mostly lights flickering and nearby electronics going a little bonkers.

The Details
Hair Color: Most often dark brown, but she dyes it to other shades of brown from time to time.
Eye Color: Dark Brown
Any Piercings?
Both ears are pierced once.
Any Tattoos?
None.
Any Scars?
Nothing major or worth noting.
General Appearance:
Dani takes after her mother when it comes to looks. Although she is a small girl (only reaching 5'2"), because of her hobbies, Dani is fit shape, but doesn’t have much muscle tone. Her dark brown hair falls past her shoulders, and has a soft wave throughout it. Her smiles are genuine and a bit dorky, but cute nonetheless.
One would typically find her wearing fitting jeans, a witty t-shirt, and Chuck Taylors. Although she tends to dress pretty casually, Dani isn’t afraid to throw on a nice dress and heels if she has needs to, or if, on the rare occasion, she feels like dressing up for the heck of it.
Personality:
Dani isn’t what you’d call your stereotypical lesbian geek from Hipster Town, USA (AKA – Portland, Oregon). She is though, all of those things. But mostly gay. She isn’t one to shout out her sexual orientation to every passerby and wear rainbow shoelaces, but if it comes up in conversation, Dani isn’t afraid to hide it. As for her geekiness, once again, she doesn’t flaunt it, but she also isn’t afraid to have an hour long conversation with someone about how Firefly was the best television show on the planet. She enjoys making references that most normal people don’t understand, and has a bad habit of sharing random trivia when she is nervous (especially around girls.)
Danielle can also be very stubborn at times. If she wants to do something, she gets it done. She has a dominant personality and doesn’t like losing control of situations. Dani’s pretty independent and doesn’t like asking for help, which can cause her to seem a bit hard to approach, but she is a loyal (and somewhat weird) friend once you get to know her.

History
Danielle was born November 11, 1995 to a musical theatre actress and a sound designer. Because of her parents’ careers, they were often traveling for shows, and after Danielle was born, they simply brought her along. Growing up in the theatre world was quite exciting for Danielle, and as the daughter of two people who worked in the business, she was given voice and dance lessons. Although Dani loved to dance, she did not show much interest for singing or even being on stage. Instead, she preferred to be backstage, helping the crew in any way she could, especially as she grew older. Instead of admiring the actors on stage, she looked up to the master electrician who gave her comic books and explained to her how light bulbs worked.
As Danielle turned five, she had to stop travelling with her parents and start going to school. It was decided that she would move in with her grandfather, Takeya, who resided in Portland, Oregon while Mr. and Mrs. Cooper worked. In order to stay close to their little girl, they took on productions on the western side of the country so they could see Danielle whenever their schedules allowed. During the summers, Danielle went back to the theatre world with her parents. At first, Dani couldn’t stand the idea, but over time, she slowly got used to living a more normal life. Because Takeya had immigrated to America from Japan when he was in was a in his early twenties, he kept his household in a more traditional Japanese manner. This was fine for Dani, and she made the best of mixing both Western and Japanese cultures as she grew up. Danielle continued to take dance lessons, but also took up swimming because her grandfather lived conveniently close to the local pool.
In school, Danielle was an average student. She didn’t like homework, insisted recess was too short, and thought the cafeteria lady was the most terrifying person in the world. Out of school, Dani was just a normal kid. On Tuesdays and Thursdays she had private dance lessons after school, and she was made Junior Lifeguard after going through the courses at the pool. During weekends and in her spare time, Danielle would play outside with her friends, and if it were raining, she’d settle inside with a book or videogame.
The summer after Danielle turned eleven, her mother got the part of Bloody Mary in the show South Pacific. Dani was, as usual, helping out backstage. During a light check before a show, it was discovered that one of the Source Fours were out, and Dani was asked to fetch a HPL light bulb. She did as she was told, and ran to the supply closet to grab one. She brought the packaged light bulb back to the master electrician and opened up the packaging. As soon as she touched the light bulb, it lit up. Dani had almost dropped it in shock, and didn’t know how to react; she simply held it in her hand, watching it glow. The master electrician grabbed the light bulb out of Dani’s hand quickly, trying to hide what just happened, but a decent amount of the crew and cast members had already witnessed the event.
By the next day a Hammel Recruiter was knocking on their door. Her parents accepted the news quite well, and were even proud to be the parents of a meta-human. Her father always liked to make the joke that she received her powers because he had caught Dani trying to chew on a power strip when she was two. Of course, that wasn’t really how it worked, but he still had fun telling people it.
Seven years have passed and Dani is still at Hammel Institute, now in her final year.
Roleplay Example
Reina certainly hadn’t expected Maki to figure out she was missing so quickly. Just as when she thought she was off the hook for one minute, she had to start running again. Oh how she hated running.
The yankii cut a corner quickly, and decided the best way to get Maki off her trail was to hide. Looking at the various stores along the street, her wonky eyes lingered over one particular sign.
A bookstore…Maki wont expect that one!
Reina slipped inside, and immediately felt out of place. She wasn’t even sure if she had ever been in a bookstore before in her life. Reading wasn’t something the young rebel was interested in. She had typically watched movies of the books required to read in school and begged Maki to help her with her book reports. Nonetheless, she tried to blend. Reina walked towards a corner of the store and grabbed a random book off the shelf.
Unfortunately she didn’t realize it was an adult romance book.
