Good day, Mr. Marshall. Thank you for taking an interest in this Job offer.
Thank you for taking my application and inviting me for this interview. It's good to be back at Hammel.
You realize why you are here then?
Yes, You called me about four days ago because I noticed that you needed more security gaurds and I applied. I heard from a friend of mine that hammel was still going strong. I miss Hammel and would like to return which is why I applied to be part of your staff.
Well, can we begin with your childhood and back ground? Tell us about your childhood.
Well I was born in on the tenth day of the third month twenty five years ago so basically the tenth of March. I was the first child in Eugene Marshall's household and a son as well. He was delighted with the news and being a military man for basically most of his life, I expect he already had plans for me the moment I let out my first cry.
His plans became duplicated when my younger brother came to the scene four years later. It was amazing that my mother even had him at her age since she was well into her mid thirties by then. She wanted a girl though. She'd always said that.
Oh well, we were taught that you never can get anything you want but you will get everything you need so the whole family started believing that what we had was what we needed and that was it. We never asked for more as kids and we were just content with what we got.
Probably the reason why I didn't go balistic about my own powers I suppose. I thought that I was given what God thought I needed. Long since has the time passed where I believe in God, though my old man still believes I do.
He'd put me throught Sunday school all over again if he found out I don't. What I came to believe, the moment I turned into a Meta was that we are Gods among men. So for the first part of my childhood I was a good little Robotic boy following daddies orders. I have to admit that my brother was just the same.
The last part of my childhood before I was forced into the army to fight America's war, was when I found out who I really was and what powers I possessed within me. Thanks to Hammel. Regardless of what we were taught as children, we had a good childhood, needed for nothing and never wanted anything more then we got.
You mentioned your father, Eugene Marshall, is a general in the US army. What was it like in your house?
My old man ruled the roost pretty much. We grew up under strict and proper rule. We were taught to say Sir and Ma'am. We were taught to be seen and not heard. Most importantly, we were taught to follow and respect our elders.
Now, Seargant Major Marshall didn't let his sons see any weaknesses in him. He was both the perfect idol and the worst example. When we were disobedient or opened out mouths at the wrong time we were sent to the corner. We'd get the belt, three lashes, which really stopped being so bad after the age of seven.
The best part of punishment was that poor old dad didn't like punishing his pride and joy, me and my brother, and he'd get sloppy with that belt. He turned us into fine men, not that either of us believed that at the time. I guess it's like being the son of a preacher man.
And your mother? What was she like?
My mother was like a stepford wife. She would buy flowers, cook apple pie and make sure there was always a fresh batch of cookies in the cookie jar. If you needed a hug her arms were wide open. There were bed time kisses and early morning songs each day.
Her name was Julianna and my dad could not have found a more amazing housewife. She stepped in when dad gave us the look, the one that warns we've gone far enough, simply saying 'Oh Eugene, they're just boys. Let them be.'
It never failed and when dad was sent out, we were never a happier cheerier house. My mother seemed to fill the house roles easily with dad being away, mainly because we never seemed to cause her issues. We love our mom though she'd getting annoying with her empty nest syndromes.
You have a younger brother too right?
Yes, I do. His name is Tristan. He's four years younger then me as mentioned and he's in military academy right now. We don't choose this. Like I said, our dad has plans for us but the war is basically over and Tristan wasn't even sent out to it so thank God for small mercies.
He had to many issues with his powers when he graduated from Hammel that he had to stay on in Vermont to get a hold on his powers before he could be placed at a military training camp. By the time he was eventually placed, withdrawals were being made from Iraq and there was no point for him to be sent in. He's always been lucky like that.
Tell us about your power. How did you first discover it?
Well, Gravitation Field Manipulation. Basically I can manipulate the earth's gravitational forcefeild. At first I had no idea what that meant or how my powers worked but thank God for Hammel since the moment my powers made their appearance, I was located and taken in for training.
See, the manipulation part of my powers was the first to surface. I was in school one day being bullied by a group of kids who thought it funny that I had a military officer for a dad and took that out on me when they all started screaming.
I'd somehow changed the gravitational pull on their bodies and made them all feel like their organs were about to fall out of their bodies and into the ground. They ran away pretty quickly. Unfortunately it had a similar effect on me.
I felt heavy after my power surfaced and I hit the ground and fainted. It hurts like a hell. It really does. It took me a long time in Hammel to leard to control this power of mine and it still hurts should I wanna use it on a human.
I prefer the human way of fighting or killing to my powers to be perfectly honest.
The second part of my power is not so much manipulation as it is building a gravitational force feild around a certain object. It's pretty much what the earth is doing to the moon. This part of my power does not come naturally.
It's difficult to control the right amount of pull so that the object I'm creating a gravitational pull for, will orbit me without smacking me in the face or against my body. I hate this part of my power and shy away from using it at all. I suffer from severe migraines if I do this to an object that is much bigger then a coin.
