The Basics
Name: Savannah Anne Bishop
Nicknames: Savvy, Sav, Annie (by Gordon only), kiddo, squirt, brat (when her siblings are pissed), princess (ditto)
Age: 14 (born Nov. 22, 1998)
Orientation: Heterosexual
Desired Rank/Job: Student
Powers: Animal communication
- Savannah can talk to animals, though her ability is limited to rodents and domesticated mammals who have been around humans for over 6 months (animals that have been kept as pets, with consistent human interaction). She will usually speak to them in English, or telepathically, but telepathic communication doesn't work for all of them, and generally comes only after having many conversations with that same animal. So far, she can only communicate telepathically with the family pets (and only the mammalian ones).
- After communicating with an animal for more than five minutes, it takes her a bit to understand humans again. If it was a short or simple conversation, it will only be a few seconds of confusion; 15 minutes will generally be a minute of confusion; 30 minutes will be ten minutes; and an hour or more (which by itself is difficult, given the headaches and confusion that come with longer conversations) will be 20-45 minutes out of commission (depending on the length of time). Generally she will spend this time watching a video or listening to music, so she can enjoy the sight or sound without needing to know the words.
- Since manifesting, she has begun to enjoy burrowing, especially for sleep.
- She frequently has bursts of energy followed by naps. She sleeps far more than your average 14 year old.
- She has difficulty paying attention in wooded areas, due to high levels of rodent chatter that she often wants to interpret.
- Gnawing. She can't help it, it's fun. This usually takes the form of carrots or celery, or chewing on pencils and pens.
- While she is currently omnivorous, she may have a vast change of heart if she ever meets a domesticated cow or pig. Poultry and fish are still in the clear, though.
- Thanks to her power, the Bishop household has no problems with mice.
- Sometimes she is under the false impression that she is Snow White and/or Cinderella and/or Sleeping Beauty and will end up calling a ton of animals to the house and then losing communication with them. This can be awkward, and frequently takes far longer to undo than it did to do in the first place. Also, mice cannot sew and squirrels make horrible room-cleaners.

The Details
Hair Color: Dirty blonde
Eye Color: brown-green (hazel)
Any Piercings? none
Any Tattoos? none
Any Scars? What you'd expect from growing up with 11 older siblings. Nothing horribly noticeable, though.
General Appearance: Savvy has a real all-American look to her - sandy blonde hair, a decent tan, and a thousand-watt smile. She's 5'3" but hopes she'll get taller. She's not working with much in the curved department, but what she does have she can accentuate on occasion.
Most of the time, her style is laid back, and a little girly. Her sisters weren't allowed to wear makeup until they were 14, but Savvy got to wear it at 11, and she still does like to get all dressed up (though she rarely puts forth more effort than just eyeliner and lipgloss). She's not especially good at walking in heels, but she's still a little obsessive over them. She is a fashion plate for whatever she feels like wearing, or her siblings decide to dress her up in.
Personality: Savannah is both willful and eager to please. Often, she is eager to please her siblings by acting willful toward her parents or other siblings. She always wants to be included in anything anyone is doing, but can be a bit of a flake about commitments. She gets impatient with herself often, and will throw temper tantrums, even though she knows she's too old for it. She is willing to put someone down in order to gain approval, but only to a certain degree. She isn't willing to actually harm another person (emotionally or physically) for someone's amusement. Except her siblings. She will usually do whatever her siblings say, partially because she wants their approval, part because she looks up to them, and part because she's kinda gullible. She has been the butt of multiple dumb blonde jokes, which will make her glare and pout. But she can be pretty gullible, and is definitely over-trusting.
Because of her desire to please her siblings, she has ended up dabbling in lots of different things, and doesn't really have one true passion in life. She sometimes does sports, sometimes art, sometimes academics - she's a Jill of all trades, thanks to a varied (or hectic) home environment. But living in that environment also influenced how she behaves with her friends - she can be a little rough with them, or a little violent when joking, and has been known to throw a punch if someone really gets on her bad side.
Her eagerness to please is a little more complicated outside of the Bishop house - she wants to remain true to herself, but also wants to be accepted. Often, this contrast ends up with her being a little outlandish, very outgoing, rather sassy (she was taught everyone loves a rebel), and frustrated by some social interactions (insulting other people, self-deprecating comments amongst friends, and other mean-girls style behavior). She crushes very easily (primarily on her siblings' friends), but can also be distracted from those crushes easily. Both to increase her knowledge for social interactions and because she just happens to like it, Savvy will listen to a lot of pop music and indulge in celebrity gossip. She devours fashion magazines (primarily for the celebrities, not the fashion advice) and entertainment tabloids. She has been known to imitate inappropriate music videos.
