Velvet-Tone Coffeehouse The Velvet-tone's floor is pale brown tile, and its plaster walls are the color of honey. The lighting is warm and bright towards the front, and dimmer towards the back. The coffeehouse is split into two small, fairly separate areas. Up front are several large tables, clearly meant for groups; towards the back are two small booths, complete with pale green curtains for a little extra privacy. To the right is the cash register and a display counter, full of cupcakes and cookies, muffins and pastries. A little soft music plays in the background. |

Books of Honor Managed by Hope Barker, a brightly bricked building sits in between other, very different establishments. There are three signs on this shop: one up top, for those who can see, and one on each side of the door, in raised lettering and in braille, for those who can not. Books of Honor is a bookstore for the visually impaired, stocking braille and audiobooks in many genres and languages. Its layout is open, with most items on shelves on the walls, and only three rows of standing shelves in the middle of the store. |

Taiga Memories Managed by Marcel Fritz. A meager looking hole in the wall from the outside, sandwiched between two overwhelmingly more modem buildings. An ancient squeaky door reveals a cluttered mess of narrow passageways stocked on either side with multitudes of esoteric and miscellaneous trinkets and treasures from some golden but no less bygone era. If you find yourself drawn to the prospect of owning a collection of essentially useless wing-dings and nick-knacks, then step right in, wiggle your way up to the cluttered counter and share a moment with the quiet cashier, the one who will tell you he's just thinning. You might find the sitting area by the back door, a few chairs and tables with ages no doubt double yours, and select one of the many dusty tomes of the Farmer's Almanac. |

Clothing Poverty Clothing Poverty is a two story building. It has stairs to a balcony up top, though it's almost never used. It's set up with half. There is a red line down the middle and at the end of that line is the cash register. On one side is the women's and the other side is the men's. There are dressing rooms on either side. Black and white pictures of nature shots are hung everywhere. The wall is a pretty lilac lavender and the rug is a shaggy off color white. |

New2You Consignment Shop The name of the store is "New2U" and the description is "New2U is a deceptively large store because it is very long but rather narrow. The store has most of the clothing towards the front with labels on the front of the racks with the type of clothing on each one. Running along one side of the store is shelving with knickknacks, some kitchen appliances, and other household items. Towards the end of this shelving are books and VHS movies. All clothing donations are sent through the washer and dryer in the back room, located behind the register counter. At the rear of the store to the side of the counter there is an area for furniture. Julia’s dog Watson sometimes scatters his toys around the shop and is often seen greeting customers at the door |

Dusty Ink The shop itself isn't too big, the outside walls are red brick adorned with some of the local artist's graffiti, something that Dustin thought added to it's personality. Inside the walls are a vibrant red, and the tattoo chairs are black leather. The counter is made from the front end of a classic muscle car, and there are a few private rooms in the back for larger tattoos or for piercings. |

The Book Nook Your average looking independent bookstore, signified by its signage above and the bright red door as its entry. The store is of course full of books separated by their genre, with plenty of comfortable seating if you're just interested in dropping by and reading a few chapters. Early rhythm and blues tracks flow through the speakers and fill the room for a relaxed ambiance. The shopfront window constantly displays different books that it's owner Thomas thinks are worth looking into. Can't find what you're looking for? He'll gladly order it in for you. |

Bubblebeam Tea Shop A small, brightly colored building in the middle of downtown, this shop is very popular with the young adult crowd, especially in the later hours of night. Open until 2 am most evenings, it's a great place to come and enjoy some tasty bubble tea in a fun, energetic atmosphere. The lower floor contains the ordering counter and lots of small, cutesy tables to sit at; a narrow staircase leads up to a more open area with beanbags and room to move around, and even dance if you're feeling the mood. |

Ink on the Vine Ivy's shop is small, but spacious and uncluttered with a vaguely oriental vibe going on. There are examples of her art hung on every wall, and the lone chair for her clients is as comfortable as it looks. |

James's Auto Certainly no fancy establishment, this auto shop has a two-car garage outfitted with all of the standard equipment for fixing pretty much anything. There is barely enough room in the back for storage and parts but the space is kept fairly clean. Alongside the garage is a small waiting area with a comfy couch, a couple of seats, a small tv, and an old boom box. The back office has just enough room for a couple of desks, computers, and filing cabinets. |

Back to the Drawing Board A medium-sized local business located in the middle of downtown Pilot Ridge. The building is bright and boldly colored, as is the inside, where one can find anything from drawing and painting supplies to scrapbooking materials to crafting kits and anything in between. The lot is small, but the building is three stories tall, with a different color scheme and main craft focus on each floor. Overall it's a very unusual, creatively designed shop, and meant to help inspire creativity in its customers. |

King and Queen Antiquities A somewhat narrow two story building with an almost full glass front for the first floor while the second floor is smooth wood paneling with two display windows. Three steps with vintage looking iron railings on either side of them lead up to the front door, a small bell signaling the arrival and exit of each person passing through. The interior is well organized with each piece of merchandise having it's own unique display case or stand. The first floor is usually for the browsers and light shoppers while the second floor is for the serious collectors.
