The last week had been hell and Kiara was incredibly grateful that her classes had not started yet. Then again, she wasn’t even sure if studying would be one of the options right now. All she could focus on was Jackson leaving with Gabe and the emptiness it left in her life and heart. His apartment just as grey now that most stuff had been moved. Ki stayed there until the end of the month (and perhaps one more) given the contract had not ended yet, but it didn’t exactly look like it was being lived in. A couple of boxes stood near the walls, and pretty much all the rest there was what the girl had taken with her upon moving from the college dorms in with her boyfriend.
The blonde barely came out ever since and she lived on whatever food was left in the cabins, fridge and freezer. Other than that Ki filled her days with curling up on the mattress that had been on her dorm bed, bawling her eyes out more often than not. Everett had called her a couple of times by now, yet she tended to ignore those calls, afraid he would hear something in her voice. When he sent her a text though, asking if perhaps she would like to come over, his sister agreed. She would have to mentally prepare herself though, not wanting to show up being a mess.
So Kiara double-checked herself in the rearview mirror of her car, making sure no sad or tired eyes could be detected. Or, well, you know… she hoped so. Ev was a guy. They usually didn’t take notice of this kind of stuff. Soon enough Ki found herself standing in front of the young man’s door, giving it a couple of knocks before folding arms against her chest, attempting to stay strong.
