Music Of The Night (Madison)

Maddy curled into a ball tighter on herself as she looked up and realized that the person who was witnessing her further embarrassment was none other than Cinderella. She didn't know whether to be thankful to whatever gods that her embarrassment was witnessed by an imaginary person or be insulted because the imaginary person was Cinderella. After all, what was Cinderella going to do, clean her up?

That was a disgruntling thought. Maddy was feeling so many emotions though, she was surprised she was capable of being solid. On the other hand, if she melted again, she could be cleaned up by Cinderella and then when Cinderella disappeared, Maddy could disappear too. To wherever the boy's imaginary friends went.

Didn't sound to bad at the moment.

"I'm Madison," she said from her position of being curled in a ball of embarrassment, "Friends call me Maddy. I have no idea why, but they say it suits me."

She was so used to saying the last sentence when she introduced herself that it just came out. She was wincing afterwards at the stupidity of it. She hadn't done anything to let onto this boy that she was slightly crazy. He wouldn't get the joke. It would just be one more awkward thing.

[Cade Maddox]

Cade had no idea what to do. At least the gi-, Madison, was still solid. He looked to Cinderella to see what she'd do, and she had jumped off of the stage and asked, "Are you hurt? Do you need help getting up?"

Cade was getting around to those questions himself, but his throat was still deciding whether to scream or not. (A totally manly scream, mind you)

Managing to stifle the scream into a small weird cough, Cade finally said, "Nice to meet you Madison. I'm Cade." It took him a few more moments to form the rest of the words his brain was jumbling together in the hope coherent sentences would be sent to the jaw. No such luck, "Melt. You. Puddle. Girl. Not Melted."

Cade's brain was thoroughly shot. Cinderella seemed to have noticed, and after giving a smile and a small wave to Madison, she walked away, materializing into particles, leaving the two of them alone again.

A small headache coming on, Cade put his hand to his forehead. When his characters forced out, he was more likely to get headaches than when he summoned them normally.

Madison uncurled herself when the boy--Cade--introduced himself. She looked around finding the Cinderella girl gone and just Cade there with his hand on his forehead. She wondered what she should say to him now that they were alone again. This had to be one of the most awkward meetings she'd ever had with another individual unintentionally.

"Yeah... I melt," Maddy finally said, "It's kind of lame, right? I mean, I go from being a solid person to liquid goo on the floor when I'm nervous or flustered or about to fall down stairs."

Maddy laughed nervously as she stood up and rubbed one toe against the other as she looked down at her feet. It really was a lame power. Not like making imaginary people appear out of nowhere or even something cool like telekinesis. She didn't know why she had to lose the power lottery. Some people could have super strength or bend spoons. Maddy... melted.

She hoped the boy didn't think less of her because of it. He had a really cool power. She wished she could make people appear out of nowhere. Then she'd never get bored or lonely. Then again, he probably didn't have many social skills. Maybe that's why people thought he was weird. Huh.

[Cade Maddox]

Cade's headache was minimal but there. Two uncontrolled summons and genuine shock and dismay over Madison's...form change were enough to start one. At this point, he really didn't know what to say to the girl. Should he say anything? If they talked about her power any longer, he'd probably just make a greater fool of himself. The most he could manage was a semi-quiet response of, "I mean, it's really different. But I suppose it could be helpful in...uh...hiding or something like that..."

Massaging his forehead one last time, he stood up and said, semi-awkwardly, "You mind if I uh...continue practicing? My characters gave me a small headache and it helps relax me. You can come up here if you want...or uh...stay down there. I don't really mind." The part his brain almost sent to his lips before being stopped by his sanity was 'as long as you don't melt all over me'. But he hoped that was presumed at this stage.

He wasn't really bothered by her power beyond the bizarre and genuinely horror-movie look to it. But at the end of the day, he felt more sorry for her then anything. Maybe she would like a song, "What kind of music do you like?" His brain had a brief moment of 'I Melt With You' by Modern English but once again made sure to tie his tongue.
