Almost human. [Penelope]

It was time to surprise Karalie. And this time without caffeine in his system. He thought back on the events of a few days earlier and how he'd pretty much gone back to the olden days of being a dick with caffeine in his system. He was trying to get to Karalie that day as well, but was prevented from doing so. So what he was doing today was pretty much just a do-over.

He passed the vending machine as he entered the girls dorms, slightly grinning at the fact it technically wasn't allowed for a boy to set foot in these parts -oh how the rule breaking days were behind him, so far behind that he'd in fact caught himself scouring the area for anyone that could see him. He halted momentarily in front of the vending machine and angrily glanced at the cans of mountain dew and raised his middle finger.

As he continued on he put a hand in one of his pockets to make sure the hickies were still with him. He'd realized the utter hell that Karalie had to endure with touching stuff and all, and figured that he could at least help in one way, albeit small.

Luke had reached Karalie's room and instead of knocking just barged in; he was there for Karalie and everyone else could suck it. Girls dorm. Literally suck it. One of he roommates was cleaning the oh so cleanable room as she told Lucas not to enter just yet. He nodded lightly and just said he was just there for Karalie, maybe just drop something off, maybe something else. Maybe something a bit more fun than just sitting there watching women clean. Not that he couldn't spend hours watching women.

He quickly realized that with the way he barged in Karalie would have at least peeked out to see what was going on, so Luke sprung to the conclusion that she wasn't there at the moment. So far for the surprise.

Still standing on the doorstep he addressed P-penel-whatever her name was. Karalie mentioned her but the only thing he had retained from it was that she was gay.

''Yo! Blue balls! Any idea when Karalie is coming back? I have something for her.''
From his position in the door opening he threw the box of hickies on the couch.

It wasn’t an uncommon sight to see Penelope Blaise cleaning the dormitory common room. Compared to the average student, she had a much higher standard of living. So while her Australian counterpart was at work, the psychometrist took to scrubbing everything she could.

She went through every crack and corner the common room had, meticulously making sure every inch was absolutely sanitary.

It took time, yes, but without Lucy Serrano there, Penelope found that she had quite a bit of it and needed to keep busy. This certainly did the trick and made the common room livable again.

As someone barged through the door, Penelope glanced in the direction of the intruder. It didn’t seem like of her roommates to do such a thing, and to her surprise she found a boy in the door frame. Her lips pursed into a hardened line; why was there a boy in a strictly female dormitory? The thought irked her, but she assumed he was there for a reason, and that reason not being her.

But before she could ask, he threw a small package on the couch, announcing why he was there. Putting her spray bottle down, Penelope turned to the boy with an unreadable expression. “No,” she answered, seemingly unfazed by his demeanor. “You’re not allowed in here.”

''So..'' Luke murmured as the girl acknowledged him. Was it a stalemate? It seemed like one? Weren't stalemates more.. violent, though? His eyes scanned over the girl. P-pe.. Luke sighed internally as he swore he'd get her name right before she had to say it herself. But then again, why would he memorize, or try to memorize the name of someone who addressed him with you?

The words she said were extremely logical, even to the most senseless people around such as Luke, but they did have the tendency to make you look a bit.. not human. Karalie had said this. The gay one was a bit too logical. The boy snickered. Gay one. His jokes always cracked him up, even when he failed to say them out loud.

Luke raised a single eyebrow and set foot in the room, plopping himself down on the couch as a sort of rebellious act. ''Not allowed.. Hmm.'' He picked up the package of hickies beside him and threw them up in the air before catching them again with ease. ''Well, this is a predicament.''

He kicked off his shoes (neatly) and put them side by side at the edge of the couch as he laid back and throwing the package in the air again. ''Technically being allowed or not is an issue of not getting caught. And I don't think you're gonna tell on me.''

''Or you might, I don't know. Your life.''
He caught the hickies again.

''I'm just gonna stay here and wait for my girlfriend.''

Technically. He was speaking to a girl who, in so many ways, lived by technicalities. Rules were set in place with intention. It didn’t matter how carefully he took his shoes off or how neatly he placed them by the couch, such details didn’t matter to a person that didn’t look.

Why did so many people doubt that a dorm monitor would be called? Penelope doubted she was the only person that used the service. They were there for a reason, if they weren’t around doing their job already, Penelope wasn’t afraid to call and make sure that they would.

Her phone, however, was in her bedroom. Unlike the average teen, the psychometrist didn’t have it glued to her hip. Really, she could live without it most of the time.

“You can wait for your girlfriend in your own dormitory.” She stated firmly. With precise steps, the psychometrist walked to her room, quickly wrapping her fingers around the phone at her desk. She paused, barley a break in her trajectory for a half second. It was more than enough time to vividly see her Australian counterpart change her own name in the Brit’s contact book. Again. Feel the grin she wore. Within the next moment, she was back in her dormitory, clutching her phone, again as Penelope Blaise. However, a grin that clearly belonged to Lucy Serrano still played about her lips.

