You Have Me All Aflutter (Gryph)

Kodi was totally dead to the world. Whatever had made him tired - the stress of Gryph getting hurt, their hot session after - had sure done its work, and he was not going to wake up easily. So even as Gryph came in and knelt before the blonde, even pressed his lips to Kodi's cheek, the dentokinetic barely stirred. He was too busy dreaming about birds and ice cream and all that mushy stuff he'd always done his very best to avoid...

It wasn't until a good portion of time after Gryphon had arrived that Kodi began to become aware again, shifting under the blanket that he didn't remember grabbing. "Mmm...?" he mumbled, eyes still closed as he fumbled drowsily with the edge of the fabric. He thought he heard the faint sound of birdsong, and finally squinted open his eyes, only to be met with the sight of Gryph perched near him, wherever Kodi was...

Oh, right. He was in his common room, on the couch. Where he'd collapsed after grabbing a bite to eat and... "Oh fuck!" he gasped, jolting awake as he quickly buried his face into the couch, hiding it from the older boy. "Dun lookat meeeeee," he mumbled in a sort of whine, holding his hands over the back of his head. He pulled the blanket over it a moment later, leaving his legs and boxer-clad butt unshielded against the lukewarm air in the room. "Are you still here?" came his muffled voice from under the fabric.

Gryphon turned his head sharply at the noise of Kodi murmuring, his singing dying off. He smiled, "Mornin'." He hadn't slept a wink since he woke up before but even with his fatigue, he was still capable of being happy and friendly.

Gryph jumped a little and chuckled when Kodi swore and hid his face, and again when he pulled the blanket up. He asked that question and Gryph smiled, "Yeah, I am." He replied; he eyed up the blonde boy's bare legs and his warm smile turned into a cheeky smirk. "So," he put out his left hand and began drawing imaginary patterns on Kodi's left foot and leg, and stroked the other one with the tips of his wing, seeing as his other arm was out of action. He wasn't certain what he was trying to gain by doing this, possible trying to calm Kodi down (because he didn't understand why he was fussing like this). He spoke up again, "What's the issue?"

It was odd, how he suddenly shielded his face. Trying to work it out by himself was difficult, it didn't make any sense to him... what did Kodi have to hide?

Kodi simply grunted at the greeting, too bleary to manage anything else. It wasn't that he wasn't happy to see Gryph - he really was, actually, and felt bad that he hadn't made it back to the boy's room - he was just... Fuuuzzy.

He twitched as he felt Gryph's fingers come into contact with his leg, biting his lip to hold back a ticklish giggle. No, no giggling, he was embarrassed! "Stoppitttt," he whined, kicking his legs as his shoulders shook with repressed mirth. The feathers tickled even more than his fingers did, and Kodi couldn't help it - he burst into giggles, flailing under the blanket but still keeping his face hidden. "Stooppp!!" he whined again, louder and with barely contained laughter.

When he finally calmed down enough to hear Gryph's question, he gave a growl and pulled the blanket tighter down over his head. "I ain't got anythin' on my face," he mumbled, feeling his cheeks heat up under the fabric. "I don't wantchu t'see my ugly mug without anythin' on." He nudged his foot back until it came into contact with Gryph's leg, and gave it a nudge. "Gettout so I can put my eyeliner on!"

Gryph wasn't gonna stop now that he'd started, besides, he wanted answers. He grinned widely, not slowing down or anything, "I'm not gooooonnnaaaa~" he replied, suppressing his own giggles from how much he was enjoying this. His laughter burst out when Kodi squirmed though - that was all too difficult to hide. "No!"

When he heard an answer, however, he slowly came to a halt. That... that was it? He didn't have any makeup on? And... why in the fuck did he think he was ugly? Kodi was far from it, in Gryph's eyes. He became more relaxed and pulled his wings behind him, getting up and kneeling by Kodi's face, even though it was covered by that fuzzy cloth, "I'm not goin' anywhere." He replied, softly.

"And," was it a good idea to admit this? Gryph decided it was, "I saw your face, earlier, while you were asleep." He spoke softly and calmly, fiddling single-handedly with the hem of his own shirt, "You could never be ugly." He was shocked even by his own words... but it wasn't a lie. Not by a long shot.