Now, we know you were here at hammel for some time. How did that go?
Hammel saved my life. If I hadn't been recruited by one of your recruiters, I would have hurt myself or someone else... unintentionally of course. I made friends in Hammel that I would have killed to have watching my back on the battle field.
I wish just half of the soldiers I lead were like the friends I'd made at Hammel. Very few of them were long lasting though. When a guy goes off to war and becomes a soldier, he has to focus on straight ahead instead of behind him you see?
Hammel taught me a lot and to think, I was only about 13 years old when I entered it. Now a man of twenty five. I hope I made Hammel as proud as I made my dad. Or maybe I just about made him content.
What happened to you after you left Hammel?
After I left Hammel at the age of 18, I was taken into my dad's base and trained. I was soon enlisted to NATO's ground force squad and sent to Iraq. During the next three years I spent my life in Iraq having arrived when I was barely twenty one.
I became a Seargant two years after I arrived in Iraq for outstanding reactions while under attack. I got my own five private troop at the age of 23. A proud young daddy to a group of noobs I was eager enough to show them the ropes.
Unfortunately some ropes can give you burns of you tug too hard. We were a cocky bunch and we'd heard of a group not far from where we'd been stationed. We'd been together for about eight months at that point and we were all bored out of our minds.
I guess I figured 'what the hell' which is always bad judgement on a seargant's part. If I hadn't made that stupid mistake I'm sure in two more years I'd have gotten my second rank of Staff Seargant. Anyway, we came away from it two men down and three injured.
The second youngest of my troop added to the two men casualty by the following morning. I was only shot in the shoulder so I wasn't hurt badly. Thomas, the other injured private, got treated for a bullet through the gut.
He survived as well but with three dead and my shoulder basically rendered unfit for the army, I was sent home to recover. That's why I decided to apply here. I'm twenty four. Desk Jobs ain't my forte.
Why are you demoting yourself? You were a seargant in the army. You'll only be security here.
Like I said. I can't be doing a desk job. I'd rather be protecting and defending. Besides, you need more Meta's right? My shoulder injury wasn't that bad. The only issue with it really, is that I can't move it three hundred and sixty degrees without flinching.
I'm broken goods to the army now. That's what they do. Throw you out when you have a scratch. Think they're also worried about our sanity after something like that. I assure you, I'm perfectly sane...
Tell us about being shot.
You want the gruesome details? The hot blood splattered across my face. How loud the gun shots were. Michael's screaming. I think Thomas did soil himself. Even putting this into words does not explain the magnitude of what we've seen as soldiers.
It was the most painful thing I have EVER experienced in my life. I was in agony. I don't even think a woman hurts that much when she gives birth. The worst part was keeping my power under control. It did help to distract me.
Any regrets about joining the army?
Absolutely not. I'm glad for being taught values and being able to defend my country and protect out honour as Americans. The only think I do regret is being responsible for the lives of three people who died under MY command.
What are your goals for the future?
You know, people keep asking me that but when you're in the army and your goal becomes seeing the sun rise the next morning then you leave the army and you're back in the real world... alive and well... the future doesn't seem definite anymore...
I really would be lying to you if I told you I had a goal. I don't. I still think at night 'will I wake up to see the sun rise?'.
Why are you applying for this job in particular?
Because it's the only job that best suites me. I think I'd be good at it and I won't disappoint you. Plus, God knows I need a purpose in like. After four months I'm kinda getting bored of day time tv shows.
What's your worst trait?
Taking risks. But I think I'm pretty much over that one. Let's see. I'm rough handed I guess. I go for what I want now. I don't have a father to tell me I don't need it anymore.
What's your best trait?
My Bravery I suppose. I'm not really scared of much. I guess that happens when you face dying. I'm also not gonna pussy foot around. I know too many people who've done that and gotten killed for it.

What happened in the end?
Well, Taitum got accepted into Hammel after the very much informal interview and was sent to work right away. He found a place to share within a few months of arriving and he's doing well for himself. There is one thing about the young man that isn't quite right.
He seems normal of course, he acts normal but there is a cruelty to his eyes when he looks your way. It can be very scary at times. He's dressed to the T's most of the time but his hair is a tad on the shaggy side. Doesn't help that he continuously runs his fingers through it leaving it standing up in all sorts of strange directions.
Taitum is really not the type of guy who'll stand up for what's right. Rather, he'll get involved due to utter boredom. He's just been through a war where he did all sorts of horrible things so there is quite a darkside to him.
Of course, he'll lay down his LIFE for Hammel and its students but don't underestimate him as a student. He'll make you suffer if you get on his bad side. As for students trying to escape past their curfew... God help you...
Other then that, Taitum seems bored of life and about the most exciting thing that he can do is get into bar fights after a shift at Hammel. He's not a heavy drinker. He's just pretty much a trouble maker, living out his lost youth.Behind the M A S K . . .Name: Angel
