7. Hum
When he had nothing better to do, at night--which was pretty much every night--Levi would volunteer to do the dishes, since the twins were nice enough to do all that cooking.
"Nice" is, of course, a relative term. And really, it was all the radio's fault. He put it on, and dammit, the song was catchy.
"You know it feels so dirty when they start talking cute. I want to tell her that I love her but the point is probably moot."
Levi's head started bobbing as he sorted out the silverware into the dishwasher, and rinsing the dishes. He didn't know how he knew this song, but he figured Nomi had played it at one point or another.
"And I'm looking in the mirror all the time, wondering what she don't see in me."
He hummed along, remembering only some of the words, the chorus. And when he reached it, he started singing.
"You know I wish that I had Jesse's girl. I wish that I had Jesse's girl."
There might have been a little dancing as well, between the table and the sink, as he cleared up the serving bowls. In fact, it probably would have looked pretty smoothly choreographed, with spins and tapping out the rhythm on the plates with his sponge. The song was so catchy, Levi couldn't help getting into it.
"I wish that I had Jesse's girl. I want, I want Jesse's girl.
He was too far into it to notice that his singing had disturbed a particular blond teenager.
Jesse stood in the doorway to the kitchen and growled, "What the fuck are you doing?"

Mr. Underwood originally planned to dock the money from the serving bowl he broke from his allowance, until Levi actually explained why he'd shrieked and dropped the thing. Then, Gabriel had been laughing too hard to punish him.
