Time Warp: What the Future Holds (Nick)

Nick nodded and headed straight towards the liquor table. He lifted two tequila shots and gave on of them to Kadi. ''Cheers.'', he said with a sheepish grin, absolutely not looking forward to the horrible taste of the blank drink. He lifted the shot to his lips and drank it. He shook his head and put the now empty glass down. ''Yuck.'', he finally said and grabbed a beer, popped it open and swallowed a mouthful just to get the horrible taste out of his mouth. And then, just to be cool, he grabbed another shot, and did the same routine over again. After the third shot he called it quits and finished his beer along with it all. Yup, he was so going to regret this tomorrow.

With a new beer in his hands he walked over to a crowd of people he actually knew here. They didn't really talk about something overly interesting. Just last games scores and how they thought their next game would end. He looked at Kadi with a sheepish grin, already feeling the alcohol take control of his body. The shots made his head feel light, and yes he knew he was a lightweighter, so three shots had probably been to overdo it. But heck, what could possibly happen?

It was a good thing Kadence knew how to handle herself in parties like this where she barely knew anyone but everyone knew her. Being Hayden's little sister had its benefits, like all of the raging parties. Nick handed her a shot of tequila and she smirked, tequila was her favorite by far, but she had a habit of stripping when she drank it. So the three shots he did were nothing to her, and she kept going until she was good and buzzed. Then she snagged a beer and started drinking that. Beer always happened to get her there faster than the liquor did, or maybe it was the combination of the two, but either way she could already feel it getting her.

Nick walked over to a random group and she went to mingle with others that she didn't necessarily know. She pissed through her beer in seconds and went to snag another one. The affects were really starting to hit her now and when a song came on that she knew she let out a hoot and went to the middle of the dancing crowd. Everyone had to dance at parties after all. She raised her beer in the air and swayed with the song, laughing and having a good time. Kadi could feel the bodies pressing in on her the more people joined, but she didn't seem to have a problem with it.

Meeting eyes with Nick, she waved him over with a smile.

Beer after beer, shot after shot, and then of course, the classical barrel with a tube. Yep, by the way he was done with the round, he was feeling good and buzzed. If not even more than that. Still, he sought out the blonde, trying to locate her in the crowd. And once he finally did, she nodded him towards the dance floor. Being in the drunken state as he was he didn't overthink anything and went straight over like a dog on a leash.

At this point he didn't really care and let the rythm of the music control his body. And it helped that she was kind to the eyes as well. Sure, there was a few people, both girls and boys alike trying to come in between, but he didn't take much notice of them. Of course, if she had decided to dance off with someone else, he could've easily found someone else. But he preferred it this way. Dancing close to her, his hands on her hips, and the way she looked in the half-dark. Man, she was truly growing more and more beautiful the older she got.

Once Nick found his way over to her she couldn't help herself, she just didn't want him going off anywhere else because she wanted him all to herself. It was crazy what alcohol could do to someone's looks. Enhance them maybe? She didn't know, but it was like he'd gotten hotter since she started drinking. Or maybe it was just the temperature of the room because of the body heat surrounding them. Either way, something was hotter and she was blaming it on him.

His hands went to her hips and she put her arm around his neck, still moving with the beat. It was a rather pumped up song for a while that had people thrashing but as soon as the song slowed to a more sensual thumping, well everyone started getting a lot closer. Kadence found herself rid of the beer and tossed it, landing it somehow into the bin of the rest of the bottles. It was sheer luck with that one. With both arms free now, she wrapped them both around his neck and pressed up closer to him. Her eyes traveled up to his as they danced and then dropped to stare at his lips.

Man, the way she looked at him and the way it felt having her close, was enough to drive him mad. It didn't exactly take him long to take the hint, and his lips found hers. His hand traveled to the back of of her neck. And he was sold.

Seconds later he had her pushed up against a wall, in one of those hot make-out scenes you often find in movies. And then they were on their way up the stairs. It all happened in the blink of an eye, or it could just be the fact that Nick was already beyond being drunk and kept blacking out. He didn't know, and he didn't really care either. He had this amazingly super-hot chick clinged to his body, he could worry about the rest later.

After finally finding a bedroom that wasn't in use, he dropped himself onto the bed with her next to him. He rolled over to his side and let his fingertip roll over her lips and smiled. ''Did anyone ever tell you that you're beautiful?'', he said. Though he'd be amased if she even understood anything he said the way he was mumbling and what not. He let his finger run down from her lips to her jawline, gently caressing it. If he remembered this tomorrow, he'd totally ask her out on a proper date. Hell, he'd give up his playboy life for someone like her.

Kadence melted into him as he kissed her and wrapped her arms around his neck. As they went through the crowd she found herself pushed up against a wall as he kissed her and then all of a sudden they were going up stairs. It was all happening really fast and she wasn't really able to keep up with everything that was happening. It wasn't registering very well that this was Nick she was kissing.