Kodi was not happy about this! Or... So he told himself. This childish giggling, the squirming, the mirth between them, it was so unlike him, he didn't know what to think. "You're so meeeean!" he whined anyway; he'd rolled around so much the blanket was now twisted and contorted around him, like a big fuzzy cocoon.

He felt the energy die down as he spoke, and he wished he could see the expression on Gryph's face, but he refused to lift his head from its hiding place. Still, he felt Gryphon get off the couch and come nearer to his hidden face, which only made him grip the fabric even tighter. "F... Fine," he mumbled. "Guess I'll just stay here then." With his legs cold and the blanket all twisted uncomfortably around him. Yeah.

However, at the next thing Gryph said, Kodi froze, unsure how to process this information. "You... You did?" he said quietly, hesitating. He supposed he should be bothered that Gryphon had been watching him sleep, but... He wasn't, for some reason. "I dunno how... You can say that," he mumbled, slowly relaxing his grip around the fabric. But, if it was the truth... Kodi slowly peeled the blanket back, revealing a sliver of his face at a time, until he had finally bared himself for Gryphon to see. He was curled back slightly, as though shying away, and couldn't meet the boy's eyes. "C... Can I go an' put it on now?" He felt extremely self-conscious being here like this.

Gryph couldn't even get a reply out, his laughter stole his words - seeing Kodi get himself so tangled up was pretty hilarious. And he always thought it was adorable when he acted like a little kid, so he smiled just that bit wider.

The winged boy hadn't had too many difficulties with self esteem and the like; of course, like everyone else, he felt self-concious from time to time, but it wasn't something regular or everyday. Just when he was felt particularly nervous. So he couldn't exactly... relate to what Kodi was feeling. Understand it, possibly, but he wasn't familiar with the feeling. His solidity to stay where he was made a small chuckle tumble out, "And so will I, in that case." He wasn't leaving until Kodi was happy again.

And one thing he wanted to leave planted in the dentokinetic's head was what he thought of him. "Mhmm." he replied, nodding slowly. Maybe being there the whole rest of the night was a bit... creepy. But it wasn't any different from when they fell asleep next to each other, it wasn't like he was a stalker or something. Gryphon tilted his head, "Maybe because it's the truth?" He suggested. Now that his words were floating in the air, he could do nothing but back them up. He was glad to see Kodi slowly revealing his face, his eyes never leaving the boy's, even if he wouldn't look back. He waited until the boy was fully up, and had asked the question, before sliding as close as he could, and reaching out with his hand, cupping the boy's jaw. He took in all of his features with discretion and smiled softly, leaning over and kissing him on the lips slowly and gently. He pulled away and smiled,

"You're beautiful."

Kodi wouldn't know why Gryph would feel self-conscious about himself at all - he was gorgeous, and no one could deny that, right? It still constantly amazed the southerner that Gryphon was interested in him at all. At the older boy's stubbornness, Kodi just grumbled again. Apparently it was a trait that both of them shared.

He did let out a dry chuckle as Gryph confirmed his question. "Hope I wasn't droolin', at least," he replied awkwardly, wishing he could get out of this situation easier. He snorted at what Gryphon said next, though. "The truth," he repeated, musing over how much flattery he should feel from this. He felt... A lot, even though he tried to brush it off. However, it didn't help make the reveal any easier, and Kodi waited nervously for Gryph's reaction. He didn't expect it - the touch on his jaw, as though Gryphon was drinking in all of the bared features that Kodi couldn't stand. He kept his eyes down, feeling the heat in his cheeks and wondering just how much blushing that Gryph could see.

He let out a small, surprised sound at the kiss, but quickly melted into it, letting his guard down for the time being. And once they broke apart, what... What Gryphon said... Kodi's heart, he could have sworn, skipped several times, and he froze, completely stiff and uncertain of what to do. He had finally met Gryphon's eyes, but now he was just... Stiff. "Oh... S-stoppit," he finally mumbled, swiping a soft hand at Gryphon's cheek. Internally, he was just dying. "You're the b... Beautiful one." He shifted backwards slightly, hoping to give Gryph some room on the couch. He wasn't... Quite so worried about hiding his face now. "C'mere an' make me warm again, pretty boy. I got cold from hidin'."

