The easy S T U F F . . .Name: Jaythen Andrew McKay
Nickname: Jay, JT
Age: 25
Orientation: Heterosexual
Member Group: Local, Unemployed
Power(s): Doppelganger:
Jaythen has a full grasp of his powers, which include the ability to turn into fictional characters, and people he knows personally in real life. The better he knows someone (real or imaginary), the faster he can transform. He can also imitate the voice of the person he mimics. He is unable to transform into animals, humans only.
Side effects: Freezing. Every once in a while, if Jaythen remains as someone else for a prolonged period of time, when he's ready to go back to what he actually looks like, it's hard for that to be instantaneous, making the usually fast paced process quite slow. Other minor drawbacks to his power include: nausea, and blurred vision which often leads to headaches.

He had somehow persuaded the blonde to call their mom from his cell phone and put her on speaker phone. It was the summer of 2011 and Linden was trying his damn best to get into college, and Jaythen had lovingly told him not to bother.
“Don’t bother, it’s just a waste of time,” he said as he took a seat on the bench outside the main office of the University of Vermont.
“Yeah, then I could be like you instead,” his younger brother replied instantly, “old, bitter, and nothing but dark, dry humour to spit out.” But he said it with a smile on his face, almost lovingly.
“Exactly,” the older man said, pointing a finger at Linden as though he had nailed the right answer straight on the head. “Exactly,” he repeated in a dreamy voice, leaning back onto the bench with his hands behind his head. Linden laughed and shook his head.
They both knew Jaythen was stuck at home, unemployed and far too old to have an excuse to be under the same roof as his siblings in high school. JT simply wasn’t in a rush to move out, he had nothing to work towards and nothing to inspire him, so moving out and getting a job he hated would not be what he wanted in life.
“Besides, who would tease you guys if I didn’t stick around?” He asked, an idea forming in his mind. His parent’s mansion was big enough for everyone, and they had plenty of money to support themselves and their seven adopted kids. They loved Jaythen enough to let him stay and leech off of them until he was ready to move out. And he loved them enough to want to watch over the smaller ones.
It wasn’t because he was afraid to leave his family, or the comfort they gave him. He liked to think they needed him as much as he needed them. His emotions were only ever shown when he acts in his theatre club/program, where he can be anyone he wants to be. Otherwise, he’s simply playing video games and wasting his life in general.
“How about I just waltz into the office and tell them all about your track record at high school?” Jaythen offered, his body slowly morphing into Linden’s, “I would do a great job of pointing out all your flaws,” he said, but the blonde gave his older brother a ‘don’t-do-it-or-you’re-dead-meat’ look, and JT simply sat back in his seat again, keeping his Linden face on to bug his sibling.
High school had been hell for the both of them, maybe a little worse for Jaythen. His personality kept him from having a lot of friends, since his negative attitude towards everything made others think of him as depressive. He says it’s because he’s a realist and no one should get their hopes up about anything until it actually happens. He had average grades and no desire to go to University, mostly because he was rebelling against his parents and how his sister (the one who's the same age as him) had gone. He’s always wanted to do things differently.
Jaythen was recruited at the age of thirteen, when he was actually able to become the characters he played on stage without noticing. Within a day, someone was at hishousemansion, informing his parents that he needed to attend Hammel in order to harness his powers. While there, he learned how not only to control when he became someone else, but how. He used this to his advantage, hiding in the crowds as someone else entirely, or using his powers to pull pranks on his siblings. He's never been overly cruel, or abused his powers in any way during his high school career.
Linden decided then to call their mother to prove a point, and JT sarcastically suggested she be put on speaker phone for proof of what she said. He felt sort of bad over what their mother had said, but it was the truth, and after that, he was satisfied. Reaching to turn the phone off before his younger bro could embarrass himself further, their mother continued.
“You wouldn’t want to end up being like your older brother though, maybe you should try.”
Now it was Linden’s turn to smile smugly. “Thanks mom, talk to you later.” He hung up, and looked back to where Jaythen had once been, only to find the brunette gone. “JT?” Linden asked out loud, finding him, to his horror, in the office of the University, talking to the secretary and filling out papers.
“Yeah, I’m Linden McKay, could I have an application please?” He asked for his little brother, walking out of the office with a happy smile, instantly transforming back into his true form.
“What’d you do that for?!” Linden asked, snatching the papers away from Jay, who simply laughed and slung a shoulder over his little brother’s shoulder. “Relax man, I’m just trying to help you do better than me, mom’s right you know, you wouldn’t want to end up being a lazy bum like me.” A sickly sweet smile was on his face. He cared about his younger siblings, more than he was willing to admit, and although he didn’t really care about his situation, he didn’t want Linden or anyone else being ridiculed or made fun of, especially by their mother.Behind the M A S K . . .Name: Bre