Your Vices
Likes: Music (primarily pop, but she listens to all manner of different things, taking inspiration from the libraries of all of her siblings as well as those of her friends and the Internet - she will listen to showtunes), animals (duh), the beach, swimming, board games, running, junk food, pop culture, entertainment news and talk shows, reality tv (most tv, actually), music videos, making people laugh, impressing people, shocking people, her family, ice cream, texting, shopping, swimming, vacations, goofing off, cartoons, Disney movies
Dislikes: Being yelled at, receiving the silent treatment, being blamed for things (whether she did them or not), feeling helpless, mean girls, having to be mean, adults who say that they understand what she's going through, invitations (having to invite people, or worrying about being invited or not invited to things), cigarettes and other drugs, being caught in between two people who are arguing, being called brat or princess (princess almost always being used in a mocking tone), arguments, being tricked or manipulated, vegans, anything preceded by the word 'soggy'
Strengths: Physical ability (she's relatively fit, and is very enthusiastic, though will occasionally be a bit clumsy), creativity, eating chicken wings (she's the most efficient in their family), remembering trivial information, remembering song lyrics or who wrote a song, rhymes, creative language (either elaborate curse words or twisting words so that she isn't really lying even though she basically is - and in that same vein-), lying (she will feel very guilty, though), mazes
Weaknesses: Dancing (for real, anyway - she's very good at making a fool of herself, though, and good at kind of vaguely dancing without doing any actual steps or moves), patience (she is easily frustrated with herself, and sometimes with others as well), emotions (she can be very dramatic and her emotional scales can be easily tipped - especially if they start to tip and then someone tells her to man up), organization, scheduling (she can be a bit of a flake - it isn't uncommon for her to break plans at the last minute), admitting she's wrong
Fears: What people think of her, anything happening to her family members, anyone in her family disowning them or being disowned, when her siblings fight (seriously), dying alone, having no friends, that maybe her friends aren't really her friends, earthquakes, axe murderers
Secret:
- Secretly feels quite close to Zach, and will go to him for advice or if she wants to be around someone and not talk, and they have an unspoken agreement that if she ever does something really emotional they don't have to talk about it. Before he moved out, if she had a nightmare she would sneak into his room and sleep on the floor or in an armchair in his room, and they wouldn't even acknowledge that it happened come morning. Now that he has moved out, she sometimes sleeps in his room for comfort reasons. And feels kinda creepy about it, so she doesn't tell anyone. She will also secretly take the bus to go visit him and then lie and say that her parents know she's visiting. She thinks this is a secret, but if her parents talk to him Zach will mention Savvy's visits.
- She feels pressured into having something against Claudia, even though she doesn't, because she isn't a real Bishop sibling. When she was very young, one of her siblings (she doesn't remember who, but it was Gaige) told her that Claudia wasn't their real sister and that she shouldn't hug her or talk to her. She's followed her siblings' lead in being a little less open to Claudia until she was 8 or 9, when she suddenly felt a need to be loved by her, but their relationship is still shadowed by the guilt Savvy feels over it.
- She secretly enjoys their annual road trip to their vacation home, despite the cramped cars and constant bickering, she likes to have everyone together.

History
It's not clear if Savannah was lucky or unlucky to be born into the Bishop clan (a family who jokes that their motto is "push!"), but what is clear is that she's definitely the last Bishop sibling. Being the 12th child, Savannah's birth was just barely preceded by her father's discreet vasectomy. There won't be a lucky number 13.
Savvy grew up as baby of the family - both doted on and despised (having far less strict rules by the time she rolled around, and receiving far more treatment siblings deemed as "playing favorites"), and highly protected while also manipulated. She was the one who would sit watching paint dry if an older sibling told her to (well, if they came up with a good enough reason, like "oh yeah, I do it all the time" or "it makes you meditate, and your meta powers will manifest").
As child after child was enrolled into Hammel, her parents realized that they would need to make up for the tuition and medical bills that came from 12 children. They worked more and more often, and the older kids became like surrogate parents when their real parents were busy. Because of this, Savvy feels more at ease going to Aurora for help than she does going to her mom, though when she is really upset she still looks to her mom for that comforting hug. If she can't find it there, she'll go to Devlin (if he's home) or Aurora, and if she's doesn't want to talk about something, or needs to stew, she goes to Zach.
In a family of all metas (or assumed metas prior to everyone's manifestation), Savannah, like most of her siblings, was eager to find out what her power was and go to Hammel. She even attempted to prompt her power right around the time she turned 11, taking the advice of her siblings to do stupid things like eat 15 habanero peppers, or jump into the lake at that time right before it would be freezing over. She was a gullible child, who trusted her siblings even when she probably shouldn't have. As consolation for her powers not manifesting, her parents allowed her to adopt a chipmunk from the local animal sanctuary, where it had just recovered from an attack from a bird of prey. Eri, as she named him, has only half a tail.
From age 8, she was telling all of her family members that she had manifested and could talk to animals. At the time, this was a lie. But her vivid imagination sometimes made her believe it, even if no one else did. She was taken for testing multiple times, and was scolded for raising a false alarm, but the ten or so times after that, she was just shrugged off. When her power did manifest when she was 13 - coming in the form of a (surprisingly polite) question from Eri while she was venting to him - her family didn't believe her at first. It wasn't until she convinced Eri to ride on the back of Kailin's (grudgingly compliant) cat, Meow Mix, that her family believed her and took her to Hammel.
She has now been at Hammel for almost two years, and still finds it frustrating. She finds it difficult to adhere to social rules, and she's not very good at keeping a schedule, so she's rather flaky. Instead of breaking her neck to find friends, she prefers to poach her siblings' friends, and therefore tends to hang out with older people. Because they have so many kids, the vast majority of Bishop's live at home to avoid paying for dorms at Hammel or college, so Savvy doesn't know people as well as those that live on campus do. When she feels awkward or out of place she will either attempt to tag along with a sibling (trying to be the cool younger sister and not mess anything up), or will spend time alone, sometimes venting to Eri or going to the family's treehouse to listen to animal chatter.
