The BasicsName: Axelle Mae Flint
Nicknames: Axe, Axie, Xi, Flint
Age: 18
Orientation: Heterosexual
Desired Rank/Job: Student
Powers: Super Strength/Durability
Axelle is “lift a car over her head without breaking a sweat” strong, she’s also “did you just try to staple your chest on purpose to make a point?” durable. There’s nothing subtle about Axelle or her powers. She’s strong, she doesn’t get hurt easily.
However, her joints often bother her when it’s humid and cold and she must concentrate twice as hard on tasks that requires any type of dexterity or flexibility. Her main job in the garage is demolition for this very reason. She’s heavy footed and trips/hits/runs into just about everything. She’s always hungry because fueling her powers requires a lot of energy. Another large drawback to her power is the amount of time she needs to sleep; spending an entire day on demolition work usually results in twelve (plus) hours of sleep. If she does manage to injure herself it takes twice as long for her body to mend.

Eye Color: Hazel
Any Piercings? Ears - twice
Any Tattoos? none (yet)
Any Scars? Burn scar on her right leg from being pressed against a hot tail pipe when she was ten
General Appearance: Axelle stands at a below average 5 foot and no inches which means that she often has to look up at whoever she’s speaking to. It also means that she needs a stool to get most things done for herself, especially in the garage because her father stands at a barbaric foot and three inches taller than her. She’s slender but lean with muscles that stand out when she’s exerting herself, with only a small bust to speak of. Her hair is a natural strawberry blonde color, however she bleaches and dyes it so often that it’s almost always the same shade or variation of red/orange which she feels suits her personality more.
She tends to wear clothing she deems comfortable that is in at least some way a bit shabby looking. Her family isn’t particularly wealthy and many of her things are second hand or have been mended several times. This doesn’t seem to bother her as she’s been able to stay relatively aware of fashion trends and more or less fits in with her peers at school in terms of clothing. It’s not necessarily her wish to stand out as a fashion maven however so she pays very little attention to her appearance other than making sure that nothing clashes horribly or that she doesn’t look like she crawled out of an alleyway after a bar fight. She holds herself confidently but has terrible posture most of the time.
Personality: More than anything else, Axelle Mae Flint is a good girl. She listens to her guardians and teachers, does her homework and applies herself as much as possible in her personal projects and friendships. She hardly ever brags and never displays a false sense of modesty. She knows where her strengths and weaknesses lie but her competitive nature usually requires her to try and overcome her weaknesses several times before defeat is accepted. She’s known for being adventurous and has big goals she wants to accomplish within certain time frames. She’s ambitious in the terms of wishing to succeed within the parameters she’s set for herself (which are often harsh and grueling) and her father and grandfather constantly reassure her that she doesn’t in fact have to run herself into the ground to make a point.
Axelle can’t help it though, she has a straightforward, “go big or go home” type personality. Everything she does has to be done with 100% of herself. This is, unfortunately where many of her flaws originate. She’s been described as impatient, rash, clumsy and “fast”, adults and more mature classmates are constantly telling her to slow down, but she just can’t seem to. She often grows frustrated with things that require a lot of her attention or skill and over the years has had to school herself into sitting still enough to get things done and not break them in the process. Due to her general inability to do anything delicate (physically or otherwise) she’s often tactless and blunt when it comes to speaking with others. She doesn’t put up with a lot of dramatic nonsense and has a difficult time appearing sympathetic to certain issues her friends are having. This often means that her advice, though meant with the best intentions is often harsh and overly simple for the problem at hand.
Known to be loud and obnoxious most of the time, Axelle’s sense of humor is more geared towards sarcasm and pranks…or the more than occasional terrible pun. She’s usually smiling or making a variety of faces during a conversation. She’s clever, some might even say witty, which is helpful when she’s telling bad jokes. She has a difficult time being secretive or underhanded. Any problem she perceives with a person is met head on and taken from there. She’s also really terrible keeping things to herself, they almost always end up blurted out at some point because she is just so very terrible at being quiet. She finds it particularly difficult to keep birthday and Christmas presents a secret from her friends and family members to and she dies a little inside every day she manages not to tell them what she’s hiding. Because she’s so straightforward about almost everything in her life she tends to assume that others should also be that way. She doesn’t like it when people beat around the bush or try and spare her feelings. She’d rather know the facts of the matter and go from there.
