Oliver shook his head a little at Mathis' antics, chuckling. He wouldn't be him without it, though. It wasn't easy to draw a laugh, even a small one, out of the introverted boy, who often got stuck in his own thoughts. Then again, this was just a game meant for fun between him and his friend.

Following Mathis' lead, Oliver waited patiently, even as he collapsed onto the ground with short breaths. His eyebrows narrowed with concern, before remembering his friend's power and how adrenaline could sometimes trigger a response. He chuckled. "No worries. Take your time." Oliver remembered when his ability had been out of control. "Don't want to ruin the game before it's even started."

Mathis prided himself on being one of the people who could draw even the shyest person out of their shell. Be it by simply being his usual excited, hyper self or by toning it down and becoming a friend for the other person. One who wasn't liable to have a heart attack from their own over excitement. So he wasn't really shocked -at all- whenever Oliver would laugh when they hang out.

Any other day Mathis might have done a little dance just to produce another laugh, but while he busy trying to make sure his power hadn't suddenly activated. "Dunno what's gotten into it. Ain't had problems like this before and this year it seems all I can do is run inta walls and breaks basketballs. I dunno what I'm gunna do for basketball games, 'cause there's no way I can play like this." His tone was slightly upset as he reached his conclusion, since Matty really like when the 'team' all got together to play.
