Nicknames: Lex
Age:Thirty

If she stays in communication too long, she begins to revert to growling and barking instead of speaking and she must concentrate hard to fix it.

The Details
Hair Color: Natural Brown
Eye Color:Blue
Any Piercings?No
Any Tattoos?Only one, though she is attracted to men with tattoos. Her brother's name is written in fancy letters on her wrist.
Any Scars?No significant scars.
General Appearance: : On a casual day, she could be found wearing a tight pair of jeans and a simple tee or tank-top. She has an athletic build; she runs and exercises every morning and played sports throughout school. Her brown hair is usually kept at about her shoulders and her eyes are an icy blue. She's used the fact that she doesn't look like a cop to her advantage quite a few times. She rarely wears make-up, unless she is going on a date or to something fancy. She feels she is beautiful enough and does not wish to spend the time putting it on or making sure it is correct all day. She stands at 5'7.
Personality: She likes staying active. Her father, as a detective, taught her to be very observant of her surroundings so she tends to notice everything down to the tiniest detail. He would often test the twins. If they went to a restaurant, they would look around as they walked to their table. Once seated, their father would ask them to close their eyes and tell him how many, for example, hats were in the room. Or women, blue shirts, etc. They often spoke of becoming twin PI's when they were younger. She'd always felt they'd have made a good team. She was upfront and brash, he was sneaky and quick. She'd be the PR while he controlled things behind the scenes. She's very sociable, outgoing, says whatever is on her mind and doesn't usually hold back. She is brutally honest and wishes everyone would do the same. She tries hard to never break the rules and it makes her angry when people have no respect for them. The peace of shooting at a range is one of her most favorite things to do to get some thinking done. She loves dogs in general and especially her dogs, who she has trained beyond the normal dog. They are very intelligent and loyal to her. She still has a secret hope of finding Loki one day and starting their PI business.
Your Vices
Likes: Dogs, fast cars, black and white movies, old westerns, horses, guns, tattooed guys.
Dislikes: Cats, birds, the thought that her brother might actually be dead, people having no respect for rules, people that have no respect for a badge, stupid or weak people, liars and cheaters.
Strengths: Taking in everything in her surroundings in a short period of time, reading people's reactions, guns, knives, precision throwing in general, the ability to speak and communicate to her dogs as well as others.
Weaknesses: She is not so good at being quiet or holding her words in. She tries to be a good person, almost to a fault and has lost a few friends from being too honest, uptight or set in her ways.
Fears: Hearing the news her brother is dead. Spiders, she can't stand them, a fact which she would like kept secret or she would die of embarrassment.
Secret: Not really other than the fact she screams like a little girl if a spider is on her. She's lead a pretty straight life and tried to be a good person.