Axelle enjoys working with her hands and being around nature. She likes, essentially, getting dirty. She struggles with anything particularly abstract or symbolic which means that the classes she struggles in the most are usually reliant on her ability to look at the “bigger picture” rather than something right in front of her. She’s stubbornly insistent that not everything needs an alternative meaning and often gets into long, heated arguments with others over the idea that sometimes blue curtains in a literary writing might just in fact be blue. She enjoys sports immensely and plays soccer in the fall and spring. She finds it’s a great way to control her power while at the same time not necessarily needing to hold back because of the amount of skill involved in getting a ball down the field. Not that she’s very good at it; she usually ends up tripping over her own feet or not being able to stop in time before she plows someone over. Still, she enjoys being active like all the other students. Another obsession is yo-yo tricks, she spends a ridiculous amount of time flinging around a yo-yo in her attempt to learn a new trick. She almost always has one on her and during long conversations can be seen using it as a way to keep herself busy so that she can focus on the conversation at hand.

Secret: Axelle is terrible at keeping secretsFamily TiesBiological Father: unknown
Step-Father: Christopher “Crush” Flint (Powered – Metal Manipulation)
Mother: Gloria Flint nee Richards (deceased)
Half-Siblings: Unknown
Any Other Important People:Fenton Flint – Grandfather (Powered – Alchemy)HistoryAxelle was born screaming her lungs out and didn’t stop until Christopher Flint held her in his arms for the first time and sang to her. The two were immediately inseparable after that. It didn’t matter to Christopher that Axelle wasn’t his daughter, he’d married Gloria Richards because he loved her and he wanted to take care of her and her accidental baby. Gloria however had other goals in life and motherhood was not among them. She was obsessed with the idea of being a famous actress and convinced Christopher to shelve his (at the time) reachable dream of being a musician so that she might pursue acting while he worked and took care of Axelle.
Gloria missed all the important moments of Axelle’s young life. The baby began talking at nine months, her first words being “Papa” and “kitty”, she crawled a few months later for two weeks before pulling herself upright and wobbling her way over to her Papa. Christopher at this point was working full time and overtime at a garage to make ends meet but was never too tired to play with Axelle or sing to her. Music is a large part of her life thanks to Christopher’s instance that singing was just as important as talking. As money grew tighter, Christopher and Gloria began to argue and the younger man tried to reason with his headstrong wife that perhaps it was time to stop trying to be famous and get a real job so that they could move out of their tiny apartment and try and buy a house. Gloria would have none of it. She informed Christopher in no uncertain terms that she was leaving. Apparently her “networking” had paid off and she had met a man who would help make her famous. Together the two were leaving for California. Without another word to the distraught husband she was leaving behind, Gloria left for California and never looked back.
Christopher had always been a father first and foremost. Once Gloria walked out of his life he knew that he had a responsibility to provide for his now two-year-old daughter. Axelle was clever and a handful, he wouldn’t be able to continue working so many hours without dropping some serious money on a babysitter and his lack of a college education meant that he had little in the way of options that included upward mobility. To that end he sucked up his pride and contacted his previously estranged father Fenton Flint. A month later, father and son were meeting again while Axelle was introduced for the first time. The Flint family had moved from their tiny apartment in Vermont’s capitol back to Pilot Ridge where three generations of Flint’s had grown up.
As Christopher worked in his father’s garage and saved up money to hire a discounted lawyer in anticipation of Gloria’s incoming divorce papers, Axelle got to know her new grandfather. She found the elder Flint to be the perfect shelf for her things and seemed to enjoy stacking various books, dolls and other toys into his lap while the man silently sat and stared at her. Axelle really enjoyed this about the older Flint. She loved her Papa because he was silly and loud but she found she loved “Poppy” because he was the exact opposite. It was also because Poppy showed her something that Papa had never showed her before. Both Fenton and Christopher were meta humans with an Alchemic ability. Eventually Christopher relented to his father’s prodding and also showed his power off to his very interested daughter who was QUITE distressed that she could not do this strange, wondrous thing.
As Axelle grew older the abilities of her father and grandfather became common place and she turned to more important matters of a young child’s life. She stayed outside, got dirty, and caught frogs and other bits of wild life whenever she could. She was allowed in the mechanics shop the family ran only if both Papa and Poppy were there and paid close attention to when either man would teach her how to fix something in a car, and she never asked where Gloria was. When she was six however a phone call came late one night as the family was preparing to go to bed. She managed to catch a glimpse of her father crying before her grandfather ushered her to bed and a long day made her soon fall asleep before she could try and reason out why her Papa was so upset. The next day Christopher sat Axelle down and calmly explained to her that her mother had died in California and that he needed to go and see to funeral arrangements. Despite a finalized divorce years earlier, Gloria had never changed her contact information and as a final farewell to the woman who’d given him a daughter he loved dearly, Christopher went to California for several days to organize and attend Gloria’s funeral.
