General Appearance: Ezekiel is generally a sharp dresser, preferring a businesslike suit over casual clothing any day. When forced to 'dress-down', he will resort to a button-up shirt and nice, dark jeans. Flamboyancy is not a word that you would associate with this man.
Of around average height, Ezekiel is nevertheless powerfully built, with square shoulders and a strong jawline. He tends to shape his wardrobe around clothing that suit his frame, while not emphasising or exaggerating it.
His blue eyes betray his almost total lack of emotion, and he tends not to smile, laugh or even frown. The most unusual feature on Ezekiel are the collection of neat scars on his head. While hidden by his hair, when it is pulled aside they are noticeable, resembling those of a brain op patient.
Personality: Ezekiel is a remarkable person. He is almost completely devoid of emotion, and the ability to empathise with others. While some small part of him registers that this should not be so, generally he has gotten used to the idea of not being able to 'feel'.
Above all else, Ezekiel is utterly pragmatic. Judgements are based almost purely on logic and reasoning. That is not to say that he does not have moral values, merely that he does not allow decisions he makes in life to be governed by love, fear, anger or any other emotion.
Ezekiel can also maintain inter-personal relationships, albeit distant ones. His impairments make him unsuitable as a confidant, and he has gone through life with a collection of acquaintances yet few, if any, friends. Not that it matters to him.

History
Ezekiel Benedict was born the son of two prominent British diplomats in 1973 in Cape Town, South Africa. His formative years were spent travelling around the world with his parents, mainly around communist states.
In 1983 the Benedicts finally returned to the UK to settle down, and announced their retirement from the diplomatic community. However, only a year later they were begged by the UK government to come out of retirement and lend their bargaining skills to the talks of a new 'Anglo-Irish' agreement to end the troubles in Northern Ireland.
On only their second week in Belfast, disaster struck. A convoy containing the Benedicts and their 11 year old son Ezekiel was attacked by the Provisional IRA. A car bomb took out on of their two escort cars, and the soldiers protecting them were immediately assaulted on all sides by small arms fire. Protected by the fire, PIRA operatives attempted to snatch the diplomat and his wife from their car. However, Ezekiel Snr put up such a fight that his attackers instead shot him and his wife Constance, capturing their son Ezekiel Jnr instead and carrying him away before the British forces could stop them.
The initial plan had been to hold young Ezekiel for ransom, but over the next few months he started to exhibit strange behaviour. When a beer can next to him imploded as he raged against his captors, the terrorists whispered that they had found a weapon. Heavily sedating Ezekiel to keep him from involuntarily using his powers, they smuggled him over the border to an abandoned hospital in the republic.
For almost a year they experimented on Ezekiel, capturing doctors to examine his neurological behaviour, and sometimes bringing him out of sedation long enough to demonstrate his power. It was only luck and his relatively young age that prevented disaster, such was the danger of his mass-altering abilities. Had the experiments gone on much longer, his power may have developed to the point where he accidentally caused the beginning of a black hole.
Over this time, Ezekiel became emotionally cut off, subjected to a constant routine of sedation and then testing. Eventually, his anger had subsided, and with it the tendency for his power to errupt on cue. When the Anglo-Irish agreement was eventually signed in 1985, his captors were more than willing to release him as part of the deal, believing his powers to have vanished.
Psychiatric treatment, and witness statements from some IRA snitches, led to him being referred to the Kocher Institute. A quick learner, Benedict studied there until 1995, when at the age of 23 he left to pursue a 'normal' life in the security services.
Unfortunately, in 2003 he was honourably discharged from the SAS for causing the death of a civilian, in a hostage situation in a Iraqi suburb. A key member of the Iraqi high command was holding a local trader at gunpoint in an attempt to escape. Unemotionally reasoning that the death of one innocent was worth the capture of a high command member, Benedict shot the commander in the leg. While the civilian died, the commander was apprehended, and hugely useful information was extracted.
Since then, he has been self employed as a private security operative, working for embassy personnel in the Middle East. Looking to get out of the gunfire, he has now come to work for Hammel as security.