History
Her family had old money and Lex had a fairly normal, if a little privileged, childhood. She was athletic, social, and intelligent. Her mother came from the long line of a wealthy family; her father was a police detective of over 15 years. Her parents had high hopes for her growing up, picturing their little girl as a Lawyer or a Doctor or, in their secretest of hopes, maybe even the first female president! Lex herself had always wanted to be a detective, like her father. As twins they had been very close, if exact opposites in almost every way but looks. Where she was book smart and athletic and got what she wanted when she wanted it by working hard, Loki was street smart and wiry and sneaky like a fox. She was popular in school and he hung out with the outcasts, the rebels. Regardless of their opposite social standings, the two were very important to each other and were, at least when alone, each others best friend. Not everyone knew how close they were.
It started when the twins were 13. They were in the woods behind their house. Their father had installed a bell on their porch to ring when it was time to return home and had built a small fence around their large property which they were to stay in.
****************************
"Loki, I'm not kidding!! Dad rang the bell like ten minutes ago, he's gona kick our asses!" even knowing her parents were nowhere around, Lex had a quick feeling of fear at using a cuss word followed by the cheap thrill of being 'bad'. That was Lex, she rarely disobeyed the rules and felt completely guilty when she did so swearing was pretty much as 'bad' as she got. Observant blue eyes scanned the trees, searching for the brown sweater Loki was wearing. He was smart, always wore woodsy colored clothes when they played their games. Shed learned a lot from him on how to be sneaky. Lex would be mortified if her friends found out that she played such a childish game as Hide and Seek with her in their words, "Loser brother".
"I'm hungry and I don't want to play anymore! Fine! You've won! Sheesh!" It always surprised her how she could excel so much at sports and her brother was so scrawny and weak, yet he always seemed to win out here in the woods. She rarely gave up in anything, unless it was with him. Some things she just knew he was better at. She crashed through the trees like a big brown bear, where he slunk behind trees and hid in brushes. She decided she'd give it one more go and do a quick circuit of the property before she went home without her brother and let him get grounded! She started out at a steady jog, weaving around trees and roots. Trees and roots that she'd weaved around all of her life. At the furthest part of the property, she finally saw her brother, kneeling by the edge of the fence, staring beyond. She ran to his side, "Didn't you hear me yelling or the bell, dummy?"
No answer, he just stared at the deep woods beyond their fence. Lex turned and looked beyond, not seeing anything. Her eyes quickly darted to the ground in front of the fence, on the inside. A deer had been ripped to shreds. Much to her embarrassment she turned and vomited behind her brother, using his shoulder as a balance. As soon as her hand touched him, she could tell he was as stiff as the wood fence in front of them. Not that she blamed him. God, why was he staring at this? Some animal had obviously gotten it.. or something. But why stare at it? Once her stomach was empty, she wiped her mouth off and stood. Then steeled herself and turned around to look at the body again. She was proud that she could look at it and not puke again... not that there was anything left in there to come up.
"Loki... what the hell are you doing?" again, as ridiculous as it was in the situation, she felt that fear and thrill, " We need to get back and tell Dad this is here so he can take care of it and.." she trailed off when she looked at his face for the first time. "Are you ok..? Did you see the animal that did this?"
He looked up at her and she was surprised by what she saw. She took a step back, confused. As his twin, they'd always had an unspoken connection. Now she was starting to get scared by what she felt.
"I've never been so scared in my life!" he said, as if he had read her mind.
Loki had never, in their 13 years, admitted to Lex that he was scared. He may have been a scrawny kid, but Lex had always felt he was steel hard underneath and stronger than she'd ever be.
"Well," she said, "I think we need to get back and tell dad about this. Tell him everything you saw-"
"No!" she was cut off by her brothers frantic plea.
She gave him a curious look, blue eyes squinting. She could tell he wouldnt be talking about it right now no matter how much she bugged him. Fine Im sure hell find it when he goes hunting and he can take care of it, if the animal that killed it doesnt come back for dinner Speaking of, dad rang the dinner bell a while ago! Lets go, were probably already in trouble!
She tugged his sleeve, pulling him into a standing position. "OK.. sound good? Let's go!" With that she turned around and ran towards home. She was nervous for a minute when she didn't hear her brother behind her, so she turned to look.. He was staring beyond the fence. "HEY, let's GO!" He snapped to and turned to run and follow.
*********************************
It was a week later he told her his story and only after she had discovered she could communicate with the family dog. He told her that day he had actually turned into a dog and attacked that deer. Amazed at their new abilities, they worked together on them and soon discovered that they were not the same. Loki could not communicate with them and Lexi could not shape-shift. Two weeks after the incident, they were both brought to the Hammel Institute. She excelled in her classes, graduated at the top of her class and quickly left to become a cop, while Loki hung out with dangerous people and after just barely graduating he left town under sketchy circumstances. Lex eventually left her job on the force, took her debit card with her family money behind it, her two new collie puppies and went on a search for her brother. After years of searching she didnt know much, only that as far as she could tell, he was alive and on the run from.. something. But he was obviously doing well on his own, evading even the person who knew him better than any in the world. She needed a job and soon found herself back at the Institute. Head of Security sounded just about right to her or she would start from the bottom if she had to. Because Lex worked hard for what she wanted and always got it.
Roleplay Example
She'd been driving for ten hours straight. It was about time for a rest. She decided the first hotel she came to she'd stop and stay the night, maybe do a little research on her computer. A few miles later she saw a little sign for a cute little bed and breakfast. It seemed as good a choice as any, to her. She pulled her mustang into the driveway and turned her car off. Dizzle jumped to the front from the back seat, his tail wagging in his anticipation of running free while Lobelia, or Libby as she was nicknamed, stayed in the back seat. That was her two dogs. Dizzle with his one brown eye, one blue eye and brown and white fur, was energetic, spunky and not as bright as Libby. Libby, a more common black and white, was more relaxed, smart and content to just sit by her owner's side until she was needed. She grabbed her bag and her laptop, let the dogs run around a little then headed inside. Hopefully they accepted dogs. On entering the room, her eyes did a quick scan, tucking every single piece of information away into the file cabinet that was her brain. She noticed the rubber plant in the corner of the room; the warm homey farm decorations; the bell on the front desk. She noticed the sign that said "Children left unattended will be sold to the circus" and had to smile. She took in the tiny crack in the front window, the peeling paint on the walls, a stain on the wood floor partly hidden by an area rug. Little, useless details but she noticed everything. She set her travel bag down and rang the bell. Dizzle and Libby sat at her side, obedient and seemingly as alert as she was. She often felt that her dogs were just as much of detectives as she was. After a minute, an elderly lady came into the room and behind the desk. She assured Lex that dogs were indeed welcome and she had a beautiful room with a dog bed already included and a door to the back yard. She happily accepted, took the key and after quick directions to the room, told the woman she could find her own way. Once in her room, she set her things on the bed and went from window to window, door to door, checking the locks. Another thing her father had taught her as a part of his life-long lessons. She took a quick shower then settled in for a long night of research with maybe a few hours of sleep.
