A Night We Would Forget

Dani passing out was something Sawyer hadn't expected. Sure, she vaguely remembered the Asian saying she didn't usually drink but she would have thought a heavy makeout session would have sobered her right up. It didn't matter though, Sawyer had her fill of the cute electrokinetic but was left wanting more.

But like the lady she was, Sawyer tucked Dani under her covers and resisted kissing the girl goodnight before slipping out of the room and crossing the hall to go into another room. A much familiar room with a much familiar girl.

Of course Lucy was on her gaming console. As always. So Sawyer just jumps into bed, nearly missing it though in her drunken stupor. When the tatted up meta didn't even pay her any mind, Sawyer practically rolled over the thinner female, whining for attention.

"Pay attention to me Ozzzz." She pawed at the gaming console and made biting gestures in Lucy's general direction.

Comfortably huddled into her bed, the Australian had ditched her skinny jeans somewhere on the floor and decided that no pants was better than pants. Everyone always complained when she slept in pants. What was that even about?

This level though, was a total bitch. Lucy squinted her eyes and pursed her lips; despite the darkened lighting in her room - save for the fairy lights that illuminated her hyrule field wall - she was no where near a point of slumber. So she held the game boy colour console over her head, because she was in an old school mood. Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3. This game was the stupidest bloody thing on the god damn planet, but it was awesome.

And difficult. Ugh. She closed her eyes quickly, holding them shut tight. This little screen was way to damn spinny for her eyes. When she opened them though, she did so because the door opened. She took a quick, involuntary breath as her eyes glanced over to see-

A frown tugged at her mouth and she glanced away, tilting her head towards the space beside her anyway. It was a girl, just not the one she wanted in her bed. But Lucy didn't really acknowledge her, her thumbs mashing at keys with a little more pertinent drama than she might usually use.

"Hmm-" Lucy grumbled in response, the little console slipping from her hands and hitting her with a loud thump! in the chest. Her expression immediately soured more, a seething breath being sucked in through her teeth. "Whaaat." She whined. Yes, whined. She was whining now, as she picked up the console and turned it between her hands. "Where'd you even go?"

Not even noting just how pissy Lucy was being, Sawyer continued being obnoxiously clingy with her friend, butting her head against the Australian's shoulder and tangling their legs together.

Her question did jolt Sawyer back to where she had been from. A sly smirk lazily spread across the voice mimic's lips. "I just came back from macking on the hottest electrokinetic in school." She squeezed Lucy's arm and sighed.

"I cannot believe she actually led me back here. To her dorm." She sighed once more as her eyes closed. She licked her lips, trying to get back the taste of the lips she just pressed on not a few minutes ago.

Lucy fiddled with the console buttons, holding it in one hand and pushing at them with her free hands index finger. It wasn't the right way to play, but this level was all kinds of fucked up anyway, and it wasn't fun.

She let Sawyer slide a leg between her own, making a point of turning her head and glancing at her. Ugh. She didn't have those wide brown eyes. That weirdly shaped, ridiculously cute little nose. The ink manipulator must have looked crazy, staring at Sawyer's features like that.

When she mentioned kissing an electrokinetic, Lucy's eyes were on her mouth. She'd kissed Sawyer's lips before, but it wasn't as sweet.

And her voice. She wasn't British.

When all these things added up, Lucy was completely frowning at her. "What?" She asked obliviously. Lazily. As if every word she offered had gone over her head. Because it totally had.

Sawyer clearly didn't care about what Lucy was thinking about as she gushed about her encounter with the pretty electrokinetic next door. She was also so lost in thought that she didn't realise just how intently the ink manipulator was staring at her face.

When Lucy responded with a what, Sawyer huffed and pulled the gaming console out of Lucy's hand and put it on the floor as carefully as she possibly could, which was to say, in her drunken state, was not gently. "Oz, I kissed a girl who wasn't you and I fucken liked it." She squished Lucy's face as she said so, emphasising each sentence with a squeeze.

"I wanna kiss 'er again. She tasted like...strawberries. Dipped in cream. And I think she zapped me a coupla times but it just made me wanna kiss 'er more. Lu...I wanna kiss 'er again."

Lucy fought her very briefly for the little console, frowning hard when it was taken from her hands. Hands which still remained in the same place, curled as if still holding onto something important. She took a sharp breath when it was placed on the floor. And by placed, she was pretty sure she meant dropped. "Nooooo." She replied quietly, a small little whine for the loss of her distraction.

Not that it was doing a very good job.