As she exited her room, it was gone, expression quickly reverting back to its neutral state as she held the phone up. “I will call.”

P-pen-pele-penelolo.. Karalies roommate was beginning to sound like a real bitch to Luke. Just standing there, no doubt mulling over benign little rules that Luke figured could go die in a fire. But sadly he knew there was indeed a reason behind rules and that someone had to enforce them to keep something akin to order in the world. Though he was sure that if he was in the boys dorm he wouldn't mind a random girl barging in.

But he wasn't random. He was sure he knew this girl and she knew him. Knowing in the sense of maybe having seen each other once or twice. So, while Luke kind of agreed he shouldn't technically be in the girls dorm he couldn't help but think this girl knew what he was there for even before he said anything. So why couldn't she give him a break? He was trying to be a nice? Or did this broad have a stick so far up her ass that she needed to enforce every little rule?

Luke disliked people who lived by every possible rule and were way too serious about everything and had the tendency to show it despite his very negative self. ''Listen, missy.'' He began as he turned his head, and his gaze toward the girl. ''You are not going to call, you and I both know that. Because from what I hear from Karalie.. Well.. let's just say she puts up with your girlfriend.''

By then, Penelope had figured out who the boy was – Karalie’s boyfriend. He announced such information himself only moments before. Had the Brit bothered to pay attention to her roommates’ lives in any capacity, she likely would have known within the first few days Karalie moved in. Such details were useless to Penelope – why bother paying attention to someone she didn’t care about?

Regardless of who he was in relation to anyone in the dormitory, he didn’t belong there. Rules were meant to be enforced, and she lived in the girl’s dormitory for a reason. Any amount of testosterone was not appreciated or welcomed.

This boy didn’t seem to understand that. Even as his gaze fell on her, she remained composed, phone in hand as she looked at him – specifically how he wasn’t moving. Finally, she offered the slightest expression; a slight raise of her eyebrows as he seemingly tried to blackmail her. She didn’t look irritated or even intrigued by it, but rather, almost bored.

“This is a female only floor.” She explained, wondering why she even had to do so. “She is female, whereas you are not.” The Brit ran her thumb along the glass of her phone, unlocking it. “Or is two genders a bit further than you can count?” She quickly brought up the dorm monitor in her speed dial, pressing call as she placed the phone to her ear.

This chick ould be fun to hang out with, Luke assumed, if only she wasn't such a rigid bitch. He began to slowly wonder what her girlfriend saw in her. The boy placed his bets on money. That had to be it.

He let out a sigh and enveloped his fingers around the box of hickies. He got up, flipped the girl off and left his middle finger in the position she could see. It wasn't all that much Luke was truly ticked off, but somehow she managed to do just that. Luckily for her violence was out of the question, and even more on the lucky said for her; another notch against him was a big no-no. He tried his best to maintain a grin on his face because she didn't have to know she'd won, right? The boy put on his shoes and dragged them over the floor as he moved towards Karalies door, he yanked it open and tossed the hickies inside. He'd send her a message later.

He closed the door and turned around, looking over to the roommate on the phone who had, as far as the boy could tell, not seen the middle finger pointed at her. Luke sighed and scuffled over to her, slapping the phone out of her hand, or trying to. ''You win, fine.'' He said as he went for the door out.

''Talk to me when that surgery finally takes, will ya?''
He mimed talking on a phone.
''Doctor, please. This girl. She has the case of. Stickupherass-itis.''

Penelope had, in fact, seen the middle finger that was flashed to her, but she refused to give a response to it. Like so many people, it seemed like that was what this boy was striving for. And he would be denied. It seemed that he was far easier to annoy than Penelope herself. She kept her phone pressed to her ear as he threw whatever it was he had into Karalie’s dorm. She wasn’t purposefully trying to make him angry, but simply get him out of the dormitory; if he got angry in the process, the Brit deemed that it was his own fault.

When he stepped closer to her, Penelope stepped back. Few could successfully get within such proximity of the psychometrist without her doing something about it. But as she backed away, he felt his hand connect with her arm, forcing the phone a small distance from her ear.

The fact that he was trying to get her off the phone hadn’t bothered her, but rather that he touched her at all. Still, she simply put the phone back to her ear until she realized that he as indeed, leaving. “It has nothing to do with winning or losing.” She stated factually. Because, really, he hadn’t been following the rules, and now he was. It was wasn’t losing a battle, simply doing what was right.

Finally, she offered something of a reaction to the boy, a simple twitch of her eyebrows upward. For a moment, she had to resist the urge to smile – or quite even possibly laugh, something or a rarity for the Brit. That particular saying to describe Penelope’s uptight behavior had been used far too many times for it to phase her at this point. He’d have to do better than that.
