"Is this a just a temporary thing until you and Kimi work something out?"

"I'm thinking it is going to be a permanent thing."

"Why?"

"Sometimes when two people love each other they can stop loving each other."

"Why?"

"Because your mom is going to live in one house and your dad is going to live in another house."

"Why?"

"Why do you ask a lot of questions? Eat your breakfast, silly boy"

"Something’s weird with me. It’s kind of freaky."

"Oh? Oh! Well, um, uh, take a seat and we’ll talk, bud. You see when you get to a certain age your body will go through some changes. Your body starts to become more of a man than a boy. You’ll get certain feelings."

"What?"

"It’s normal. It happens to everyone, even girls. Don’t ask. Go ask Julia about that if you want to know."

"NO! No. I’ll stick with guy things. So, this is normal? Can you change?"

"When I was your age, yes. The change is once. The feeling will stay with you. Now not every guy is attracted to girls."

"NO! STOP!"

"I know. I still worry about him."

"I think I'll be alright. Like Uncle said, it's just a few hours away. I can come back if I need to."

Hey Auntie and Uncle,

I made it through my first day at Hammel. I still have some unpacking to do. I wish you were able to help me move in. I know Auntie had an important meeting and Uncle is sick as a dog. Feel better, Uncle. I am rooming with three other guys. One of the guys is a real grumpy puss. The other two are pretty cool. My classes are pretty normal. I got history, math, English, science, fine arts, and gym. I also have training sessions for my power.

Subject: Help

Auntie, make it stop. I hate my training sessions. It hurts so much when I change. My whole body is always sore and aches after training. I have pounding headaches. And eating seems like it's only I'm doing. Mr. Watkins says the pain will ease, as I get better at shifting. He says the pain may not fully go away, but I’ll be able to tolerate the pain. My fingers are sore just typing this email.

Everything is going good with roommates expect Mr. Grumpy Puss. He is so sour. He keeps shutting me down. I will befriend him even if it kills him.

How’s Uncle doing? Has he found another job yet? I'll be home for Thanksgiving. Can't wait to see you.

Hi Auntie and Uncle,

I'm totally looking forward to vacation. I can't wait to see you. I have been really getting into playing the guitar. Reading the music sheets and know to make that note on the guitar is getting much easier. I've also been busy with the student council setting up dances and coming up with new ideas for events and things. I have a mountain of friends now. And with the new students coming to Hammel I'm helping and befriending them.

And I'm going to see if I can borrow the guitar to bring home with over break. That way I can play for you guys. See you in a few weeks.

"I've been saving up my money from my waiter job. I've been looking around for apartments. I think I found one in Pilot Ridge."

"You want to go back to Pilot Ridge?"

"Yeah, why not? I'm 23. I have the money. All I have to do is set up a time with the landlord to see the apartment."

"Lei, Caleb does have a point. He is plenty old enough to live on his own or with a roommate. He has the money. Why not let Caleb move out?"

"I never said he couldn't. I'm just interested in why Pilot Ridge. That's all."

"I like it there. So, you're both okay with me moving out then?"

Yo. I have gotten another job as a waiter. I seem to do good at that. It's not a big big restaurant. It's a good size and my pervious waiting job helps a lot.

The other day I got the shit scared out of me. I involuntary shifted into my red panda form. The pain level was through the freaking roof. I know I have control over my shifting but if I scared beyond scared I involuntary shift. Those involuntary hurt so freaking much. Even when I shift willingly it still hurts but not as much. I got a terrible headache and I was non stop eating machine.

I ate a BUG!!! I was out on a run and bug flew into my mouth. I like choked on a bug. Don't eat bugs. Not fun.

On a more serious note, I got the boot. The restaurant that I worked at fired me and bunch of other people too. I don't get why I was one of the ones getting the boot. I'm totally qualified for the job. And I did my job well. Whatever. I have to look for another job. In the mean time I have applied to Greenview Community College. I'm going to be a time student for now.

Hi Auntie and Uncle,

Things are going good with me. I'm starting another semester at community college. I took a couple of classes during the summer to keep in the groove of things. I think I've figured out what I want to study. I'm not one hundred percent if it's what I want to do. For the time being I'm taking general classes that I need credits in. Once I figure out what I truly want to study I go after it.

I have gotten a job at a local café. The only thing that hasn't really gone my way is finding a roommate. I didn't know it was hard to find someone to live with. I had been to a couple of interview/meets but nothing has gotten beyond that. I hope to find someone soon.