A person's appearance wasn't the most important part of a person, in Gryph's opinion. He'd rather be friends with someone who was average in looks but amazing in personality, over someone who was smoking hot but was a horrible person. In Kodi's case... he was interesting. As a person, he was sarcastic and silly and pretty spontaneous in his actions, and Gryph loved that. And he was fucking hot, which was an added bonus, really. But even if he was ugly, Gryphon would've liked him all the same.

That was one thing though - even though Gryph didn't have the quick wit or sharp thoughts to come up with compliments at a moment's notice, when he had time to devise something, it felt more... personal. Heart-felt. In a sense, when he did say such things, it was always stronger in sentiment than if he said it every two minutes.

He tracked Kodi's reactions, being at such a close distance made that a simple task. The winged boy wished Kodi would look up, so he could see into his eyes with his own dark brown ones. Seeing the redness in the dentokinetic's cheeks made a fizz of warmness stir in his chest. For someone who acted so tough, he could be really cute and it made Gryphon melt. Just like he was doing into that kiss, trying to show what he felt through his actions. He had to hold back a giggle at the noise Kodi had made though, it was extremely hard to resist.

There was a moment of panic in Gryph's mind when the blonde boy seemed to tense up a little. He took in the boy's orbs, trying to give him comfort without words. Maybe he was coming on a little too strong? It was a pretty bold statement to make, but why tone it down or lie? The stuttering brought back his confidence, in a way. It could've just been the shock of it all... Gryph was shocking himself, so he wouldn't be surprised. He grinned and looked at the ground for a moment, before returning his eyes to Kodi, "We can be beautiful together." he announced. But he was definitely more glad that Kodi seemed more comfortable now.

He studied the space on the couch... him, plus his injury would make it very awkward for him to get up and stay up without hurting himself or Kodi in the process. Gryph chuckled, "Y'gonna have t'help me outta bit." He told him, getting up and perching on the edge of the couch, before swivelling around and attempting to lie down. Whether he stayed up or not was kind of in Kodi's hands, seeing as he himself was one arm down.

This was all so new and unexpected for Kodi, he hardly knew how to react. Only Oriel had recently seen him without his precious eyeliner on, and that had been because Kodi had been sick out of his mind and drugged up on flu meds. The fact that Gryphon could not only look at Kodi while he was like this, but also kiss him and call him beautiful... It was overwhelming.

"That... Has t'be one of the cheesiest things I've ever heard," he finally replied, his usually snarkiness peeking out. He gave a small grin, toying with a strand of Gryphon's hair. Cheesy as it was, it made Kodi feel a little more normal again (or at least, as normal as he could feel around the winged boy).

He smushed himself as far back against the back of the couch as he could manage, trying to give Gryphon enough room to settle down. It was a fairly wide couch, at least; they should be able to manage. "Yeah... Yeah, of course," Kodi mumbled, raising an arm as Gryph settled down beside him. Once there, the southern boy wrapped his arm snugly over the boy, tossing the blanket back over the top of them as he nuzzled against Gryph's chest, effectively stealing his body heat. "Mmmm... This's good," he murmured, shutting his eyes again. It was still early in the morning, maybe they could catch a few more winks out here like this. Kodi... Didn't even care if his roommates saw. What did he have to hide? "I'm gonna just... Sleep a little more..." His voice fell into a mumble before he passed out again, arm still wrapped around Gryphon.

There were more words than just 'beautiful' that Gryph could use to describe Kodi, but... he didn't want them to start falling out of his mouth like a waterfall.

He chuckled, only just realizing how stupid he had sounded. "Whatever." He replied, smirking. He gave the boy a small joking scowl and left the cheese behind - ugh, this... was Kodi's fault. Hey, Kodi blamed Gryph for half of the stuff that happened to him, why couldn't Gryph blame Kodi?

This was like human Tetris but he eventually shuffled into place, up close and personal with Kodi now. He adjusted his injured arm in front of him, its strong ache becoming more and more evident. "Mmm." Gryphon agreed. He noticed how out in the open they were... they weren't being vulgar or anything. And his roommates could easily enough avert their eyes. "Alright." He mumbled back, sinking more into the couch. He probably wouldn't sleep much, if at all, but he loved being like this, with Kodi.
