It was a lovely, cold night. The perfect night one might say. The stars were bright and there were probably some teens snogging on some bush around. Ah, the perks of living so close to Hammel. Not that Jen was about to judge, she could use some fun herself. Now she was happy enough though, doing one of the things she liked the most: jogging. It was the perfect way to exhaust herself when things got too rough or, like lately, too boring. Besides, it was good to stretch out the legs, and when Jen needed to stretch out, she really meant stretch out.
Turning over a corner as the trees by the lake made a road, her leg bent oddly before returning to its original position. "Uff." She breathed out, feeling the bone crack back into place. That'd hurt. She kept going despite the pain. It was part of the jig. Besides, once the bones all cracked and she worked them, they'd feel much better and easy to stretch again.
Another turn and she got closer to the lake, turning to smile at the sight. The moon was up, glowing on the surface of the water. Best time to run, to be sure. No one to bother her, no one to call her out on anything nor having to pretend to like anyone. Just the best. Except for the fact she couldn't see anything in front of her. Not that she would've since her eyes were still stuck on the lake. And so, as if someone was out to get her, Jen tripped on a rock and plummeted forward, her leg stretching unwillingly and making her do a turn when her head hit the ground, leaving behind a mess of stretched out limbs and a confused Jen.
After a moan and having her arms and legs crack and return to their original state, Jen rubbed her head. "Well, Jen." She muttered to herself, "You wanted something to happen and it happened." She let out a breath and tried to stand, almost tripping again. "At least nobody saw you." At least, she thought so.
