Crows and dead trees, crows and dead trees . . . my girl, my girl, don't liieeeee to me, tell me where did you sleep last night . . . Oh, Kurt, why did you leave us?
All things considered, his little routine was working pretty well. It felt like he'd stuffed a sock in his mouth, but that was a small price to pay to be able to butt out of other peoples' business . . .
"I would absolutely love that," he said, leaping off the stage, "do they still serve those roast potatoes? I freaking LOVE those . . ."
He liked Penelope, he was finding. She was the kind of person he would have been absolutely terrified of back when he was going here, but as it was . . . well, he didn't want to be the 22 year old hanging out with 16 year olds, but he hoped she'd feel comfortable opening up to him a bit more. At the very least, he'd take a chance to hear her sing again.