Her eyebrows raised in concern when Sawyer said something about kissing a girl. She crinkled her nose when her face was squished in such a way. It was damn near impossible to hear what she was saying. Or at least, offer any kind of real clarity. Talking about kissing girls just made her miss the girl she used to share her bed with. Not the one with fucked up coloured hair. The one with with the adorable little dimples when she smiled.

Residing to her company with an audible sigh, Lucy dropped an arm around her waist and pulled her properly into her side. Might as well get comfortable in her proposed misery. "Then why'd you leave?"

Sawyer took little notice of Lucy's protest at the absence of her console as she buried her face in the pillow by her friend's side. In her drunken state, it was doubly hard for the voice mimic to even register that Lucy was uncharacteristically unresponsive to her remarks.

When she finally did get a response, Sawyer got comfortable, just as the ink manipulator adjusted them both. "Because she passed out." Sawyer pouted. "It weren't even my fault. I was just making out with her and things were gettin' pretty heavy and then she just conked out and now I'm lonely and I need you to pay attention to me." Her eyes were heavily lidded as she made Lucy her makeshift bolster with her one leg crossed over Lucy's while her arms crossed over the Australian's mid-section.

"She zapped me a coupla times and it was eeeeelectric."

Lucy furrowed her eyebrows at the notion that whoever the fuck it was she was talking about. Honestly, she had no real memory of Sawyer talking to a girl at all. She missed any reference her buddy had made to her roommate. Even when they were obvious.

The comparisons in Lucy's head were reeling.

When Penny fell asleep, she always pulled herself closer. She'd never leave her like that.

She momentarily grinned to herself, because Penny would never pass out before things were finished.

Lucy didn't really get what she meant by being zapped... But Penny never did that. And it was aaaalways eeeeelectric.

But Penny... Also wasn't talking to her. Ever again, maybe. Lucy pressed her lips into a hardened line, which faltered and became a frown pretty quickly. She was enjoying her winning comparison until that fact hit her senses.

"I'm not gonna finish you off, mate." She pointed out, and instantly her frown became a grin again as she erupted in a small burst of laughter. Her and Sawyer. Like that'd ever happen.

Eventually, that laughter dwindled in her drunken state, and she offered something more real. As real as a drunk Australian could get; "But please stay anyway."

Not used to Lucy being this quiet, Sawyer climbed on top of her friend, straddling her hips and cupping her cheeks, she leaned down and frowned. "What's up with you, you crazy grump?" She asked.

But when Lucy finally responded, Sawyer smiled and bit her lower lip in what she thought was a seductive gesture. "It's okay. You just did." She answered as her friend burst out in laughter. And because Lucy was laughing, it didn't take long for Sawyer to catch on. Soon enough, she was rolling off Lucy and consequently off the bed.

Still clutching her stomach on the floor, thankfully having avoided crashlanding on Lucy's console, Sawyer's laughter slowly died down just as Lucy told her to stay.

"Ain't goin' nowhere bub." She answered. "Mostly because I think the floor is hugging me."

Lucy literally turned her lip up at the question posed to her. She so clearly didn't want to answer it, and that was reiterated further with the audible groan she offered. "Nothin'." She shot out.

Of course, she glanced down in time to catch the way Sawyer bit her lip. For a moment, she considered the act within itself. Nope. It was just so much better when she did it.

Then suddenly - and how it happened, she still didn't know - Sawyer fell off the bed. Lucy rolled to the edge, half hanging off the bed itself as she watched her friend's laughter die down. She reached out and curled her fingers into her shirt, as if somehow she could manage to pull her up. But she couldn't. She failed. She just didn't let go.

For a second or so, Lucy glanced at the bag still sitting near the door. The one Penny had left. The one she had never picked up, and the ink manipulator had never touched. She couldn't.

"Sticking to the floor, bae?" Lucy asked, and within the next moment she was dragging herself off the bed. She shifted the little gameboy away further and huddled into Sawyer's side on the floor, drawling the blanket down and over them however it landed.

Completely oblivious to everything the ink manipulator was going through and thinking, Sawyer became more focused on letting the floor swallow her up, liking the feeling of being one with it.

She could feel the other girl's fingers curl into her shirt and she smiled at the small, seemingly insignificant gesture.

"Huh yeah." Sawyer grunted before making space for the ink manipulator, curling her leg almost immediately around Lucy's, her eyes drooping closed. "Augh why you so boney?" Sawyer mumbled into the crook of Lucy's neck as she slowly drifted in and out of consciousness.
