General Appearance:Standing at 5'8" it is hard to miss Emmanuelle when she walks into the room. She is tall and graceful with long legs and an almost mystical air about her. Her hair is bright blonde and falls in soft curls around her back and her eyes are piercing icy blue. Her skin, like her hair and the rest of her features is fair and clear with a soft rose flush in her cheeks. Her nose is small, her hands dainty and her feet and ears finally grown into.
Emmanulle is a lovely looking young woman who has only recently grown into her own features. Up until the past year she was awkward and gawky looking and still isn't used to her new appearance. Her ears are one of the things she's most self conscious about, still sticking out a little more than she would like and even having a slight point at the end of them which was the cause of a lot of making fun of when she was young particularly around the holidays.
Unlike her sisters, who are all done her father's dark features with dark hair and eyes, Emmanuelle takes after her mother with blonde hair and blue eyes.
Personality: Emmanuelle is the youngest of four girls and because of that she tends to be competitive. She tries her hardest to represent herself as a put together young woman. She is polite and kind to others, she is generous, bubbly, and charming, but this young woman often falls away in shatters when her own jealous tendencies and self consciousness get in the way.
Upon meeting Emmy she is all smiles and sunshine and this isn't a front. She genuinely loves other people, she loves attention, she loves telling stories, entertaining, and she loves boys. She's been known to have boyfriends before and often more than one at a time. She wouldn't consider herself a slut but she definitely enjoys men. She loves the thrill of a new conquest and getting to know someone knew. She loves firsts kisses and learning about someone knew. The only problem is she can't seem to find one who can entertain her for more than a few weeks and even then she can't seem to bring herself to trust them. As soon as one gets close enough she tends to break things off with them.
This goes with her girl friends too. Coming from a family with a lot of women Emmy prefers to have a close knit group of girl friends but it's difficult for her to confide in others. On the contrary though Emmy is a fierce friend and once one has won her friendship she is as loyal as they come. She defends her friends to the grave and will take their secrets with them. She'll defend a friend without question and be the one there to bail them out of jail at 4am. She is an excellent listener even if she isn't the best at opening up herself.
With both her men and her girlfriends though there is one thing in common. Emmy tends to drift towards people who need to be "fixed." She likes broken people, people who seem more broken or insecure than her. She feels insecure about her looks, about her past, about her abilities and she likes people who are the same. She likes people who make her feel like she's more put together than they are. Once people start to see her for the mess she is she pushes them away. She doesn't like people to know that she isn't perfect or feels guilty about anything because she likes to be in control. She also doesn't like to look like the victim. Which is another reason she doesn't stick with one guy for long. If she leaves the boy first then it was on her terms and it was her choice not theirs.

History
Clair and Jack LaBeau met in college. Jack was business major and Clair worked at her parents bakery as a leading pastry chef. Jack fell right in love with the blonde beauty and quickly became a frequent patron of the bakery. After several weeks of coming in and chatting up the young blonde he asked her out and their relationship quickly blossomed. With in months the two found themselves pregnant with their first daughter, Marie. Upon hearing about the pregnancy the couple got married.
Shortly after the birth of Marie the couple opened up their own bakery, Clair teaching Jack how to bake and Jack teaching Clair how to run a business. By the time Marie was two Clair found herself pregnant with her second daughter, Chantal and then quickly after Chantal came Fleur and then finally Emmanuelle.
Growing up the youngest of four girls Emmy had to compete for her parents attention despite her parents making it perfectly clear that they loved each of their daughters equally. The girls are all close, though competition is often a problem between the girls especially since they are all so close in age. Always competing at who was the best baker, who the best singer, who having the cutest boyfriend but when push comes to shove always being best friends.
Trouble didn't start for the family until Emmanuelle was about 13. That was when her parents started to notice something odd with their daughter. She'd always had a sort of fascination with water but she was starting to show more of an obsession. Mutations weren't something that was common in their family genealogy but like everyone else they'd heard about children with certain traits and abilities. Quietly, they started to observe their daughter and quickly caught her manipulating water. At first it wasn't anything huge, just being able to draw water to her, she could make it slightly warmer or colder, she could will bubbles if she wished. But then she started to become more curious. Within days she started diving into the bottom of the pools and not coming up for minutes at a time.
