Wow. Alex had to admit, Corbin was something else. No wonder he was best friends with Jason. He had to admit, he didn't have a whole lot of faith in his generation, not to mention the one behind him. There was a lot of immaturity and things he didn't subscribe to in the slightest, but it appeared that Corbin wasn't like that either. Smiling, he shook his head. "You're definitely one of the good guys, Corbin. Thank you." Who knew? Maybe he'd end up with a new friend out of the deal. It would be a good end to a fairly terrible day. It was a good thing Ann wasn't waiting for him or anything. It wouldn't have been fun to explain to his fiancee that his car broke and that he was late for a date. It was only his roommate he'd have to explain to, who would probably just cheer him up with cartoons and breakfast for dinner, or something equally childish and therefore awesome. Alex was mature 95% of the time, but sometimes it felt good to be a kid about things again.

The request for him to play spotter was met with an easy yes. After all Corbin had done for him, the least he could do was to help him get into the lot. It certainly wasn't easy. Every time they cleared one thing, something else became a problem. Alex's heart was quickly sinking over the fact that this wasn't working, and that he was causing more grief than originally anticipated. Hopefully someone was at the shop and willing to lend a hand, or had another idea, because they were currently going nowhere, fast.

Technically the shop was closed today. Her father and grandfather had gone out of town to pick something up and that meant that Axelle was alone. She had decided to use the time to work on her own car but had overestimated the time she needed to work. She finished early and set about fixing a few of the things that had been lying around the shop, including the heater that her family would be using in the shop when winter came along. She had been carefully reassembling it when the rumble of a truck caught her attention. It sounded big but she quickly shrugged it off, thinking it would be out of the neighborhood soon.

But it wasn't.

Finally, irritated at the amount of noise that was echoing through her family's property she hopped to her feet and nudged the garage door up with her foot and walked out in time to see a familiar looking man approaching the shop door. "Shop's closed..." she leaned over to look at his rig and the other man playing spotter. "I'm going to take a wild guess that the beast blocking my driveway is yours?" she asked with a raised eyebrow. Crap she did know this guy, he was from the park that time she went with Koty.

The one that had caught her...

She forced her eyes back to the rig as she wiped her hands on her already stained and ripped jeans before tugging at one of the holes near the bottom of her hips. She wasn’t licensed yet but she could take the car in and take a look. It wasn’t on a traditional tow-truck so the situation was a bit strange. “Listen, I’m not licensed yet but I’m pretty good with cars, my dad and grandpa run this shop. If it’s an emergency I can take a look and see if there’s anything I can do but you know…disclaimers and all that,” she added as she pushed her already folded sleeves up over her elbows. The rig was bothering her.

“Shit that thing is huge, okay. Can you like, put the car down a bit? I can just bring it over,” she told him, knowing that she could either wheelbarrow the car into the drive or push it like you would if your engine died. Either way the rig couldn’t back into the driveway and they had to move it somewhere else before someone came along and started complaining.

Corbin had almost made it to the door when he was temporarily blinded by red hair and sass... After a moment of surprise, he blinked and a huge grin spread slowly across his features. This chick. The one from the park. The one he'd caught. Holy hell did she look good in shop clothes. Like.. so good that he actually just stared at her as she looked around and gave her little speech about disclaimers. So much confidence.. but something else, too. Like, she knew full and well that she could almost definitely figure out what was up with the car.. Ah, it was probably just because he was blocking two lanes of traffic and giving her shop negative publicity..

"I, uh.. Y-yeah! I mean, duh.. why didn't I think of that? Push it.. Hah. Yeah.. Feelin a bit dumb....." And a tiny part of Corbin died. Here he hadn't seen this girl in who-knew-how-long and his second impression on her is that of somebody who not only just shows up on days when places are closed and expects shit, but also wasn't smart enough to just PUSH THE DAMNED CAR INTO THE LOT.

He turned quickly and jogged a few steps back toward his truck before smacking his palm firmly across his forehead.. feeling like a complete failure. How did one recover enough from THAT to actually ask this girl anything or make any kind of small talk whatsoever? Gah. Whatever. He hopped back in the truck after giving Alex a sign to wait and quickly and skillfully got the hugeass trailer out of the way of the road, parking it right up against the sidewalk with just enough room to get the car off of it and turn it into the lot. This was a much better idea and Corbin felt like a total moron for not thinking of it. Hell, he and Lexi could probably manage to push the car at least into the lot.. there was a bit of a slope, but new cars were pretty light.

Regardless, Corbin jumped right back out of his truck after shutting it off and up onto the trailer, unhooking the car and preparing to winch it back down the trailer.. "Yo, A! Hop in, man, throw it in neutral, and get a good grip on the wheel. Soon as the tires are on the asphault, turn hard till you're pointed at the driveway, then straighten up. Me'n Red here'll push you on in.." Then, much quieter to himself, "Or she could probly do all the work.. gotta at least try to be a gentleman, though.." After all, he only knew that she was 'strong'.. He'd only very briefly experienced her strength and hadn't been able to get a very accurate read on it. All he knew was that she'd been able to knock him the hell down without even trying.

As Alex tried his best to help direct Corbin, it was becoming rather clear that the big rig wasn’t exactly going anywhere in a hurry. He was starting to blame his terrible directing when a girl with bright red hair came out to see what they were doing. Despite it not being entirely his fault, his face colored anyway.

He waited for her and Corbin to make their exchange before he looked up at her disclaimer. “Uh, that would actually be really great, if you could. It died on the way back from school, and I kind of need it to get back tomorrow. I can pay you for your time.” It hadn’t worked on Corbin, but perhaps it would work on the redhead.

He watched Corbin dash off, following his instructions. It was very, very odd to be steering the car without the familiar sound of the engine, but he did as he was told and managed to get it as straight as he could. There weren’t enough ways to thank both Corbin and the girl willing to help, but he’d certainly try. Once they were closer to the garage, he threw it back in park and stepped out. “Seriously, thank you. You’re life savers, both of you.” Hopefully it was nothing serious.

Axelle shrugged, "Alright, I'll do my best," she agreed as the tall (really hot dude) walked back to his truck. She watched as between the two of them they got the car down and the guy (did hot dude call him 'A'?) positioned it where she needed it to be. That being done she was quickly there and ducking in to put the car back into neutral and popping back out again, hand on the steering wheel and shoulder pressed up against the car as she started carefully moving it up the driveway.

It wasn't heavy or difficult; she just needed to be careful that she didn't put so much pressure on her shoulder that she dented the frame of the car. She wasn't very good with body work (that's what her dad did) so she had to be careful with them usually. She didn't give it two seconds of thought that hot dude would want to help her since he was obviously aware that she was stronger than she looked so it didn't occur to her that he'd want to help her as she pushed and steered the car back up into the driveway and braced herself while she leaned in and put it into park again. Before she shut the door again she pulled the lever to pop the hood and shut the door as she straightened.

“Alright, let’s see what’s going on here,” she murmured to herself as she pulled the hood up and set it into the brace the way she’d done many, many times before. She stood there a moment with her hands on her hips trying to see if anything wrong stood out to her right away before she broke out the tools and started digging.