When he came back, life resumed as normal and Axelle continued to grow at that alarming rate all children seem to grow at. She liked school and made several friends that loved to run around outside like her and enjoy the sunshine while it lasted. They got dirty, played with toys, colored pictures and had adventures in various backyards around town. When Axelle was ten she noticed that one of the older children she had played with often in the last few years had suddenly switched schools. This upset her but she never associated it with anything more than her friend changing schools for some strange reason (adults were probably involved). As she got older she noticed at least two students in the grades below her also changing schools at odd times in the year. When she was thirteen, she found out why.
It never occurred to Christopher or Fenton that Axelle might be a meta-human. Gloria hadn’t been and Christopher did his damnedest not to think about Axelle’s biological father. Over the years the young girl had displayed an alarming amount of clumsiness, to the point where she was confined to a specific stool in the garage and wasn’t allowed to work on anything unless one or both of her guardians was present. This rubbed her all sorts of unfair when she was a teenager and seething with inner, hormonally driven angst. Though she desperately wanted to follow their rules, she couldn’t help but press the issue as much as possible by standing on the stool, circling the stool or standing a specific amount of inches away from the stool. One day, as she was testing her limits and her grandfather’s patience in the crowded space, Axelle tripped over her loosened shoelace and knocked into an elevated truck that was waiting for a part.
It should have fallen over and injured her taken-by-surprise father. What actually happened was Axelle desperately yanking at the car to right it (it would have been futile) and lifting it several feet off the ground as it flipped and she supported most of the weight against her chest, the same way one might support a tall stack of books. She was too weak at the time to lift it over her head but she was certainly strong enough to hold it effortlessly high enough for her father to get clear before she righted it and set it back onto the ground. This might have been written off as adrenaline, or the heat playing with one’s eyes had Axelle not been below her eventual final height and skinny as a new born colt.
Despite many wide mouth stares and pointing, Fenton and Christopher closed the garage, packed Axelle up into the family car, and took her to the hospital to get checked. Neither guardian was expecting their girl to be strong….neither were they expecting the needle the doctor was going to use to take a blood sample to break off against her skin. Thanks to the small town Pilot Ridge grapevine, it wasn’t an hour later when a recruiter from Hammel arrived to assess the situation. Axelle had developed the dual powers of inhuman strength and high durability. Extreme pressure had to be applied in order to obtain her blood sample and she bore a scab for months as it sluggishly healed. She was transferred out of her middle school the next day and found herself in front of a group of new faces the day after that. It was enough to make her head spin.
She made new friends easily but discovered that her power hadn’t finished developing. By the time school let out for the summer that year she was easily lifting cars over her head and just as easily tossing the aside as if they were bits of trash. Most of her training sessions focus specifically on controlling her strength so that she doesn’t accidently send someone flying. To that end she was introduced to yo-yo’s. As a way to also hopefully improve her disastrous coordination, the yo-yo forced her to control her strength, lest she break the string and potentially injured someone. Axelle is terrified of hurting someone. Ever since her ability developed she’s avoided hugging her father or her grandfather because she might forget herself and hurt them. It distresses her greatly as she’s always been quite tactile. Another large worry is the possibility of intimate relations with a member of the opposite sex. She’s currently not dating anyone but the possibility is always there and dating might eventually lead to sex and if…at some point in the heat of the moment she didn’t control herself…she shudders and panics before the what-if scenario finishes.
Once, after confiding in these issues to a friend, the idea of bondage was brought up. Axelle staunchly refused. She hated the idea of being restrained because she often associated it with how monsters or people who are dangerous are dealt with. More than anything Axelle does not want to be labeled as a “danger” to anyone. She strives to do her best when controlling her power and avoids situations where it might be difficult. She refuses to handle small children or do anything that involves potentially physically coming into contact with the elderly. In order to release the stress in her life from constantly holding back, she hits around a sandbag that was specially designed for those of superior strength. She also sings.
Recently her father has been more active in pursuing his old dream of being a singer and Axelle encourages it as much as possible. She wants her father to be happy and to have a life now that she’s older and trying to make one of her own. She knows she’s not entirely college material so her goals after school involve attending a trade school to round out the mechanically based education her grandfather was already giving her. She also wants to get at least a two-year degree in business management so that eventually she can inherit her grandfather’s garage and make it more profitable. As of right now they make enough money to lead a comfortable life, but there isn’t much left over for any luxuries.Roleplay ExamplePlease see Remle Boyd. What About You?Name: Rae