The couple was scared of their daughters abilities. They knew there were schools for mutants but didn't want to accept their perfect daughter as anything other than perfect. They didn't want her to be different. But they knew that these things couldn't be hidden and she, like all other children who possessed special... abilities would be sent to school to harness it. So, before she was sent away at the family decided to take a trip to the beach. This was the week of the accident.
The family was in North Carolina and it was raining. Emmy begged her mother to come with her to the ocean to see the waves. She had never seen waves during a storm and the huge amounts of water tumbling in and out to shore was fascinating. Finally her mother agreed. The storm hadn't gotten big yet, it was only raining and the two went to where the waves were crashing in. Emmy smiled and started to manipulate the water, or thinking she was, letting the waves crash around her feet. She could have sworn she had a handle on it.
Quickly, things got out of line as the storm started to rage in full force and the young girl found herself trying to "control" far more water then she could handle. The water was surging up around her. Higher and higher the waves were coming in crashing over her body. Emmy swore she could stop them. She tried to stop them, tried to push the water back but it only came hurdling in faster and faster as the winds picked up and the waves grew taller and Emmy found herself not on the beach any longer but being drawn out to sea. Her mother tried to pull her out, but got caught in a current along with her daughter. It didn't take long for the two of them to be separated, tossed about like bath toys. After over an hour in the stormy waters Emmy couldn't find her mother anymore. SHe couldn't hear her anymore. She prayed to God that she'd made it back to shore but that wasn't the case.
Emmy was found about a mile off shore by a rescue team. Her mother was never found.
Emmy blames herself fully for her mothers death. In her eyes, the eyes of a child she was the one controlling the water even though she wasn't. She was a child who could only perform party tricks at that point but in her eyes, it felt so real, it felt like she was the one making the waves bigger instead of the storm which was the truth. Emmy blames herself fully for her mothers death despite it not being her fault. Since the accident the family has grown apart. Maris and Chantal don't accept Emmy the way they had before and do foster feelings against her. Fleur supports her fully on the other hand and insists that it wasn't her fault.
Emmy now studies to harness her powers and most days she loves them and she loves the water but there are days where the grief overshadows. She struggles with what happened to her mother and the strain it's put on the relationship between her and her family.
Roleplay Example
Faye's smiled as the smell of old books and dust greeted her. That was what she loved about libraries. If you closed your eyes for just a moment and took it in they all felt the same, they all smelled the same and you could be anywhere, or at least in any library. So when Faye closed her eyes in the Pheonix House library she brought herself back to San Diego, back to the library she'd loved ever since she'd laid her eyes on her first book, the safe place she went when things were bad, the place she escaped, her sanctuary. But alas, when she opened her eyes the magic was gone just as quickly as it'd came and she couldn't help but let out a sad sigh as she urged her legs to walk forward once again.
The library wasn't bad, at least not for an establishment like this one. She had seen worse. But the real test would be if it had some of the books on her 1001 books to read before you die list. She knew they had to at least have a good chunk of them, she only prayed that they would have the ones she couldn't find as easily elsewhere.
The frail girl ran her fragile fingers along the bindings of the books as she walked, tip toeing through the quiet aisles afraid of disturbing whatever creature was lurking around the corners. Perhaps there was a dragon just waiting to be woken up! Waiting to unleash its raft on whatever poor innocent being happened to come across it! Or an ogre as high as her eyes could see! Spanning miles and miles above the ground, it's head not visible covered by clouds. Or perhaps a she'd be lucky and find something far more pleasing like a prince. That thought made her laugh snapping her back into reality. Some things were even to fantastical for her to accept.
She looked over and smiled finding herself in front of the children's section. She hadn't even realized she'd walked there, originally wanting to get something a little more mature. But none the less her curious brown eyes scanned the bindings off the books until she found the one book that started it all. The book she loved more than any other story. The one that inspired her love of reading and inspired so many paintings and helped her cope with the loss of her mother and loss of her innocents at such a young age. Peter Pan.
She greedily grabbed the book off the shelf admiring the gold detail on the cover before opening it. This edition was beautiful, the illustrations where bright and wonderful and the detail was so intricate she could hardly keep her smiles contained. She slid down onto the ground sitting Indian style and began to read the words that she knew so well. She didn't even have to read the words, she had them memorized by heart. She whispered them aloud.
All children, except one, grow up.
