The Basics
Name: Timothy Jeremy Lyne, Jr.
Nicknames: Tim
Age: Twenty-Nine
Orientation: Heterosexual
Desired Rank/Job: Recruiter
Powers: Power Detection - the ability to know whenever someone has/is using powers. Similar to the tracking ability, in that, with focus, a power detector can locate any meta. The closer the meta is, or the sooner they use the ability, the easier it is to locate them. Generally speaking, if the power detector is in the same room as a meta, he/she can point directly at the meta without looking or even focusing. It generally manifests as a buzz and/or an urging, similar to how some people feel around electronics. A power detector can also generally locate metas if given a map or GPS, though that proves much, much easier to foil. He/she also needs to know more or less what she/he's looking for, otherwise the interference of multiple metas proves difficult. With training, they can figure out different abilities thanks to the different buzzing frequencies.
This ability leads to headaches, especially if used for an extended period of time or the power detector is consistently around metas. It's also easy enough to scramble, with enough people between the detector and the target.

General Appearance: He's bringing sexy back.
In all seriousness, Tim is a good looking man, and he's fully aware of that fact. When he's fully aware, he will actually spend a fair amount of time making sure that he looks good, and we're talking sexy. He always manages to keep his hair short, and generally in neat, tight curls. Most of his clothing enhances his appearance too, though that comes from reading the right magazines and asking the right people.
However, Tim also, as we'll soon see, has a strong tendency to party too hardy. As a result, his nice clothes often look slept in, his facial hair has a tendency to turn into a five o'clock shadow without his knowing about it, and he has what he likes to call "sex hair." Whether or not he actually has the sex that produces the hair...
Personality: Responsibility and Tim are distant acquaintances, at best. He spent most of his life just barely getting through, with the possible exception of mastering his ability. When you have a nagging sensation that others are around you, you have a tendency to learn to work that. Besides, totally worked for picking up chicks.
So Tim often avoids actual work or anything of the sort, or at least, he did. He's been trying to do a little better since he signed on as a recruiter at Hammel, but it's still not going well. Thankfully, he does have a lot of sympathy for the students he recruits, going out of his way to make sure they get to Hammel. That being said, checking up on them takes too much work.
Now, there is one thing that Tim will work very hard at: and that's chilling. Nobody knows how to relax and party like Tim. For this man can claim awe-inspiring skills in drinking, dancing, getting a crowd going, and generally avoiding the dreaded "work."
Oh, and he really, really likes his drink. It dulls the buzz.

History
When Tim and Melissa Lyne had their child, they knew he was going to be junior. So they might have spoiled him a little from there. They had reason to: Melissa wasn't expected to actually be able to produce children, and Tim was the result of several years of trying. So their precious little boy was their world, a miracle granted them from whomever happened to be listening to their prayers at the time.
Tim might have been slightly spoiled. In the scale with Hilton twins on one end and Harry Potter on the other, let's just say that Tim leaned much closer to the Hiltons. If his parents actually had the Hiltons' money, then Tim probably would have landed his own reality show by now. Would probably have been the only thing he'd be good at.
Because Tim really wasn't good at much else. It was just too much work, doing anything. He could relax people, and seemed to like to socialize with just about anybody who bothered. In fact, he'd often be able to hunt down other children to play with on the playground. That knack followed him into middle school, and it was only around high school that it blossomed from being a "knack" to something else.
There were no fireworks, no sudden explosion of power, not when you had an ability like Tim's. In fact, it was the blood test that caught him, as he proved to be meta-positive. Tim knew the recruiter was coming, and he soon discovered that he knew where a lot of people were. The moment he drew close to Pilot Ridge, the buzzing started. As he drew close to the school, it threatened to overwhelm him. They had to start feeding him aspirin, and worked individually to hone his ability.
Which proved to be the only thing Tim was actually good at. He quickly learned to detect other metas, actively seeking out some and actively avoiding others. Maybe if he'd put as much effort into his schoolwork or athletics as he did learning his ability, he'd have more to brag about. Still, you couldn't fault him for his ability.
Tim managed to just barely pass the academic lessons offered at Hammel, and he quickly said goodbye. The idea was to get far enough away to permanently end the buzz. Because while it was fun to be able to find people, having nearly constant headaches was a bit of a pain. He managed it, more or less, and found a community where there really weren't any metas.
And in that community, Tim went through jobs and money like they were alcohol. Eventually, he figured that he needed to return to what he was good at. Trusting his instincts, he returned to Hammel, applying for a recruiter job. Since he has an uncanny knack for locating other metas, he proved to have a fairly high success rate. The only real issue was his lack of drive, as has been said several times.
It's been several months since his return to Pilot Ridge, and Tim is still trying to get used to things. Still trying to become the responsible adult he's supposed to be. For now though, alcohol and honeys await. So what are we waiting for?
Roleplay Example
"One drink won't hurt, right?" Tim asked the surrounded crowd. Without waiting for a response, he downed the drink, slamming it down on the bar. Both hands shot in the air, and Tim cheered, somehow managing to get some of the crowd to cheer with him. Then again, most bar crowds are willing to cheer on anyone, given a chance.
Really, Tim did intend for that to be the only drink he had that night. Just a couple to help him unwind. He had to set out the next morning to go play headhunter for Hammel again, so he was supposed to stay as sober as possible. He'd even gotten orders that said as much. Very explicit orders. They were all like "don't get drunk, Tim. You have to be a responsible adult in the morning."
So three drinks later, Tim was dancing on the bar. He shouted at the top of his lungs, leaning as far back as he could manage without bending over.
"Who's bringing sexy back!?" he yelled again. Rebalancing himself, he laughed, moving his dance back into something that involved a lot more grinding. His hand went down to grab at the edge of his shirt, and it slowly started to work its way up, baring the six pack underneath. He'd just about gotten it up, when he thought he saw someone in the crowd, someone... familiar.
"Hey there, sexy," he called. He had to squint. The buzzing was happening. "Oh, s**t."
They'd sent a babysitter.
Tim was nearly half-naked and definitely tipsy.
This was gonna be fun.