They finally entered a bedroom that didn't have passionate love-making going on. He flopped down on the bed and she a little more clumsily fell onto the bed with a giggle. He rolled over and traced her lips making her shiver. His question was a little muddled and it was a wonder she understood, but hey, she was drunk, maybe it was a second language between people. She smiled and shrugged, "Sure, but I don't think any of them really meant it." Not in the way she wanted at least. It was usually to get her to sleep with them. Not that it didn't work.

Kadi closed her eyes as he stroked his fingers down her jaw. She really wished she remembered this tomorrow. Her mind was a little cloudy, but she still saw that this was Nicholas Darwin she was with. The guy she'd developed a silly crush on back when she was first introduced to him by Hayden. Maybe he'd always known they should be together? She liked to believe her brother set this up in some weird way.

He smiled sheepishly and leaned in to kiss her lips. ''Well, you are.'' Nick had no intentions of sleeping with her. Not that he could anyways with all the amount of alcohol he had been drinking. But it was probably for the best anyways. Right? He sat up and pulled her against him. With her head on his chest he placed a kiss on top of her head and wrapped one of his arms around her. Nick had always felt overprotective of this girl, especially now that her brother, his late friend was gone. Though, he wouldn't have been this intimate with her if it wasn't for the alcohol. She really deserved better than being treated like this, and he knew it.

With the guilt poking at the back of his mind he rested his head on top of hers and smiled. ''You all right, Sunshine?'', he asked and tilted his head to the side so he could see her face. He didn't want her to feel like she had to go through with something she didn't want. He didn't want to feel like he was pressuring her into kissing him. Hell, Hayden woulda kicked hiss ass just for looking at her the wrong way, and here they were; Making out inside some random bedroom. Well, not so much making out anymore, but still.

Kadence cupped his jaw as he kissed her and smiled at him. She couldn't help but feel a little special seeing as how she was two years younger than him and still managed to be sitting her with him. He pulled her up against him and she cuddled up, placing her head against his chest. It didn't matter how drunk she was, she was happy because all of the things she'd wanted so badly to do were finally happening. Kissing him, cuddling with him, feeling his arms wrap around her. All of it meant so much to her that she could barely stand it.

His head rested against hers and he asked if she was okay. She looked up at him and smiled, "How could I not be? I mean c'mon, Nick you had to know I've had a crush on you ever since Hayden introduced us." And if he didn't, well she hoped it was obvious now and that he'd actually want to do something about this. Kadi knew her brother well enough to know that with Nick, all he'd do is threaten his life, pull the Marine card and tell him to treat his baby sister right. Other than that, she knew her brother would be happy for them. Hayden had always talked Nick up back when she remembered him playing football.

Her reply got him smiling and he leaned in to place a kiss on her forehead. But being drunk and all it ended up with him crashing his head into hers instead. ''Ow..'', he muttered and rubbed his chin. He pulled back a little, still a smile on his lips. It was quite clear that he was getting more and more drunk as time passed. ''Maybe I shoulda stayed away from those shots..'', he said with a chuckle.

He thought about what she had said for a while, not quite sure what to make of it all. ''No. I didn't know.'', he said with narrowed eyes as he looked at her again. Back then she had been so young, the thought hadn't even crossed his mind. Then again, maybe it woula been creepy if it had. Back then she had always been Hayden's cute little sister, but now? She had grown up so fast it was still hard to believe that this soon-to-be grown up woman had been a child not to long ago. ''Huh..'', he said and his voice trailed away.

He bumped heads with her and she laughed and placed a hand to her forehead, "Yeah, ow." She looked up at him and laughed again at his comment. Yeah she probably shouldn't have had them either, but hey, it was fun anyway. "Aww does someone not know how to hold his liquor?" Kadence figured a guy his size would be able to at least handle as much as she could. Seriously, what a light weight. She scrunched her nose and laughed again at that thought.

Kadi knew that at the time she developed her crush on him, she was only a little thing. It was on a visit to see Hayden at Hammel back when she lived in Florida. At the time she had only been about ten which put him at twelve and Hayden at sixteen. Nick had just manifested and Hayden took a quick liking to him when he joined the team. It was funny that it had been nearly six years ago that it all happened. And at the time, she didn't know if it could be considered creepy or not seeing as how neither of them were teenagers and he hadn't quite hit the manwhore stage yet. Either way, she had been seen as Hayden's cute little sister for a long time and now she was no longer just cute.

"When was I supposed to Nick? At the time it had been a silly little kid crush, and since then you've had a bunch of girls falling all over you. I'm just Hayden's cute little sister after all, that's how everyone sees me that knew him." She shook her head and rolled away from him to look up at the ceiling. "What would you have done if I had said something?"
