[ooc: This is a bachelor party. Grown-up things may happen.]
December 2022
It's not like JD wasn't busy these days. After graduating from Harvard with his doctorate in scientific engineering and technology he had immediately entered NASA's training for human space exploration. Now he had a brief--very brief--break before continuing his specialized training and being sent up to the International Space Station for a year. Despite his busy schedule, though, he knew that he needed to be around for this very special event in the life of a good friend.
He'd received the invitation in the mail a few months ago, in beautiful flowing script and with special gold edging. Could you expect anything less when the invitation was to the wedding of one of the most eligible (and wealthy) bachelors in the country, if not the world?
So when Robbie called a few weeks ago spouting ideas for a bachelor party, JD was ready and had even done some research on his own. Robbie did have some really good ideas, though, ones that JD hadn't considered before, so he made a few notes and started making the phone calls. Naturally, he promised payment by the LaRousse family. Zac wouldn't be hurt by all the expenses, and after all, it was his party, right?
JD flew up a few days before the wedding and was there for the rehearsals. The venue was huge, the guest list was huge, the decorations were huge...everything was simply enormous. Which made JD feel a bit better that he'd done something a bit different for the bachelor party.
In the basement of an old pizza parlor he'd rented for the night, JD sat relaxed at one of the tables and looked out over the room. Everything looked good so far--all he was waiting for now was for Robbie to bring in the guest of honor.
When there was a knock at the door, JD rose to answer it, letting in the two final guests. "Glad you finally made it," he said, grinning for once. "Now. Let's get this party started."
Which, of course, was the cue for the band...and the strippers...and the bartenders...and the lights...and the giant chocolate fondue (which had admittedly been running previously but now seemed to start going with even more chocolaty goodness).
"What do you think?"
