Bright laughter followed the happy couple as they left the church, rice raining down on the pair of smiling faces as they ran towards the awaiting limo. This was the fruits of six years of long courtship on the groom’s part, lots of patience, and much compromise over the years. Of course, it was to be expected as the flashing lights caught them, the blushing bride laughing as she dove into the back of the limo, dragging her husband in after her as they hurriedly shut the door behind them. The cameras of the paparazzi followed the newly wedded couple as they drove off, panting for breath as they watched each other with broad grins.
Never had Ariana Celestia Simone expected to find herself married. She’d expected a career on Broadway, which she had in fact achieved, but she’d never thought that she’d find herself sharing her successful life with the amazing man sitting next to her in a suit and tie, cheeks flushed and eyes happy. Ariana had spent the last few years after her graduation in New York City, landing several roles in the course of a couple months in Broadway productions. She knew her seminar work back in her high school years would pay off. She became a Broadway sensation, earning herself a couple Tonys by her early twenties. She’d even worked on a movie in the last year that was set to release in the next few months. It was everything she ever dreamt she’d wanted, and she loved it dearly.
However, there was another factor that had ended up making her life a whole lot better than she’d expected. After their reconciliation back in her last year at Hammel, Ari had decided that maybe…maybe she could give commitment a chance. After that, she‘d never been happier. It wasn’t that they never had fights, nor that she never doubted her decision a bit. But he was the most gentlemanly, understanding man she could have ever met. He was there even when she’d wanted to run, carefully coaxing her back into his arms and never letting her go. He was everything she could have hoped for, everything she hadn’t known she’d wanted or needed.
Once she’d graduated, they’d kept up a healthy long distance relationship, something she’d never entertained the thought of until he’d come along. She’d nearly gone back to her old ways a few times, but every time she’d been tempted, all she had to do was think of him and she held back. She couldn’t do that to him. After his graduation, he’d gone off to med school while she’d went to endless rehearsals and performances, getting enough time in her schedules to take time off to go visit him every few months. Every visit was cherished, something she always looked forward to that pushed her through her next few months of constant performance. When she’d been nominated for her first Tony, he’d been there by her side at the awards, there to congratulate her when she took it home. She was his star, and he was her savior.
Leaning back against the leather of the limo, hazel eyes met with those dark orbs she knew so well, smiling widely as she took his hand. The ceremony had been made up mostly of his family, considering her own was pretty much nonexistent. It wasn’t a big ceremony, just reserved for a select few that they’d chosen, with of course, a bit of security around the boundary for the paps. It had been beautiful, everything she could have dreamed of and more. Her fingers ran over the feathery material of her skirt, smiling softly as she couldn’t help but beam. She was the epitome of the blushing bride, a stereotype she never thought she’d ever match up with, but she couldn’t help the immeasurable joy that flooded her at the thoughts that filled her mind when she thought of the future.
Now, it was time for the honeymoon. The actress smiled as she took her husband’s hand, laying her head on his shoulder as she relaxed. They were heading for the airport, going the more discreet route just for safety. With their combined salaries, they’d been able to afford a private jet for their honeymoon to the Bahamas, a splurge that they probably weren’t going to repeat for a while, but one she absolutely was going to enjoy. She leaned up and kissed the groom’s cheek, smiling widely. “Can you believe we’re really here, Tal?”
