Why was he here again?

So...the idea that Kailin had about a week or so back to get Zach "out" more often? This was apparently the result of one of her magnificent plans! Zach said he wouldn't complain, that he'd do whatever his little sister asked(or forced) of him, so that's why he didn't leave within the first five minutes of this...salsa dance lesson?

This was a bad idea.

Zach not only didn't know how to dance(though that's what the lessons were for) but he was entirely out of his element and uncomfortable in this place, not knowing a single person and practically clinging to a wall while he tried to avoid any level of social interaction, eaving Zach alone to make a fool of himself in a pair of his old skinny jeans which surprisingly still fit. How about that?

That small victory did nothing to make him feel better about the situation though. Oh, well. The lessons were paid for, Zach may as well finish the lesson and take a cab home before the night crowd sucked him into madness. He sighed as they were calling the group up to go for another round(he didn't completely hate the lessons) and stood...exactly when the entire room went dark. Like pitch black. A lack of windows would do that...

Zach didn't move.

Gabe didn't always get an afternoon off, but it was one of those rare occasions he was able to get out of meetings and tutoring after his morning classes, so he had decided to take a stroll down town - taking the long way home. The weather had been nice recently, enticing the man to walk to work instead of drive, and he did not regret it on a day as lovely as this.

As he was walking, though, a sound caught his ear and his attention, drawing him into a crowded, small room full of lively music and dancing - some much better than others. It was one of those open houses for dance lessons, salsa to be precise. Though Gabe knew nothing about the dancing in particular, he knew plenty about the music, and before he even stepped foot in the room he was swaying side to side, completely enticed.

He kept himself off to the side, mostly because he was just there for a moment, listening, chuckling occasionally at coordination-deficient participants. But he also didn't want to get in the way, as he was carrying not only a messenger bag full of quizzes to be graded, but also his guitar. And just as he was about to find his way back out to the streets, the lights went out, and the nearly windowless room became dark, and silent. Gabe stopped moving, suddenly unaware of which way was out, and confused in general by the sudden lack of sight and sound.

It was just a free-day for the girl who had upcoming graduation and a day off from her two different jobs. There were few days where she just needed to be cooped up in her apartment, and this was not that day; instead Sienna decided, since she very much missed the culture in general, she would head out to the Salsa club down in the downtown district for some fun and decent conversation. Surely there would be some people that could help her use her spanish-speaking abilities. The redhead hadn't been using it, and sure enough, she was losing her ability to speak the language. Her parents had already reverted back to only speaking to her in the language, as per her request.

The music was lively, and the people were even more interesting -especially with their hips moving the way they did- and Sienna found herself moving along to the music, even reaching a point where she was pulled into a group of other women. It was amazing. So when the lights went out, and the screams started, she couldn't figure out what the hell had even happened.

There were statements exclaimed in both English and in Spanish, asking what had happened, and then groans of disappointment when people realized the lights weren't coming back on.

Wonderful.

She looked around, trying to pick through the crowd and accidentally tripped over someone -in pitch black dark, how could she not?- falling against the chest of a man whom she didn't know.

"Mierda! I mean, I'm so sorry." She apologized, noting that the man with long dark hair and eyes in front of her looked probably just as uncomfortable, if not more, than her at that very moment. She straightened herself, quickly. "Are you okay?"

Soooooooooooooooo…..it was dark.

It was dark and immediately Zach heard a conglomeration of various voices shouting out in their sudden confusion. They didn’t click back on instantly, like the lights did sometimes during a thunderstorm. But there clearly wasn’t a thunderstorm going on outside. Which meant…what? There was something going wrong with the circuit breakers? That sounded like a possibility.

Zach decided to take this as a good excuse to leave. After all, if the music and lights didn’t work, then they couldn’t continue with the dancing, right? Zach stepped forward a bit, taking each one carefully…but apparently being careful meant nothing, because no sooner did he take a step, did he somehow run into another person that had somehow appeared before him between the short time from when the lights were on to when they were off.

“Ah!” he yelped. “No, I’m…I’m sorry, I wasn’t watching…” Zach stopped as soon as he realized exactly how stupid that sentence was going to come out as. Of course he wasn’t watching where he was going, he couldn’t see. “I’m…fine,” he breathed in a soft, gentle voice. “Sorry…” he said again with an obvious awkwardness in his voice. Zach was kind of holding the girl…woman…in a kind-of-not-touching-but-being-careful-and-attentive manner. “Are….are you okay?” he asked.

Sienna was very much aware of the man who was holding her, but was glad that he wasn't gripping her as hard as some men probably would have. While Sienna wasn't a stranger to being manhandled, and could handle herself relatively well, she found it nice to know there were some gentle people in this bar.

"Yeah," The redhead breathed in response, cautious to pull herself back. Her senses were heightened at the lack of her sight, and so his voice was very clear in her ears, something that had almost startled her.

"So do you have any idea what is going on? I've never seen it blackout unless there was a storm!" She almost had to shout then because the cries of protest and confusion grew louder when someone attempted to calm the crowd.
