Quinn is a healer. Her abilities can be used for other people but not for herself and she can heal injuries, dissolve pain and cure sickness. She can not however cure diseases like cancer or HIV/AIDS but she can help treat these diseases and make patients feel no pain.
Her powers are most effective in younger people/people who are still growing and developing.
The draw backs to her powers is it makes her very tired and demands a lot of concentration which often leads to bad headaches.

General Appearance:
Quinn is a big presence in a small body. She stands at a slim 5'3" and is 107 pounds. She has very dark brown almost black wavy hair that she cuts in layers and lets flow down her back. She is plagued with a thing she likes to call chronic bitch face. She just doesn't look welcoming despite her best efforts. Her eyes are a cold piercing blue that have a sultry edge but tend to more often than not seem rather unfriendly lacking any sign of warmth.
Quinn dresses very professional if there is any chance of being spotted by a patient or a co-worker. She wants to be taken seriously and thinks that dressing the part is a huge contributing factor to her success. That being said, she almost always wears heals and does what she can to make herself appear taller than she actually is. She likes to wear pencil skirts and blouses and when at work wears a fun tie-dye lab coat over her clothes. The tie-dye isn't exactly her cup of tea but she finds the kids like it and it makes her look more friendly... something she also struggles with. When the threat of running into people she wants to impress is gone she's found in very different clothes. Usually a band t-shirt and a pair of yoga pants or really anything comfortable.
Personality:
Quinn Collins is a complex being. She most of the time, to most people, could be considered a bitch or an ice queen. She likes to think that she's the smartest and most qualified person in a room and wants respect and to be taken seriously. Most of her relationships stop at a professional level and she doesn't like to mix work and play. She has biting whit and a sarcastic sense of humor and seems to have a blatant disregard to people's feelings. Now if only Quinn's powers extended towards emotional pain and not just physical...
Around children Quinn is very different. She doesn't particularly like children, but she feels a very strong need to take care of them and help them and can't handle being around a child in pain: which is why she chose her profession. Around children Quinn turns on what little warmth she has in her ice cold body and will not stop catering to them until they are smiling again and pain free despite the toll it might take on her.
If one was so lucky to break through Quinn's wall of ice they'd probably be quite surprised. She's a closet geek. She hoards Star Wars paraphernalia, has every season of Doctor Who on DVD, dances around in her underwear, and snorts when she laughs. (Which is part of the reason she tries her best not to laugh most of the time.) Granted this side of Quinn is rare to the outside world and few would have the pleasure to ever see it. Even more so than her geeky tendencies, Quinn also does long to be close to someone. She wants a family and wants desperately to be a mother one day though she'll deny it.

History
Quinn Collins grew up in a small town right outside of Nashville Tennessee with her two brothers and parents. The family was always tight knit, her father Robert is a successful song writer to country music artists in the Nashville area and her Mother was a nurse at the local hospital.
The Quinn children grew up close and the constant companionship of her brothers made Quinn quite the tomboy. She spent most of her free time with her brothers climbing trees, playing video games, sports, and was even in a co-ed boy scout troop. It also didn't help that Quinn was quite boyish looking until she hit puberty.
When Quinn turned 13 she started to see changes in herself, and not just the obvious uncomfortable things that all children go through. Quinn, in what seemed like overnight started to display signs of meta-human proportion when it came to heeling. The first notice of it was when Nash fell off his skateboard and Quinn ran over and upon treating her brothers scrape it seemed to disappear. Within days a recruter showed up and whisked Quinn to Hammel, away from her brothers for the first time.
Quinn didn't have an easy time settling into Hammel and resisted making friends or getting comfortable for months before accepting that this was where she was to spend the next few years of her life. Once she accepted that she started to dive into the hopes of her future finding a love for healing and seeing how beneficial it could be to so many people. She started working on her grades early to get into a good Medical school.
When Quinn was 15 her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. This destroyed Quinn because she couldn't be with her family for the majority of the fight. Her mother underwent procedures to take care of it but she didn't respond to treatments. She battled for two years before passing away when Quinn was 17. Losing her mother was difficult for Quinn and she still struggles with the loss having been close with her mother as well growing up. This also left Quinn the last female in the Collins family which made her father and brothers a bit more protective of her.
After graduating High School Quinn attended John Hopkins University studying under a premed curriculum with a major in biology. College was very different for Quinn than middle school or high school. For the first time she dropped the tomboy/geek thing she had going for her and concentrated on her looks as well as her studies. She found herself in a catty clique of girls who became her best friends and met Ian Black, another premed student, who she started to date her sophomore year. To look good for medical school Quinn also spent a lot of her time in college doing volunteer work at homeless shelters and in her local hospital.
After graduating she went on to medical school staying at John Hopkins to be close to her boyfriend who proposed to her at the end of her second year of Med school planning to marry the summer after she graduated before she began her residency.
Quinn graduated medical school with flying colors which was well deserved after slaving for so long in the library for nearly 6 years. She then began to delve herself into her wedding, splitting her time between that and residency. A month before the wedding however she learned that Ian had been having an affair with a woman he'd met online.
Heartbroken and embarrassed Quinn decided to focus her life even more on her work and was given the offer to finish her residency in Pilot Ridge. She jumped at the opportunity to start fresh and new and has been a pediatrician in Pilot Ridge since.
